All American Boy Series

Summer romance is not for those who are led by their heart.

For Jonah Thomas, life is wake up, eat breakfast, go to work at his family’s restaurant Ahoy Matey’s. Lather, rinse, repeat. Next! His hometown, the sleepy little Stoney Brook, Maine, doesn’t offer much for someone like Jonah.

He’s not really living and has no clear path in front of him. Jonah merely…exists.

Party boy, Micah Hannigan is determined to enjoy the summer before his final year of college. Stoney Brooke, Maine is not on his bucket list. Two weeks there with his family is a life sentence, especially when his friends are living it up on the beaches of Florida where he should be.

Micah has plans, lots of them but he’d never factored in meeting the beautiful and intriguing Jonah Thomas.

It’s crazy how love always finds a way when you least expect it.

It is so rare to read about the beginning of a love story at a young age, that finding this story was a real gem for me.

4 Stars!

Jonah was a cinnamon roll of a guy, a good son, albeit a bit directionless. I love how close he was to his parents. Micah was a party boy and frankly, I wanted to slap him a few times for how childish he behaved with his parents at the start of the book. Jonah and Micah were sweet and hot together, Micah was patient with Jonah and they got along quite well.

The book was a lovely read, you have to suspend your disbelief near the end, but it's still a nice first-time romance that will leave you with a smile. Recommendable!

Can a summer fling become the basis of forever if you don’t even live in the same state.

This is the cutest NA novella. The story of young love that forms from a summer fling when Micah and his family take a family vacation to Maine. There he meets Jonah, a local who’s feeling a little lost and directionless and in need of a connection.

This is an insta love short story with some fates aligning, but it managed to not be too over the top. It was really a lovely story of a boy finding himself in the care of a compassionate and sweet guy. I fell in love with these two.

Stars: 4.5

Thos was such a sweet instalove story. Jonah & Micah were good together and for each other. For a novella, I felt the character & story development were well done. It's not easy to accomplish that with a shorter book. As with all her writing, TL Travis did a great job.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily gave my honest review.

This is a sweet insta love NA MM read.

Jonah and Micah, meet when Micah visits Jonahs home town (where the whole multi author series is set)

There is few moments where I was like doh!

As this is first book I've read I the series, no idea how the characters will all interact or even if they do but overall a good enjoyable read.

I absolutely loved Jonah and Micah and their story was so sweet. I loved that even though it took place over a relatively short period of time, the development of their relationship felt natural and it wasn’t rushed.

Jonah and Micah had amazing chemistry and I loved watching them fall in love. My only issue is something that happened towards the end of the story that just didn’t seem realistic at all, but I don’t want to spoil the story, so I’ll keep it to myself. I’ll just say that it ends well, but the situation just doesn’t seem plausible.

Still, this was an enjoyable, sweet and a little bit of a sexy read, that I’d have no trouble recommending.

Realistic story of love found, lost and found again.

4 stars. (***Mild spoilers***)

An amazingly emotion driven strangers to lovers novella about a bored, summer town local teen, Jonah, and a privileged college boy, Micah, on vacation with his family from Florida to the northern town of Stoney Brook.
Jonah has been raised helping out in his parents summer food shack called "A'hoy Matey!" His life consisted of work, his dog and video games. And boredom.
Micah resented being made to go on the vacation his sister chose and was certain his two weeks in Stoney Brook would be nothing to text home to anyone about.
A chance meeting between the two occurs when Micah sets out on his own and arrives at A'Hoy Matey! with an empty stomach and starcrossed eyes for Jonah. The men agree to meet the next day after Jonah is through working.
In an effort to keep this review shorter and less revealing than my prior two, the author weaves a smooth, caring and flowing plot around the guys getting to know each other. Both are virgins and after just two "dates," both have chosen the other as their "one and only."
Knowing their time together is becoming more serious and short, the relationship quickly builds to full heat status, with Micah spending nights at Jonah's, with his non- judgemental parents approval.
Jonah's folks are considering selling the food stand and their house and moving to Florida to retire.
Finally, Micah's vacation is over, but not before something wonderous befalls both men.
With Micah back in Florida, Jonah is utterly despondent and miserable without him. The weeks pass and Jonah's parents tell him they've sold both the business and house. All three begin home shopping in Florida and find their new home within a week. Moving follows, with Jonah's parents buying him a car for all the work he did with the food shop.
After getting his car, Jonah gets a job the same day. On one of his days working a "Mike's," a basic fast food and bar business, Jonah is the recipient of a huge surprise.
A few weeks pass, and Jonah finds himself moving into his own apartment. At 20 years old, he is finally on his own with a full-time job.
But what of Micah?? Did Jonah realize that he was just a summer fling for the man that captured his heart? Would they ever see each other again? Were they even looking for one another? Ah, dear readers, those ARE the questions!
I absolutely loved and enjoyed this short, yet sensitive, tale that combined so many positive elements into a beautifully sad plot. I highly recommend this book for a reflective view on one's younger years and first love.

