I WILL ALWAYS GIVE YOU WHAT YOU NEED

The story is a power-exchange historical western tale with mystery, suspense, and murder. It has a great cast of characters and was a page-turner for me. While Ms. Misty Malone does include discipline (which is never over the top and always given in love), she does not have intimate scenes; they are implied.

The story will have two childhood friends who lived on neighboring ranches and are now grown up. Lizzie Morgan was raised by her father, Ben, after her mother died when she was young. Ben never could bring himself to discipline Lizzie, so she did get away with things--but she isn't a brat. Lizzie has a unique way with animals, especially the horses and foals on the ranch.

Wyatt Hamilton is the youngest of four boys and three years older than Lizzie. He has always been protective of her growing up. The Hamilton family is returning from a trip to Boston to see two married sons and their families. Wyatt has been thinking about his future during the journey and wants it to be with Lizzie as his wife.

The story's plot will have Lizzie upset with her father's foreman, Coy Clemson. She doesn't like how he looks at her--and even tries to talk to Ben about it. When Ben's brother and his family visit, her cousin meets Coy and immediately dislikes him, feeling his actions toward Lizzie are wrong--but Lizzie hadn't shared her feelings--wanting an unbiased opinion. Coy had asked Ben for permission to court Lizzie, and it didn't take long for Ben to deny him that right. Coy, being a man who wants an easy route, accosts Lizzie, beating her, and luckily Wyatt hears her screams for help and prevents a rape from happening.

This story has the good, the bad, and the evil of people. I was surprised at who ended up killing Ben--and I won't divulge that because this is a fantastic story and well worth reading. I love how Wyatt proves to be the man Lizzie always admired--but he is also a man who will hold her accountable for her actions. With Ben's permission, he is courting Lizzie, and he will even spank her when she lies by omission to them. He is never overbearing but shows her his true self, as a man of his word and deed.

Good cast of characters
I loved the running theme in this book and it was well done. The characters were great and it was a very realistic look at this time frame also. There are some interesting twists to the tale not everything peaches and cream either. It was an excellent book. I did receive a free copy of this book from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.
