Volume One: I don't really have much to say except this is so cute I can't why don't I read graphic novels more often, I really should... can't wait to read volume two! (spoiler since I suck at updating goodreads while I'm writing this I have in fact read volume two and am now just eagerly waiting for volume three) also I haven't actually read any of Alice Oseman's novels yet but now I definitely want to, especially Solitaire because Tori is already an intriguing character
Volume Two: I repeat heartstopper is the cutest heartstopper is the cutestheartstopper is the cutest where is volume three I need it now
Volume Three: I'm so addicted to Heartstopper and I feel like I've already said everything before but this volume in particular touched on some issues that I think will be explored in depth in volume four? I'm also curious as to what role Harry will play in volume four since he did seem to have quite a sudden character change. Tao/Elle though!!
I reread this recently and this is probably me changing my preferences but to be honest there wasn’t a lot of substance here. I think it’s cute but that’s pretty much it.
I usually enjoy lgbtq books especially the ones that focuse on their challenges and are more informative. However I found this series a little “too much” and “unrealistic”. I think there isn’t any main straight character in this book and I don’t know how this kind of unrealistic presentations are going to help the lgpbtq+ community. I wish it would show how minorities live in a straight dominated world and how everyone are co existing and life can still be joyful rather than having all the characters (including the teachers for god sakes!) from the lgbtq community! Also i found it particularly cheesy. I know it supposed to be for younger audiences but I can’t imagine any time in my life that I wouldn’t get awkward with all the romantic scenes that was going on in this book… again it was too much. That being said I generally hate romcomes that have cliché romantic conversations and so that might be just me who find this series uncomfortable and weird. Overall 2.5⭐️
Vol. 1 - This was charming and delightful. Lighthearted and hopelessly romantic. My only problem is that it felt ... inevitable. These two people are going to be together, end of story, period. Not to say it felt forced, just inevitable. There’s an afterword note from the author, she offers that these characters are supporting characters from another novel (one I haven’t read) and after she’d finished that book, she was drawn to this relationship and decided to tell how these two met and fell in love. And there it is. Hence my feeling of inevitability. This story wasn’t quite organic in evolution and development. Perhaps volume 2 will progress things beyond the events of that earlier novel and we will then be on fresh ground. In any case, I’m looking forward to vol. 2.
Vol. 2 - Another solidly good read. This is a really entertaining series. I love the characters and while the events and situations don’t quite feel “genuine” I don’t think it really matters. Charlie is just too darn mature for his age. And it does still have that feeling of inevitability, but to be honest, I don’t really care. Bring on Heartstopper: Vol. Three! I’m hooked!
Vol. 3 - This series is immediately addictive and charmingly sweet. My one complaint is that it feels unauthentic. These kids don’t feel like any kids I’ve ever known. They seem to be wiser, more worldly and far more mature than any teenagers I’ve known. There are moments which ring absolutely false, but these are outweighed by those that feel very genuine. I do love this series and I’m already eagerly awaiting Heartstopper, Vol. Four.
** spoiler alert ** Read this a long time ago and like the first book. It was so so good. I used to fall asleep feeling the coziness of this book ngl.

*** USING THIS TO CONTINUE MY REVIEW REACTION OF "The Wolf at Bay" (Big Bad Wolf#2) by Charlie Adhara.
***
I'm on page 210. They're at the engagement party, his dad just got taken by the FBI for interrogation.
And Oliver just got sick out of nowhere, I'm fucking suspecting he may have been poisoned, I'm thinking maybe someone knows he's a wolf and needed him to back off? Idk...
WHATTHEFUCK!? IS OLIVER IN HEAT OR SOMETHING!?!! it's gotta be, with the way he's acting. OH BOY!!! kinda surprised that the BSI haven't yet developed some kind of drug to suppress their cycles, this should be like a priority since they specialize in wolves and are working with wolves.