Great Read

What a grand story in Summer Boy by TL Travis. This book is part of a multi-author All American Boys series, a set of 9 books. This book also fit the theme of the All American "Boy" and makes sense in this set of stories. I am a definite fan of this author! The characters had a lot of depth, and were very realistic. It is always an honor to read this author's books. This author is a great storyteller. MM Romance books are not always easy to write, but Travis always does a great job of writing "outside of the lines" and they aren't books that are written with a "romance genre template." I always do enjoy reading books by Travis. It's always interesting on how she tells the story, and introduces the characters to the reader, as well as each other. Not everything is love at first sight, and not everything is boy meets boy, boy falls in love with boy, boys break up, boys fall in love again. There is a lot of layers to this story, and when Travis writes, she shows the reader the story, and it always comes together. The characterizations are engrossing and dynamic. Jonah and Micah may seem like the unlikely ones to fall in love, but you never know what's going to happen and how it's going to play out. You may blush (I don't), but it works, and is worth the read. Anything she writes, is worth the read. I do recommend reading all of the books in the All American Boy series, especially because they are from multiple authors. Summer Boy is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews.

Jonah Thomas works at his parent's restaurant in Stoney Brook, Maine. Jonah just seems to go through the motions in life…with no direction, thoughts or goals for the future. That is, until one day, in walks Micah Hannigan, and Jonah finally finds someone other than his dog that he's interested in. Micah is only on vacation in Maine for ten days, but he is interested in finding more about the gorgeous but shy boy who works at the seaside restaurant. Their mutual attraction leads to close, almost inseparable, companionship. But what happens at the end of the ten days, when Micah must return to his own life in Florida?

Summer Boy is a wonderful novel!! The plot is interesting, sweet and sentimental, and the character development is fabulous! I really enjoyed how Micah - a total stranger to Jonah at first - is able to make Jonah learn so much about himself that he never knew. In return, Jonah gives Micah a taste of something he's seldomly felt before… the emotional craving for a relationship beyond that of the physical. The secondary characters in the book are quite noteworthy, as well. For example, Jonah's parents are not only materialistically supportive of their son, but emotionally also. They help to keep him grounded, but are careful to see that he lives his life on his own terms - and to experience all the world has to offer him.

A very heartwarming and sentimental romance! 5 stars!

STEAMY SUMMER LOVE!

Jonah Thomas works at his parent restaurant in Stony Brook, Maine feeling like a nineteen year old loser as he feels he has no direction to follow with his future and he feels numb when it comes to sexual feelings and now his parents has dropped a bomb....... they want to sell and move to Florida!

He was depressed until the Tall Ship Festival started and a gorgeous guy walked into the restaurant.......

Micah Hannigan, graduating student from Florida State University in Tallahassee is on a road trip with his family but would rather be in Orlando surfing and hooking up with sexy hotties until he walks into Ahoy Matey's Burger and Fries in Stony Brook, Maine and sees a gorgeous blonde, green eyed stunner who he learns is Jonah Thomas!

