From #1 New York Times bestseller Lexi Ryan comes a sexy love triangle about secrets, family bonds, and the kind of mistakes that haunt even the best of us.
When I met Alec Hayes in Vegas, I thought I’d stumbled into a love affair with the man of my dreams. Alec’s sexy, confident, and charming. Our night together was full of laughter and the kind of toe-curling kisses that tempted me to believe in fate for the first time in years.
Until I flew out to LA to surprise Alec and ran into the unnamed half-brother he’d admitted to despising.
But I know Oliver Rhett as soon as I see him.
Oliver’s the reason I stopped believing in destiny. He was my first love and my first heartbreak. And now he’s the reason I can’t be with Alec.
It’s not fair to give one man the scraps of my heart when Oliver would always be right there to remind me he still holds the rest.
But when Alec needs a favor, I can’t turn my back on him. Even if it means falling a little more for his gentle charm every day. Even if it means facing Oliver and remembering exactly how brazenly he stole my heart.
My plan is to walk away. I can’t make this family feud worse. But I didn’t realize just how hard a broken heart can fall.
Every Chance With You is the fourth novel in the Orchid Valley series. These books can all be read as standalones, but you’ll enjoy reading them as a series!
Award-winning author Lexi Ryan is a New York Times and USA Today bestseller of hot contemporary romance and sexy, action-packed YA fantasy. Her books have sold over a million copies. A former English professor, she considers herself lucky to have traded stacks of grading for emotionally charged storytelling. She is happiest when at home in Indiana with her husband and two children, where you can find her lifting weights, reading copiously, hanging out with her family, and thanking her lucky stars.
"I would let you shatter my heart if it meant one moment of feeling your love again." This is a love triangle and it takes place in the present but has flashbacks to years earlier. These flashbacks were absolutely necessary to get the full grasp of the story. It’s about loving and losing, heartbreak and redemption, and a hero who would lay everything at the heroine’s feet. And I loved every moment of this book!
”The way she smiles at me when I show her that she's already stronger than she thinks? I'm pretty sure I could move mountains.” I usually don’t read love triangles because I find myself falling for one of them more than the other. This was exactly the case here. But Lexi Ryan keeps us guessing, and you’re only sure of who the heroine is going to pick at around 75% of the book.
”I can't fall for this girl but sometimes I don't know if I'm protecting her or myself.” This book tells the story of Savannah, stuck between the man who broke her heart in the past, Oliver, and the man with whom she could have a future, Alec. Both of them are pretty amazing in their own way, but my heart beat for one. It’s not that the other wasn’t worth it, just not… as much.
”When I let you get on your knees for me, we'll both know you want to be there. Got it?” In the middle of it, there are two other stories. One, of female empowerment and how Savannah can be so much more than she thinks she is. Her family is broken, her will is broken from an ex-boyfriend who was nothing but an asshole, but she can rise above it, and find her own strength in the process.
”Why do you care who touches me when you won't?” Does one of them boost that change in her, and help her realize her worth? Yes. But she’s already her own woman and she knows what she wants. If I were her, I would have made up my mind between them a lot easier, though. Like I said, I play favorites.
”You were always mine, his hands say. And I was always yours.” The other story is a family feud between two half-brothers, and a quarrel that goes way beyond just fighting for a woman. But maybe that woman can become the reason why they can finally put the past behind them, and move on. There are twists and turns and even though I wasn’t surprised by them, they kept me turning the pages.
”Tell me you missed me. Fucking lie to me if you have to.” I loved the steamy scenes. I loved the tension, both past and present. I loved the angst - I think this was the angstiest book I’ve read by this author. It came to a point when it was unbearable - and yes, I read the last page. I just needed to know before I threw my Kindle against the wall. Sue me.
”And I'm no hero. But I feel like one when I'm with you.” The ending is everything. Nothing pleases me more than seeing someone being loved by who they are and finally getting the HEA they deserve because they’re worth it. Not all heroes roll into town riding a white horse and are perfect in every way - some of them don’t see themselves as heroes at all. And that makes it all even better.