So his father kinda took care of Stephen Daugherty because his mom was so depressed with Rose, her daughter's passing that she couldn't take care of her own son. And Dean welcomed Stephen as his friend.
Stephen Daugherty froze when Cooper mention Alex Hardwick's remains being found. Hmm. Stephen believes and so sure that Rose and Hardwick weren't sexually involved, that Alex Hardwick was just helping Rose out because she was "unhappy" Don't know if I trust a 12 yearold's memory and perception.
Oh, so someone else was harassing Rose. Hardwick didn't took those naked photos of Rose, someone else was sending it to her demanding money, and that's why Alex Hardwick was withdrawing huge amounts of money, he was paying those blackmail demands he wasn't planning on leaving.
*I'm thinking of who the blackmailer was, LIKE WHO NEEDS MONEY IN THIS TOWN? *
Fucked up how Rose's mom knew she was being blackmailed and didn't do anything about it, even said she deserved it. Horrible mother. Doesn't deserve to be a mom.
WHATTHEFUCK!!! STEPHEN'S A WEREWOLF!!! I WAS FUCKING RIGHT! LET'S GO! This has a lot of implications, like the Daugherty family being werewolves.
WOAH! I'm shocked that Stephen knows about the Park Pack.
So those photos are to threaten to out Rose and her family as wolves if she didn't pay. I'm really thinking hard of we know anything about this blackmailer. And Alex Hardwick knew the existence of werewolves and knew Rose was one. Rose asked Hardwick for help and he kept paying for the photos. Rose wanted to enter the Valley Girl pageant to pay back Hardwick and also to spy for him because Hardwick was suspicious that something bad is going on in the event. That's when she died.
Confused on when Cooper connected that Rose was breaking in the Bells house for evidence of embezzlement. I thought she was there to just hook up with Jacob... WTF!? and apparently rose found the evidence, gave it to Hardwick and apparently approached Mrs Bell with it, DID I MISS SOMETHING... this came out of nowhere...OH COOPER WAS JUST CONFRONTING MRS BELL WITH A HYPOTHETICAL. didn't happen.
Hmmm, so Rose was actually seeing Eliza Bell when she was sneaking in via storm cellar (were they...you know... LEBANON?) And she knows another Park too, Delia Park. Oliver's cousin in DC. She must know anoth werewolves.
Eliza was secretly helping Rose to get ready for the Valley Girl pageant, helping her with what to wae and how to speak. And they kept their relationship a secret because her mom wouldn't approve. Hmmm. Eliza was even trying to help Rose out with her drug addiction. Rose admitted to Eliza that she was there to find out evidence of ebezellment but found none, at this point Rose was determined to win the pageant.
And Eliza's mom is sure that they will not find any evidence of embezzlement and she even offered for them to look at their records and files. I believe her.
Nothing stands out too much, although I think there's something more going on between Eliza and Rose, Eliza seem so goody goody even way back then that it looks off. I don't think Eliza's mom knows anything she's too snob and sure of herself to kill anyone. Although her husband reacted to Rose's name.
ALOT OF INFO DURING THE PARTY.

I doubt Sal West is the one who took those photographs. He don't look that tech savvy to me. Hmmm, they said that those photos were artistic...the only other guy we know who's artsy is GABRIEL BELL, although h e said he wanted to paint back when they were kids not photography and he's doing decals on pints now, no photos.
I don't think it's a good idea to go to Sal West's house at this late hours, fucking extra creepy although I'm kinda excited. Love how eerily quiet everything is on their way to Sal West's house.
Hmmm, Cooper saying how did Sal transfered or delivered his antique furnitures, it's gotta be Jacob Bell, Gabriel mention Jacob owns a moving company and does deliveries. Sal and Jacob might be connected.
WHATTHEFUCKINGFUCK!? a fucking camera set up in West's window pointing at the field behind there house is creepy af.