They embark on a summer fling and Jonah learns more about his demisexuality through Micah but it feels more as Jonah is new to everything and a breath of fresh air to player Micah and they fall hopelessly for each other but Micah will be returning to Florida soon leaving Jonah behind or is fate going to give them a helping hand?........

Another lovely romance in this series

This is the fourth book in the series that I have read and I love them all. They are sweet and charming and all the men are easy to love.
Jonah's days consist of working with his parents and spending time on the beach with his beloved dog, Sadie. He is an innocent but has never felt a pull towards anyone, until one day he looks up and there is HE is. Micah has has never felt a pull towards anyone either until the angelic-looking Jonah consumes his every waking thought.
Micah is kind and loving and patient with Jonah, taking things slowly and letting Jonah set the pace, but both of them are left bereft when Micah has go home, and Micah doesn't even think to do what we all would naturally do if in the same situation.
I loved how Jonah's parents were so supportive of him, as were Micah's. I loved how their story ended. I loved everything about this book.

I didn’t know what to expect when reading this book. However, it was a very pleasant reading! I really enjoyed reading it. Bear in mind, I was reading it while attending a Holy Communion for my grand-daughter. I’m Deaf and they didn’t get me an interpreter so I was bored. I decided to read it on my iPhone and I was very entertained! It was a very sweet story.
The story focused on Jonah, a 20-year old guy who lives at home and work at his parents’ restaurant in Maine and Micah who was literally forced to make a trip to Maine with his family. Micah would rather be partying with his friends for the summer but his sister had the first dibs on where to go for this particular summer. She chose Maine. This was where Micah first saw Jonah and fell head over heels for him when he stepped in Jonah’s restaurant. You could call it a summer fling but what happens after Micah had to head back home? This is for you to pick up the book and read to find out!

This was a cute extremely short summer romance read! I really liked the lightness of it and I thought it was so sweet. First kiss, time, and love. Jonah and Micha are ADORABLE and I wish there was more to this book. I actually needed super light read after I read my last book so this definitely hit the spot. I felt like the detail was good but could have been great had there been more. I felt like the characters had depth and were relatable but again there could have been more to amp up the visual I need as a reader. There were a lot of cute moments and it truly felt like I was in Maine during the warm summer time while I read. Jonah is the sweet, shy, loner who has his Labrador dog as his only friend really. He is super likeable with his innocence and his kind heart. Micha is more outgoing and confident but equally as sweet. They complimented each other and they had fun and they fell in love! Sortie but goodie for sure!

Loved it!! Jonah is a little lost in terms of what he wants to do in life. He gets up and goes to work at the family restaurant, walks his dog and plays video games. Until he meets Micah and realizes he like’s men too. Micah has one more year of college, he’s determined to have fun until he must start being an adult. He never expected Jonah. They were so sweet together, loved Jonah and Micah!! For such a short novella, this packed a punch, loved the story! The story hooked me, kept me engaged. Overall this was a really good story! The story was really well written, the pacing flowed smoothly, highly recommend. I am voluntarily leaving a review form an advanced copy that I received. I loved this book. Sweet innocent love. Enjoyable and entertaining. All the feels of a first love. Jonah has worked at his parents restaurant in Maine for as long as he can remember. His parents want to retire to Florida and leave the restaurant to Jonah. Jonah would rather follow his parents to Florida. Micah is from Florida but must share a two week family vacation in Maine. Micah would much rather be partying with his friends and enjoying hookups on the beach. Then he runs into Jonah and things change. There is an immediate attraction between the two. Soon they are spending every day of Micah's vacation together and things heat up. Will this be a summer fling or does fate have other plans in mind. I highly recommend.

Summer Boy is part of the All American Boy Series and is an m/m short read.
I absolutely adored this story. It was beyond sweet and Micah & Jonah’s characters I fell in love with immediately.
I was so glad when Micah rocked up in Jonah’s town they where both what each other needed and without even realising it.
I couldn’t put it down and ended up wishing the story was longer. But even though it wasn’t long, it didn’t miss anything. It gave me hearts in my eyes and butterflies in tummy for them!
I thought my heart break a bit towards the end but that was a great and unexpected ended. Loved it 💞
Jonah finally finds his person and it’s incredible, sweet, satisfying and heartwarming.
I would definitely recommend to any that’s looking for a story to fill you with love.

