Mathis is head medic aboard the Cyborg ship Freedom . For centuries he’s endured abuse by his handlers in the Human Alliance. As a healer, it goes against his nature to torture and kill a weaker species, but this is what the Alliance demands of him. Finally free of their abusive masters, Cyborgs like Mathis will do anything in their power to avoid contact with humans. This changes when his commander rescues twelve human females off a Vesperian ship.
Tara wakes up after six months in a coma to find she’s been abducted from Earth and impregnated by an alien lizard man. Everything she knows and loves is her sister, her family, her life. Cyborgs only exist in science fiction novels back home, but apparently they’re real enough in this time. Tara has no memory of the lizard man who abducted her, but she isn’t entirely sure she’s safe with these emotionally cold Cyborgs.
Sparks fly between Tara and her handsome doctor when the new commander of Freedom dumps her and the other women on a world where men rule, and females have no rights.

Soul of a Warrior, a science fiction romance, was published by Crimson Cloak Publishing in 2016 and is available through Amazon. It's true what they say about a new door opening when another closes.

Saving Mathis is the second installment in the Cyborg Reborn series, which follows the story of Mathis, the head medic on a cyborg ship called Freedom. His past is riddled with the trauma inflicted upon him by humans over many centuries. However, despite this horrendous mistreatment from the Human Alliance, Mathis vows never to harm a human or any species considered weaker than cyborgs. Instead, he practices healing and strives for a life of peace after having escaped his ruthless captors.
Mathis adapts to life on the Freedom ship. He enjoys an existence without human contact until an unexpected event involves the rescue of a dozen human survivors from another ship, where they were held captive and impregnated by an alien species. This development poses a risk to the lives of twelve vulnerable humans saved from the Vesperian ship, and there is also a shift in priorities. Mathis’ focus quickly shifts to these women, who hold no power or future in this cold, robotic world of cyborgs and patriarchal rule. Without any memory of the traumatic events before the rescue, Tara, one of the twelve women, must rely on Mathis and his assurance of her safety, despite an uncertain life where women have few rights.
Throughout the book, the author reels readers in with vivid imagery, electric action, and a palpable feeling of dread, all while delving into the developing relationship between Mathis and Tara. Tara adjusts to a new world after waking from a coma and finds herself helpless and unlikely to survive. She must navigate her feelings and strategize how to live in this new world. I found her journey to be so compelling. Readers will find her endearing but capable and this dichotomy is explored in interesting ways in the story. As a survivor of human cruelty, Mathis, too, must find peace in this new life and decide if he can trust again. He is a character that has surprising depth and I found myself paying very close attention when he was on the page because I was deeply intrigued by his personality.
Saving Mathis offers a riveting sci-fi tale of survival and perseverance in a futuristic world where darkness and inequality reign, but a glimmer of hope shines through from the unlikeliest of species. Denna Holm’s writing is sharp and engaging, ensuring readers quickly lose themselves in this epic science fiction drama. Saving Mathis is a fantastic cyberpunk space opera that delivers some thought-provoking ideas in an entertaining story.
Mathis and Tara make an interesting couple. Mathis is the head medic on the Cyborg ship Freedom. He and the other cyborgs have had to endure horrible human handlers, forced by them to do unconscionable things to innocent beings. Now they are no longer under the control of the abusive humans. Commander Althena rescues 11 humans from a Vesperian ship after the humans had been kidnapped. Tara had additionally been attacked and impregnated by one of the alien lizard men.
Due to her injuries, Tara was kept in a medically-induced coma for 6 months while she healed. And when she woke, she demanded her rights and a phone to call her parents, not listening to what the head medic, Mathis, was telling her, that they were in space, had no phones, and wherever she came from was unreachable. Mathis most definitely did not appreciate her demanding tone when she should have been grateful she was still alive. Humans were the enemy, and none of the crew would have been sorry if they hadn’t been rescued.
But things are not fated to go well when the Commander dumps the human women on another planet where men are in control and women are badly treated. Will Mathis let Tara go into this situation? Or will he help her survive?
I didn’t really like the character Tara. Her bad language aimed at Mathis wasn’t justified, especially since he was the authority figure and trying to help her. But the story line was done well to make the reader understand the confusion Tara felt. It was all very realistic and we knew the worst was coming when her alien child would arrive. Grab this fascinating story and see what Tara’s future will bring.
Mathis is a cyborg medic serving on the Cyborg ship Freedom. The cyborgs were treated horribly for years like slaves by the Human Alliance. Now that they have escaped the humans' control, they want nothing to do with humans. However when the cyborgs raid a Vesperian ship, they find 11 human women captives and one alien woman, two of which have been brutally attacked and impregnated by the Vesperians. Mathis is called on to heal the human woman. Tara is so bad off he had to put her in a coma to heal and place a block on her memories. The problem they cyborgs have is that no one knows where the human women came from. All of them say that their last memories before the Vesperian ship was from over 2,000 years ago. The cyborgs don't believe them. However the more time that Mathis spends with Tara, the more he starts to believe she is telling the only truth she knows. He is fascinated by Tara and wants to protect and keep her safe.
Tara wakes up from her coma, believing that she is in a hospital on Earth. The medic Mathis is confusing her by telling her that she is in a spaceship in space. When Tara askes about her twin sister, she is told that she is mistaken because twins don't exist. Bit by bit the truth comes out. She is in space over 2,000 years in the future surrounded by cyborgs who hate humans. She is pregnant with a half alien baby whose father raped and abused her. Tara is so confused and lost. Mathis gives her only feelings of safety.