SAL WEST DEAD. haha no one is fucking falling for that weak ass suicide note typed in a fucking Microsoft Word document. IT'S FUCKING JACOB !!! I KNOW IT !!! we still don't know shit about him but Sal and Jacob are connected through Jacob's delivery company.
I can't believe Cooper is immediately believing that suicide note typed in Word. Kinda disappointed with Cooper. Well, it atleast remove the suspicion seat from his father which was Cooper's goal.
Sal West died of bluntforce trauma. Good that the FBI knows that the suicide note was bullshit and everything was set up sloppily.
LMFAO funny how the FBI agents are accusing them of murdering Sal. They even figured out that they're together haha. JESUS H CHRIST THIS WOULD BE FUCKING EASIER IF THE FBI AND BSI ARE WORKING TOGETHER. LET THE FBI KNOW ABOUT WOLVES SO THAT THEY CAN EXPLAIN SHIT.
LMFAO NOW OLIVER'S FUCKING ARRESTED WHILE POSSIBLY BEING HORNY AS FUCK HAHAHA, ITS GOTTA BE THE WOLF HEAT THING.
Understandable that his father would think that his mom killed Hardwick, this is one of my theories too. Oh, so his mom was going to take Dena and Cooper away to live somwhere else with Hardwick. She even properly talked to Ed about this but then she found out she was sick and Hardwick was having second thoughts.
AWSHIT! It's so sad how hard his father tried to change things for Cooper, so that he can hopefully come back to Jagger Valley and to him. I'm not gonna lie, kinda good that FBI agent Joon outed Cooper to his dad. I was afraid that Cooper would just leave his father again without telling him. That was a really special moment between father and son. It's good that Ed let Cooper know that he's proud of him and said that he should have said a lot of things to Cooper when he was still there as a kid.
---
269 pages in. They need to talk to Jacob Bell , I think he killed Sal West. Also I'm kinda afraid that the one who killed Alex Hardwick would be revealed to be his brother, Dean. He has motiv, seeing him with their mom and he was strong enough to wield that garden hoe...shit. I hope I'm wrong-_-
The Blue Crab Inn looks nice, love the marine base decor and the seafood. I hope there's a pool there.
Oliver's parents just suspiciously left all their children in a hotel and didn't come back for 5 days? And then their grandmother who their parents hated came in to get all of them, and said that their parents died in a car accident. WTF!? Then one day when Oliver was an adult his uncle Marcus told him that his father had died, murdered!? And they were fucking alive the whole time!? Wow so they just abandoned their kids in some hotel. FUCKING ASSHOLES. I don't care if his mom's alive.
So Oliver wanted to contact his mom but the pack did not approve and that's why Oliver broke off with his family's pack. Also the death of his father was suspicious and his family was hiding something from him..
At least Oliver knows that his mom's alive with her shitty emails, she sent three emails throughout their lives.
And there's a group called Wolf Independence Party, WIP a group of who wants to be free of the old families rules. Oliver's parent's were active members of a faction, makes sense why they hate his grandmother.
Awwfuck, truly special that Cooper said to Oliver that he's glad that he's in his life. Love how honest he's becoming. Jesus, Cooper admitting that he loves Oliver when they were in the middle of doing it was kind of a mistake ngl. But Oliver did murmured something to him right when he was about to sleep, WHATTHEFUCK DID OLIVER SAY TO HIM!!?? did he say I love you too or what!? Shit.
---
WTF IS COOPER THINKING!!?? going alone to meet with Stephen is a stupid idea. And no this is your work, asking Oliver to trust you that you can go alone shouldn't be this way, they should have protocols and safeguards with this kind of approach. BSI should have long ago developed to useful tools for their werewolf agents, maybe like a body spray that can mask your werewolf scent or some shit like that.
At least Oliver knows where Cooper's gonna be.
what the hell does Stephen that Cooper's in danger!? WHATTHEFUCK!? WHY HASN'T OLIVER SHIFTED FOR A WEEK!? And apparently it's dangerous and the person gets sick if you don't shift everyday!? Rose suppressed her wolf a week and basically killed her. Killed herself by overdosing because she couldn't take it anymore.
