Something wicked is brewing…

Welcome back to Valport Springs, a quiet forest town full of mystery, magic, and secrets. Aradia Black is trying to regain her power and resist the temptation of the devil next door. She doesn’t remember her past, but moving back into the grand, gothic Victorian where she spent her childhood is beginning to reignite lost memories. She knows her family disappeared without a trace, and now it’s down to her to find out what happened to them. But someone in town is keeping secrets and doesn’t want her to succeed… When potions start to backfire and people go missing, Ari realizes she has found herself in the middle of a war that has raged for over 300 years. And if she ever wants to find out what happened to her family, first she is going to have to discover some dark truths that could well be her undoing. It's taken me some time to get through Moon Magic. This was nothing to do with the story, but because life happens!

If anything, my little sojourns into Valport Springs has been relief from everything going on in my life whilst reading it - some of the aspects of the book were darker, along the same vein as Black Magic - but this just adds to the intensity of the plot.

Favourite quote:
"One of my all-time favourite things to do is shop for books. Wandering into a store and being able to see them firsthand, to pick them up and hold them, it’s a magic all of its own.

You hold that world in your hands, and you have no idea what’s in store for you, but when you find the right one, the feeling grabs you, and it’s impossible to ignore."

This book was a step up from the first, and I really enjoyed it!

Ari grows throughout this story, as her memories slowly come back, as well as her magic, and some of her questions are answered. There's still many unknowns, but she now has some direction.

The chapters from Ludo's point of view were great, I liked getting his perspective. His relationship with Ari is a slow burn, but I like them together. I wasn't a fan of him in book one, but liked him a lot more in this story. I think having those parts from his POV helped.

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next! There was a lot of drama in this one, which is sure to continue.

As Memories come to light, more secrets creep up
Aradia and Ludo are back and this time things are heating up and the stakes have never been higher. Picking up right where book one ended, the story continues. Now, people are missing and memories are slowly being returned. Can Ari trust Ludo or is Aunt Marian right? This series will grab you, pull you in, and never let you go. I cannot wait for book three! I love the push and pull of these two and when things develop between them it is just so beautiful.

Yes! This series is getting better and better. So many eye opening things have occurred to ari this time around. She finally remembered what happens so many years ago. Her magic returned. Then she found out shocking news . I just loved this book there was more detail about ari and her childhood. Woohoo next up we head to Venezia! I can’t wait until book three comes out and what adventure lies ahead for ari and ludo.

Kassandra Cross sure delivered. So many unanswered questions after book1 and this one answered a lot and posed new ones. Nobody seems secret free and the mysterious events just keep you turning pages. Ari has so much to figure out and I hope it's with Ludo's help. I was on the fence with him after book 1.
One thing is for sure, the cat is so awesome and adds a nice touch. Loved it and can't wait for the next one.
