Believing that the U.S. government has lost sight of its ideals and beliefs, a militia group, lead by a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and a former director of the FBI, plans to overthrow the government and forever change the course of history. Original.
There's two big differences - the story and the book. I'll start with the book. It's not the best-written. Many characters have little personality and you don't get a feel of coming to understand them and cheer them on. The lady is added as a pretty weak attempt at putting some sexual angle to the story. It has its share of grammatical errors as well.
The story on the other hand is pretty damn good. The concept that the best of those defending us got sick at what we've become and decide to stop talking and do something about it is both scary and awesome at the same time. It's a definite one-time read, that's for sure.
Standard thriller, although a little bit of right-wing wish fulfillment. The buildup was good, but suddenly the book was over. The climax was small, the conclusion an afterthought. Would have liked a better pay off.
Instead of tossing this, I had to read it to see just how bad it could get. This is a treatise on how NOT to write a novel. Contains a glaring example of nearly every mistake an author can make.
I was really hoping to like this book but the writing was terrible. I don't know if its a bad translater or what but I found this book really confusing. I only made it about 15% in before giving up.