SO ALL THIS TIME OLIVER WAS GETTING SICK BECAUSE HE WASN'T SHIFTING... I FUCKING THOUGHT HE WAS JUST HORNY!!! LMFAO!!! Fucking why though... He doesn't look ashamed of being a wolf like Rose was... Hmm.
So Oliver was claiming him with his weird behavior the other night... Really fucking confused about what's going on with Oliver. Is like being horny part of the sickness due to not shifting.
WTF DOES COOPER MEAN THAT THERE'S A FIRST MURDER!? Maybe Rose was the first one... and that Hardwick and Sal West's murder is secondary? WHAT DID HE REALIZE!?
---
***I'm analyzing HARD everything we know about this case, so far I think Jacob killed Sal West to frame him for the murder of Hardwick. Still have no clue who actually murdered murdered Hardwick, Still don't know shit about who the black mailer is. Stephen said that Rose basically killed herself by Overdosing because she was losing her mind due to not shifting, I wonder who gave her the hard drugs, Stephen mention she didn't touch the hard stuff. OH SHIT WHAT IF ELIZA GAVE HER THE DRUGS!!! She said that they were friends and was helping her out, she gotta have noticed Rose's strange behavior. Also maybe Rose was posing naked and high for the camera is because that Eliza was taking them... Her friend and that's why she was posing in the woods. Although I really don't know why Eliza would blackmail Rose and wanted money since the Bell family are rich.***
Also pretty weird we still haven't seen or talk to Jacob Bell yet.
Good that he stood up for Oliver when Gabriel was talking shit about him. Nice that he's over this guy. Wish Cooper said something about Gabriel's fiance and how he thinks that it was just a sham to please his mother.
OHSHIT! COOPER'S CONFRONTING ELIZA!? WAS I RIGHT?! So Eliza accidentally killed Rose by giving her meth. She didn't know about the wolf thing. Eliza was mad at Rose for snooping for embezzlement evidence, that her mom was right and that she was just using her so she laced her weed with meth and killed her...
But Eliza truly loved and cared for Rose. They were genuine friends.
HOLYSHIT!!! ELIZA KILLED HARDWICK. Hardwick found meth in her room and was gonna tell everyone about out and Eliza killed him while he was crossing Cooper's yard. THAT'S THAT.
JESUS H CHRIST! NOW ELIZA'S ATTACKING COOPER. THIS FUCKING BITCH!!! Wrench to the head ain't good. Falling off the boat, then hitting your shin in the port's cements, Cooper's not walking anytime soon with a bone sting out of your leg. NOW HE'S FUCKING SINKING INTO THE WATER.
PHEW! glad Oliver saved him just in time. WOW! That was quick, Eliza being captured by Dean and Agent Joon. That'll ruin her campaign.
FUCK Cooper's dad saw Oliver change and is now pointing a gun at him. NOT GOOD. THANKGOD his dad understood.
Haha Cooper announcing that he loves Oliver and Oliver saying Ditto was adorable and funny.
Good to see that Oliver kinda shifted, hope it'll alleviate some of the sickness.
---
A fucking miracle that Cooper can still feel and move the leg where bone protuded.
Really stupid and irresponsible of Oliver to not shift just because he wanted to be there for Cooper to face his family. Can't he just like shift in the night and just sleep and shift to human again in the morning. PROBLEM SOLVED, he doesn't have to go running in the morning and dissappear.
Real good that they're clearly saying I love you to each other. No more confusion. They're both locked in.
WHATTHEFUCK!? OLIVER'S BEEN SUSPENDED!? Ah only three month... PHEW! I thought Oliver was gonna be jobless. I'm not gonna lie, 3months for revealing yourself as a werewolf is so light. What would happen to those who know about werewolves now?
It's good that his father and brother knows the whole truth about the BSI now and about werewolves.
