Love #3 book in this series. This has turned out to be some great summer reading! This third book follows Fr. Gabe Devlin into murder mystery. During a temporary assignment, he uncovers dead bodies with no explanation. Finding it hard to find people to trust, he meets a young teacher who is having dreams that may correlate to what is going on in the churchyard. I have really enjoyed these books that are impossible to put down.

Loved it.

I think I've read all three books in a day, or 24 hours more like.
What made me smile was, I had eaten dinner but wasn't prepared to leave the restaurant before I'd finished the second book. Now feeling happy that I had found a great author, but can't wait until I find another book by him.

Not a triple.. a home-run!!

Each book of this trilogy is well worth reading, with great character portrayals, interesting plots and easy to follow storylines. Reading them in order, as I did, makes the most sense, though they can be read as stand-alones, should this be one's choice.

My rating: 4 1/2 stars. I enjoyed this series tremendously. Finished all three books in three days! The only complaint I have about this book, is that I wish the epilogue was a little bit more detailed. I would’ve loved to have known the outcome of certain people.. I look forward to reading more from this author.

What an ending

Another good one mr carver. I like the wonderings of gabe, good characters, sinister group, got it all, and an ending that makes you wonder what's in store for father devlin.

great

Out of the three books this was the best one for me. I enjoyed the storyline with its twists and turns, Devlin was great and had empathy for all the others. I would highly recommend all three books to everyone.

Another brilliant read

Have read all the books in this series and loved everyone one of them. Such a complex, tortured character but through it all his goodness shines. Couldn't stop reading this book and now sad it's over!

A bit spooky

It appears Devlin is a carrier of bad spirits and he uses them wisely, keeps them from creating chaos, uses them to fight the good fight.
A terrific story, a page turner, book four is waiting for me.

Book Three of the series dives deeply into abuses in the Catholic church, murders, and Devlin’s reconning with his own demons.

A return to form.

Devlin once again finds himself in a town that believes itself to be law abiding but soon becomes evident that is anything but.
Devlins frank open mindedness to faith upsets the local apple cart which sets in motion a number of discoveries that implicates religious groups, law enforcement and social care.
My main gripe with the book is the end game seems to become resolved very quickly and could have done with a few more chapters.
