godt førsteinntrykk med flinke forfattera som gjør stoffet forståelig, men vart bare verre og verre. vanskelig fag å lag ei bok for for d fins sånn ingen håndfaste regla uten 70 unntak men dem ska ha for innsatsen. den oppgaven som ba oss stikk fingern inni munnen for å kjenne kordan gag reflex funke e en smule ikonisk. levert eksamen i går og livet glise 😎
I learned a lot when reading (or partially skimming) this book: it starts with the basics of phonetics and phonology and goes into great detail which is probably well suited for linguistic students. I loved the audio samples on the website and appreciate someone pointing out the subtle differences in spoken English!
Another book I purchased and read/studied for one of my classes. As the title suggests, it provides more insight into the phonetic and phonological system in the English language. It covers many details, provides a lot of information, and even has audio recordings which really add onto its professionalism and how thorough this book is. Yet I'm still grateful for the classes though. Although it's a good book for those who wish to learn more about English linguistics, it cannot substitute a competent professor (especially since this is about vocals despite there being audio recordings).
Another crazy, very hard, difficult book I had to study, so another one who made my life miserable. :\ Buut very, very good, useful, informative if you're studying English Phonetics at any Faculty of Letters from anywhere. ;)
A good introduction to phonetics and phonology. I used it for a university course and while it is not very in depth it was useful as a starting point for the topics.