What a complicated, wild ride we have just completed! Two brothers, one from her past, one could be her future, told in present time and flashbacks. We need every chapter to understand the complexity of each character. Add in a twist or two and plenty of secrets, and this book is hard to put down.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Oh boy...this one was a train wreck and just when you thought it couldn't get worse it did. The drama was crazy and all of the people were a hot mess. So much insecurity laid at the foot of the parents, which was very justified. By the time I got done with the book I was glad to be done with it and I also think Savvy ended up with the right brother.
"Tonight, I feel like a thief - stealing moments in time with a woman I know I can't keep. I'm not sorry for it. I can't be."
Savannah Downing had an unforgettable night with Alec Hayes in Vegas and she thought she could have something with him. However, a startling revelation meant he was off-limits to her - he was the half-brother of Oliver Rhett - the guy she fell for at college and who broke her heart. A couple of years later, she needs a fake fiancé to interview for her dream job, and Alec needs a girlfriend for his sister's wedding to keep his overbearing mother off his back. Savannah tries to keep her attraction to him at bay, while he never gives up hope that she would give him a chance. Unfortunately, when Oliver comes to Orchid Valley for the wedding, his presence adds a whole other layer of complication.
"The truth is that I can't stand the idea of watching him touch you. Dance with you...I can't stand thinking of you in his bed."
When I started reading this book, I really wasn't sure who Savvy would end up with because Alec was such a gorgeous guy and Oliver was intriguing. However, the more I read, the more I realised exactly who I wanted her to be with. The storyline moves back and forth between the present and eight years ago, when Savvy and Oliver were together. Their full back story is gradually unfolded, while things are happening in the present. I was completely immersed in this sexy and emotional story, and the secrets that were uncovered. Although love triangles are not my favourite trope, this story was really well done, and I found myself wanting all three people to have a win. I was so happy with how everything worked out and the ending was amusing (that Smithy!) and beautiful.
4 Star Review Every Chance With You (Orchid Valley #4) by Lexi Ryan
What a complicated story Every Chance With You is. When Savannah “Savvy” Downing met Alec Hayes in Vegas she thought she had finally found “the one”. When she flies out to LA to surprise Alec, it is Savvy that gets the biggest surprise when she meets the half brother that Alec dislikes and it turns out to be Oliver Rhett, the man who broke her heart and destroyed her belief in a happily ever after many years ago.
What follows is a complicated journey that I wasn’t sure will be resolved satisfactorily. Agreeing to help Alec, Savvy needs to sort out her feelings for both the man from her past and the man who could be her future. Alec wants to pursue a relationship with Savvy but she has to come to terms with the past and her feelings.
I’m not a huge fan of love triangles so I was a little uncertain as I read this book, particularly since I had no idea who she would end up with. The story was full of twists and turns and it wasn’t until the final chapter that everything was resolved. An entertaining story that was well written.
So, I absolutely love love love Lexi Ryan's writing and her Orchid Valley series has been awesome, but it's been soooo long between books. I honestly can't remember anything about the previous books, and I didn't read the blurb for this before I jumped in. Or any reviews or literally have any clue what I was getting into.
In fact, I picked it up this morning to read for a minute while the kids were playing nicely, and I've only just surfaced. I mean honestly, I am just speechless. I literally can't tell you a thing about the story because I loved that it kept me guessing. And the angst was just so perfectly balanced that I have no words.
I honestly feel like October is starting off as an absolutely blessed month for books. Everything I've picked up has been great. And this is just the absolute perfect example of what an amazingly talented author Lexi Ryan is. Just gah! How am I supposed to sleep now?
