This book is AMAZING with its detail and explanations!! It has very detailed photos AND drawings to help explain the personality traits based on facial shape. Its got great detail on face shape, front and side view. Nostril, eye, ear, and even facial and body whorls and what personalities seem to come with those attributes.
They are incredible and are a huge help to anyone training a horse or anyone who has gotten a new horse and wants to get to know them better!
This book is mainly to learn your horses personality, though of course your horses background history will determine a lot of its personality as well.
This book is a great starting point for learning the basics of your horses personality.

This book pertains to recognizing horses as individuals with different temperaments. It goes so far as to suggest you can determine a horses personality based on the shape of his head, profile, etc and other body parts.

There are drawings and black & white photo's depicting various markings and shapes and linking them with a particular personality.

There are some good ideas, but I've found the best way to get to know a horses personality is to be around them, observe, and handle. In my experience, some horses prefer a male or female handler no matter what their profile may suggest and will respond differently based on that alone.

I was trying to learn t touch massage, but that is not what this book is about. It is about assessing personality of horses and match with the rider and trainer. I think personality assessments based on physical characteristics are a load of crap. However, horses have been bred to behave in certain ways for hundreds or thousands of years, so I buy it slightly more in this case. The one great thing I got from this book is opening my eyes to truly see the horse in front of me.

Tellington definitely covers some interesting topics in this book. I'm not sure that I agree with a lot of her theories, mostly from the lack of scientific study or proof. Tellington also shows a lot of bias toward dish-faced horses aka Arabians. I'll have to give her theories a shot and see if they hold water.

I love this book and still refer to it, a lot. Her tips on how to massage and where to do specific type touches are remarkable. I also like how she decides a horse's personality or traits by looking at facial features. I don't know if they hold true in every case. It is obvious that she is partial to Arabians.

A really good "horse" book for those horse owners out there. If you're looking to buy a horse, this is a good book to take with you! It goes through the different parts of a horse and what they might mean, personality wise. It also includes the TTouch exercise. I found it to be very informative.

According to this book, a horses face gives clues about its personality. As strange as it might sound, based on what I've seen, this book seems quite accurate.