Good that Oliver admits that he was stupid to not shift and risk his health. Wtf? Cooper thinks that leaving him alone e with his family isn't the only reason Oliver wasn't shifting... Interesting, maybe we'll find out in the next books?
Awwww adorable how they're showing their affection to each other to Cooper's family now.
THAT'S HOW IT ENDS! I like it. Alway love when book ends inside a moment.
---
Good book.
FUCK!!! I'M SO DISAPPOINTED THAT WE BARELY SEE ANY WOLF ACTION. we saw the damage Oliver did to Eliza's both and Oliver's face kinda change, that it... AND NO COOPER CUDDLING WITH A WOLF OLIVER EITHER. NO WOLF OLVER RUNNING AROUND BEING FREE AS HIS WOLF SELF.
IM FUCKING TEMPTED TO READ THE NEXT BOOKS IMMEDIATELY JUST TO SEE OLVER FINALLY SHIFTING. WE DON'T EVEN FUCKING KNOW WHAT COLOR OLIVER'S FUR IS!!! OR HOW TALL WEREWOLVES ARE IN THIS UNIVERSE, I'M HOPING THAT THERE FUCKING MASSIVE AND TALL AS A HUMAN WHILE QUADRUPED. ngl so far the series hasn't lived up to its name "Big Bad Wolf" but I still liked it.
The mystery was OK in this one. Wish it was more though, Eliza being the murderer was kinda anticlimactic. We didn't even know how she killed Sal West and where the hell was Jacob Bell at? we didn't even meet him wtf?
Wanted to see more of Gabriel and how Cooper was bullied by him and his friends when they were kids. Cooper should have confronted Gabriel about this and shittalk him about his "maybe" sham marriage to a woman. idk if gabriel is gay or bi...nonetheless would have like if Cooper confronted him with this.
I love that Cooper is now reconnected with his family and they know all about what he does in the BSI. i really wanted to see them explain the whole werewolves thing to Ed, Dean and Sophie and see how they reacted. I hope we get to revisit them at Dean and Sophie's wedding day.
So happy that Cooper and Oliver's relationship is official now and they both know what each other feel. Good for them.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
VOLUME 1 Nick is bullied at school because he's gay. Charlie, a senior introduces him to Rugby and they become friends. Soon, Nick realises that he has a crush on Charlie. VOLUME 2 Nick and Charlie becomes best friends.Charlie comes out as Bisexual. VOLUME 3 A trip to Paris, Nick and Charlie with their whole Paris gang and plenty other queer relationships. VOLUME 4 Charlie searches through eating disorders while Nick finds ways to tell Charlie he loves him. MINICOMICS Years ahead in the future, showing Nick and Charlie's relationship.
Trust me when I say this, you are missing out if you haven't read it. HeartStoppers is warm, comfy, and the coziest read you can find. It's graphic as in written in a comic book style. Took me nearly an hour to gobble all the versions up. And I have re read these so many times I have lost count. With each Volume, your love for Nick and Charlie is only going to increase. When you feel like the world is devoid of love and all the good things, pick up this story to feel the love again. And honestly, whatever I say won't be enough to praise the book.
HEARTSTOPPER by Alice Oseman is a young adult LGBTQ-themed graphic novel filled with Nick and Charlie's many little "kilig" moments. But this work of fiction does not stop there. . It may be leaning to young adult romance but between these kilig moments are also relevant - sometimes presented subtly - conversations on discovering, accepting, and dealing with one's sexual identity. Sex, bullying, and misconceptions in the context of SOGIE are also tackled here. . The author also includes how these issues and other conflicts among teenagers should be dealt with by parents and teachers. . I finished the three volumes of this bestseller in just one sitting (or maybe two, and sometimes lying down) and I cannot wait for its Volume 4 to be released next year. Aside from the first three volumes, the author also released mini-comics still with Nick and Charlie as the protagonists. . If you are a Thai BL fan, I think you would love this.