Let me start this review by saying, I dislike a love triangle. I usually want nothing to do with them. It’s a personal preference to what I want in a romance. That being said, Lexi Ryan set out to write a book and it ended up being a love triangle. I got an ARC copy, and I went into it opened eyed thinking I wasn’t going to love it, but hey… It’s Lexi Ryan and I adore her books. Let me tell you… if there is someone that is going to get me to love a love triangle.. it’s Lexi Freaking Ryan.
I am going to keep it pretty vague so that I don’t give anything away at all. This book is not what I was expecting at all. The character arcs and development that you see in these characters is immense. The set-up of the book is a little off putting at first, but as the book continues it works and makes sense. You can see why and where Savvy is confused and mis-stepping. You can see where Alec creates an idea of people. You can understand why Oliver is the way he is. Then you see what changes their thought processes. There is so much emotion and thought packed into this book. And the outcome isn’t what you thought it was going to be. I don’t think I will be diving into another love triangle any time soon, but that’s me. This book is wonderful and amazing, and it was great to be back in Orchid Valley.
POV: Multi 1st Person PoP: 49% Type of Series: Series of Standalones
So excited for another Lexi Ryan read and what a wild ride! Savvy and Oliver have a past that nobody else knows about, and when she meets Alec, she thinks that he’s the perfect guy for her, until she finds out that Alec and Oliver are half-brothers. Immediately retreating and avoiding Alec like the plague, when she realizes she needs a fake fiancé for a potential business opportunity, and he needs a date to his sister’s wedding, they agree to play the parts for each other. Alec, hoping to win Savvy over and make a real attempt at a relationship, pulls out everything he can to convince her that they’re perfect for each other. She follows along until she finds out that Oliver will actually be in attendance, and he spills the beans to Alec about parts of their past and it changes everything. We get to know how Oliver and Savvy met each other all those years ago, and how everything blew up between them when they were perfect for each other. We also see how fate brings them back together, and how fate would’ve brought them back together earlier had they read what Oliver’s father had given Savvy before his death. The twist and turns of fate is what really had me enthralled with this book and kept me on the edge of my seat, and I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
After meeting Alec and spending some time with him Savvy realizes that he is a man that she would like to see again with until she realizes that his half brother is same man who left her devastated. Not seeing anyway that this would ever end well she decides to distance herself from him and the situation.
When circumstances unfold and they each need a date to a social event it seems the best solution is going with each other. The one thing that she hadn’t considered that it would also mean spending time with the man who hurt her in the past and the man who is pursuing her in the present or the conflicts it would raise.
Say takes us on an emotional journey as she must make peace with the past and decide who she wants in the future. The characters are compelling and there are a few twists but in my opinion I am glad she made the choice she did.
This story is told in both the past and present. I loved that we got to see Savvy with Oliver and then with Alec, but eventually the past and future collide.
Savvy met Oliver while in school and they formed a strong connection, however, things between them didn’t end in the best way. Later Savvy meets Alec and they have an amazing connection and form a great friendship. Savvy does have chemistry between both men, however, I felt like her connection was much stronger with one over the other throughout the story.
This was a different storyline, but still enjoyable from start to finish. I loved how it was told with past and present and it really helped provide the full picture.
If you’re looking for a love triangle, second chance this is one to check out.
Savvy and Alec have a connection. The problem is she also has one with his half-brother Oliver. Savvy and Alec had spent one night together in Las Vegas and she was excited to see if there was something more in their future. However, she finds out that his half brother is her first love and the man that broke her heart, Oliver.
This book had such an interesting format with the story alternating between a few chapters in the present and then a few chapters in the past. It was a good way to give out a little information at a time as Savvy struggles with which guy is right for her.