Summer Boy is a sweet summer romance that with a fun twist of fate that will warm your heart.

Jonah lives with his parents and works at the family restaurant in Maine. Recently they have been talking of change and he wonders what that means for him.

Micah is on a summer vacation with his parents, this year his sister picked a small town in the North. Thinking this time was going to be a bust, that is until he walked into a small restaurant.

This an enjoyable story of young love, sweet first and things we wish. Jonah and Micah are character that with a caring chemistry and understanding families that helps you get lost in the story.

❤ Ooh a fantastic start and a great first meeting for Jonah and Macah that I Ioved, the cat's got Jonah's tongue or whatever the saying is lol. Scenes play out and a brand new romance begins for the summer for the guys but there's a limited time frame of 9 days. The book was good but when it come to the ending it took it up another level aka a 5⭐ A fantastic ending for a HEA and written with both pov's.
Jonah 19 wanted more than working in his parents burger place but didn't know what, that's until Macah arrives in town.
Micah 20 was on a family vacation with parents and wished he'd stayed home.

Life can change in two weeks! Jonah, is stuck in a rut working in his family's restaurant. Micah, in his last year of college is forced to spend two weeks vacationing with his family in Stoney Brook. Being forced to slow down makes him feel stifled. This is basically a checkpoint in both mens' lives that can determine their attitude toward their futures. They each see something in each other that is fresh, new and intriguing. Do they act on it? Are life's questions answered? What happens after the two weeks? Great story. A time of discovery, patience, sensitivity and care. Nice characters and nice support base. Well done! I received an ARC and am volunarily leaving a review.

Summer Boy by TL Travis is part of a collection of short stories by a variety of writers based in a fictional location of Stony Brook, Maine.

The love interest in this book is between 19 year old Jonah, a local working in his parent’s restaurant and Micah, 20, visiting from Florida with his family.

Jonah appears to be demisexual as up to meeting Micah he has had no attraction to another person nor any idea what he wanted to do in life. Meeting Micah opens up new doors to his future.

The love interest was well written with a happy ending, albeit a little unlikely, but not impossible!

I was hoping that this would be a series of cute summer romances to stir the soul and heart but what I found were a series of books that felt as though they were over edited and missing half the story so that they fitted into the mould of small town full of secret gay young adults who don't know about each other, insta-love, tall-ship festival, all working in food services,

Whilst the books weren't for me, you might like them and please don't take my review as one to put you off reading any of the series. Please read them to make up your own mind.

This sweet summer love romance gave me all kinds of feels. These young men were what I think most young men at that age would act. Jonah's sexual awakening and first love along with Micah recognizing the wonders of Jonah and wanting to be with him had me glad fate brought them together. The author made their encounters and every day life as real as can be. Absolutely love the ending. It was a delight and entertaining. This was a nice addition to the American Boy series and I really enjoyed it.

What a delightful story that brings a smile to your face and pulls at your heartstrings. This is the story of Jonah and Micah, and it is so good! Forced to go on vacation with his parents, Micah never expected to find his one and then lose him. This is a story of love and it’s filled with acceptance from family members, a wonderful dog and an unexpected reunion. It was fate and I know you will enjoy this story as much as I did. You come away with a sigh and a heart filled with love.

Summer Boy was a quick, easy read. I liked Jonah- I thought he was just so sweet. He didn't know what he wanted out of life, until Micah showed up in town. I appreciated how patient Micah was with Jonah, as he came to some realizations about himself.
I thought the character development in this story was great- we really got a good feel for each of these guys and it was easy to imagine them falling for each other so quickly.

Neither Micah or Jonah was expecting the other to come along. Jonah has been drifting, not sure what he wants out of life and stuck in routine in his small town. Micah does not want to Stoney Brook, Maine with his family for two weeks when he could be hanging with friends elsewhere during his last summer in college. Meeting one another has an impact on both of them and the way they see life and love.
