A Certain Intimacy

Rate this book

An actress, still fresh from a painful breakup with her best friend, meets a beautiful young musician who almost immediately tries to pick her up.

Stunts and new lines can only distract a girl so much from the daydreams and memories of a love once ripe. Fresh blood always has the propensity to stir things. Since her adorable co-star Iris appears to be chasing her, Natalie Reyes grows close with the beautiful woman she's never met. Sweet and shy, with a mysterious darkness, and country singing roots, Iris's music is always a hit on the pop scene but her life is sadly unfulfilled. Her emotionally abusive ex-girlfriend Ellie is determined to win her back but her eyes are only for Nat. A familiarity with an old flame ignites Natalia's hunger for romance but that one fact is too close to comfort for Iris. A competition with an impossible person does not make for good love. Yet, on set, their eyes keep meeting. They become flustered in scenes and lose their train of thought. Will Nat be able to keep this one? Will Iris find a healthier space? Ex girlfriends, fights with bad managers, and devout stalkers make that a difficult question to answer.

This is a 2019 side-novel for the on-going popular series: Paper Dolls.

Paper Dolls rises again!!!

The Paper Dolls series is back again— & IT'S NATALIEʼS WORLD BABY!!! As much as I adore Olivia & Avery, it was incredible to finally be able to finally have the opportunity to know Nat on a deeper level beyond just relative to Olivia… even though there was still a lot of (in Jan Brady's voice) Olivia, Olivia, Olivia!!!

But seriously, it gave a different perspective & understanding, making it evident just how deep the pain & conflict of Olivia’s epic love with Avery had affected her & just how truly empty & broken she was left,grief-stricken & heart-broken to pick up the pieces, push down her feelings to keep the closest thing to family & that's ever felt like home she's ever known. (She's a WAAYYY better person than me… I'm just saying!!)

Natalie most definitely deserves love & I'm all in on hoping she's finally found her Forever with Iris!!! Can't wait to see wear the Paper Dolls series will take us next—just grateful that we get to continue re-connecting with the friends again we've missed so much!!!

Awersome story.

Another brilliant story with twists,stalkers.ex-,girlfriend. Natalie Reyes actress , her best friend is Olivia an ex and her wife Avery..Olivia and Nat have a complex history and she is about to star in a new film with Michael and also another actor/actress who she doesn't know. She meets Iris whose known better for being a musician/singer her partner Jared in the group called Anthems had been together for seven years but she is taking a break to do this film. This story is a fantastic read and worth getting.
Author's Blyth stone and Emma Chamberlain (Paper Dolls) They know how to keep writing great stories. Would love to read a book on how Olivia and Avery met but also how it affected Natalie

Interesting and Lovely

I liked that the story wasn’t just a romance. The situations left you with some anxiety but it was a great read! Few grammatical errors which is greatly appreciated!

Unhealthy relationships

This book is all about unhealthy people and relationships. It also suffers from poor editing. There are several things that need further explanation, such as what does Avery do...
