Jot is Marie Lynne's lucky pencil, but there's a new pencil in town, or at least in the pencil pouch. Click is mechanical, never needs sharpening, and has back-up erasers. How can Jot compete with that? Joined by his two pals, Blueberry and E, Jot makes a plan to get back to his top spot in the pouch. Will he and his friends succeed, or will they end up in the dark and dusty bottom of the pouch, forgotten?
Really fun chapter book. A great book for kids advanced past picture books. 9 chapters and 82 pages of easy reading adventure. There are just enough illustrations to spark the imagination, but enough room left to allow that imagination to create on it's own. Very creative story of a wooden pencil and his new rival, the mechanical pencil. With both vying for the top spot in a young girls pencil pouch. There are plenty of classroom settings that young readers will be familiar with. Plus recess! Very enjoyable read.
The idea is so fresh and relatable.. I had never read a book with the same story. But, its story also happened in my life and then my son's, Sabio. Coincidentally, before we started reading this book, Sabio had started to prefer a mechanic pencil than a classic pencil. Jot & Click, made us wondering how if those pencils were alive and have feelings.. Every time I looked at our pencils, I always remembered about Jot & Click. Until now, Sabio still uses both of classic pencils and mechanical pencils.., so no "one" will be sad.
