MYSTIC #4

The Rules For Mating

Rate this book
This book was previously out by a different publisher. It has been given a new cover and re-edited but it is the same book.

A meteor attack has changed the world as we know it. Most of the people that survived now have special powers. However, as with all people some are good and some are evil. There is a group of men that were brought together by the World Council called MYSTIC. MYSTIC is a group of men known as celestials. which are men with multiple powers. They are only brought in on to deal with Nefariouses. These are men with powers used for their own evil, twisted purpose.

Trent and Kalib have known for some time they are mates. However, they can't seem to stop arguing long enough to make it official. Maybe with the rules of mating, the others have set for them, can help make it work. A Canadian vacation is suggested to help Trent and Kalib find the time to talk and maybe figure out if they are really meant to be.

Just as the two men think they might have their answer, an attack on the Canadian Mystic agents interferes. A few agents are hurt and another man is injured and almost dies. It soon is discovered that Keith is working with the Eliminators and that they may have higher bosses than the MYSTIC agents ever knew.

Keith decides that Trent has saved him so they can be together and will do anything to make that happen, even destroy Kalib . Needing answers, Trent decides to use the infatuation Keith seems to have for him in order to gain information about the Eliminators and the part the Council may be playing in the attacks.

What will happen when Keith finds out that the only man for Trent is in the other room?

We finally find out what the heck the problem is between Trent and Kalib. They have been keeping their distance from each other since the first time they met even though they knew they were mates.

With a little help from their friends, they finally get their heads out of their rears and just be together.

We also learn more about MYSTIC and how it is run. We start to understand what the Council is up to and meet new friends.

I am really enjoying this series and look forward to learn more about the men of MYSTIC and more about how they fix things.

The rules worked perfectly for Kalib and Trent (those two were adorable). They really helped their relationship and they had a very strong bond. The villain was crazy and evil but he was handled well at the end of the story. The plot held my attention and the writing was well done. Very enjoyable read.

I should just call quits here but I'm going to push on.. One more in this series (for now) and then the Canada book and THEN this will fall off my radar...just can't leave it incomplete no matter the issues I have with it.

So lets get started.. there is a lot of YELLING.... they are always yelling at each other during sex.. who owns this ass who do you belong to blah blah blah blah...

Seems like every new book contradicts itself.. Now I'm not going to go back and verify this that I remember correctly but....I'm sure I remember that inerts were said to age normally just like any women that happened to survive... OH that reminds me! In the previous book, there was a FEMALE nurse.. here, we learn that its been 50 years since the meteor shower. The nurse is unlikely to be still alive.

Now.. this is just plain WEIRD.. the whole baby thing..Did we really have to go there.. ya know, the baby switching parent bodies just to be born.. if the 'green mist' can transport the baby from one parent to the other to be born why not just come OUT that way. Anddddd I thought it was also weird that the baby switching from Matty to Bram but sill had an umbilical cord is just.. uh yeah Weird...

So.. I guess I'd be pressed to say this is actually 2.5 stars... but... again gonna finish up what's already there..