This is a fantastic story and I enjoyed reading it. The characters are great, though they do talk about some dark moments in their past. The storyline is two people meeting and finding love. There’s pregnancy, action, danger, steamy scenes and much more with a happily ever after ending.
With the humans on board the cyborg ship, Mathis has to care for them. One in particular has been in a medically induced coma after a traumatic event on a slavers ship that resulted in her getting pregnant. When she wakes she’s scared, the last thing she can remember she was on Earth, same as the other women. Once she’s cleared from medical she’s taken to her own quarters. The cyborg commander of the ship doesn’t believe the women are from Earth, instead she thinks the human alliance has done something to their brains to make them think that. When Tara is called for questioning, she totally checks out of reality when Mathis is ordered to tie her to a chair. He takes her to his quarters and she stays there. They get to know each other on a deeper level and both develop feelings for each other. The thing is, cyborgs hate humans with a vengeance, to be together could cause problems but it’s something they are willing to risk to be together.

This was an very enjoyable read for me. I liked the two characters and I felt like the world building was great, with a very fleshed out feel of what everything was like. The steamy bits were sweet and even showed character growth which was interesting.
Tara wakes up aboard the cyborg ship, finding herself in a strange world 2000 years into the future and pregnant to boot, which she can't remember. Mathis is the cyborg doctor that cares for her, far more than he should.
When Tara and the other humans find out they're not welcome on a cyborg vessel because of what the Human Alliance has done to cyborgs, she and the others are brought to a primitive planet. Only... It's not as great a place as it seemed and Mathis can't seem to make himself leave her there.
This book is four stars only because I felt that some descriptions were a bit wordy or repetitive, taking me out of the flow of things. But other than that, this is a great read, with serious overtones.
Book should come with a trigger warning, as there are a few bits about past trauma and serious examples of slavery.

“We are not as heartless as the humans who mistreated us.”
This is a very interesting and enjoyable book about a human woman and a cyborg man. There is a lot of plot to this book. The focus is much more on the story and the emotional connection the two leads develop and not at all like a typical alien romance. Mathis, the hero, is at heart a kind, sensitive man and I thought the title of the book very appropriate. The love they grow to feel for each other is very romantic. This series is a great addition to the genre and I look forward to reading more.

Waking up 2000 years in the future Tara and some other human women are rescued by a Cyborg ship Freedom. All the women have been treated horribly and Tara was the worst and had to be put in a coma with a block on her memories. Mathis is a cyborg medic who was treated as bad as the other cyborgs by humans and they want nothing to do with humans. Tara only feels bewildered and apprehensive but with Mathis she feels safe. Love the connection between Tara and Mathis as their love grows. Great story and look forward to more from this author.

This sci-fi romance was enjoyable. There was plenty of action, danger, and intricate plot to keep things interesting and the pacing quick. The stakes were life and death, and the characterization was very well done. The development of the romantic relationship was one of a reluctant hero and all in heroine, which is my least favorite. I prefer a pursuer hero, honestly. Aside from that, I really enjoyed it.

New to me author. First I read in the series although it’s the 2nd book. Awesome world building. Cyborgs saved some humans from evil aliens, but the Cyborgs don’t like nor trust humans. This story has a lot going on and the overarching story isn’t resolved. Totally can’t wait to find out what happens next to the other humans.
I thought this was a very tempting taste of an enticing cyborgs series, story has a soul and is unexpectably warm for an Scifi romance. Way to go, I will surely continue to follow this series.

Saving maths by Denna Holm. Book 2 of Cyborgs Reborn. Mathis is head medic aboard the Cyborg ship Freedom. For centuries he's endured abuse by his handlers in the Human Alliance. A very good read with good characters. I could see this on the screen. 4*.

I really enjoyed the world building in this new series. However there's a lot of rape scenes. A lot ! I had to skip through them. Trigger Warnings should be posted.