This was a really nice read and I hope there is more to come from the Orchid Valley series.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Ohhh the angst! This entire book, i didn’t even know who I wanted Savvy to end up with. This was a great read, and I loved (and hated some) of the characters. I’d recommend this book.
i DETEST love triangles but with that being said, i still gobbled this up. the angst, the pining and longing in this... oh my words
savannah meets alec in vegas (from book 1) but then spends the next two years rejecting his advances because of a secret she's withholding... that she knows his half brother oliver. this book jumps between the present (with alec) and to the past (with oliver) and how her past is catching up to her present which makes it harder because she's in a fake engagement with alec.
alec was so so sweet and gentle and kind. “You’re still hung up on her, aren’t you?” I wish I weren’t. “If she wanted anything to do with me, I’d be there in a heartbeat, but she’s made her feelings on the matter clear.” Except I catch her watching me when we’re in the same room and find her leaning into me anytime we stand close.
“How’d you know about The Rage?” Because I make it my business to know all of Savvy’s dreams.
When we were in Vegas, drunk on insta-love, we saw a ring like this in a shop window, and I told him I wanted something like that for my engagement ring. I can’t even identify all the emotions tangling in my chest right now, but there are so many I can feel them crawling up my throat and choking me. “It was supposed to be a joke. We were playing.” I shake my head. “I never meant . . .” Except I had. “Relax. I have a good friend who owns a jewelry store on Rodeo Drive. It’s a loan. I wanted you to be able to wear a ring I knew you would’ve picked if this weren’t pretend.” My eyes fill with tears. “Alec . . .” I shake my head. “I don’t deserve you. I don’t deserve any of this.” “You deserve everything.”
“Tell me this isn’t a dream.” “Does it matter?” I ask, though I know what he means. We’ve been circling each other all these months, and he’s kept his distance because that’s what I asked for, but that never made the want go away. “It does to me.” “Because I’ve already dreamed this a million times.” He comes onto the bed, supporting his weight on his elbows and hovering over me. “But the dreams always fade in the morning. And I never want to forget this.”
but ultimately it's oliver that wins and i think i sensed it from the beginning. oliver rescues her when her brother and ex boyfriend puts her in a very difficult and dangerous position. he offers her a place to stay as she's homeless. he builds her up after her ex boyfriend has torn her down with his mean words and filled her up with insecurities.
the past:
“That’s my girl.”
“If you want something from me, Savvy . . .” He snakes his free hand under my shirt, stroking his thumb over my ribs before sneaking beneath my waistband. “You want something? Have the fucking courage to tell me.”
“What do you want? My hands?” The hand on my side shifts up and skims the underside of my breast through my bra. Once. Twice. “Maybe here? Or maybe . . .” His hand dips, and his fingertips invade beyond the waistband of my shorts. His knuckles brush the front of my panties. “What would I find if I touched you here? Would I be right?”
“Would this tell me your secrets? Would this tell me the truth? The real reason you dropped to your knees when I walked in this room? Not because you’re pissed, but because you want me inside of you however you can get me?”
When I look up from cleaning his wound, Oliver’s smiling down at me. “What?” I ask He shakes his head. “Just didn’t know you cared.”
“Because you can tell me. If there’s something you need.”
“I don’t want anyone else. All I can think about is you.” “I can’t stop thinking about you.” Her hand squeezes mine. “You haunt my dreams. You’re the reason I wake up hard every morning and the reason I rush home every night.”
“No one’s ever looked at me the way you do,” she says breathlessly. I chuckle. “I find that hard to believe, Savvy. You’re fucking beautiful. It’s impossible to miss.”
“Someone who gobbles up every little bit of you that you give. Like it’s a gift.” She leans her head to the side, giving my mouth access to her neck. I gently suck the tender spot beneath her ear before releasing and waiting for more. “I don’t mean physically. I mean . . .” “I know what you mean. And you’re right. I can’t get enough of you. Of all of you.”
“That first morning was a fluke. I usually change at the gym, but I realized I forgot my dress clothes for my meeting with my advisor. Then you were standing in my closet in a T-shirt and a thong, and I couldn’t breathe.”
“The second morning I came home early, I didn’t even have an excuse. I felt like a fucking idiot. But there you were. In another T-shirt and another pair of panties that showed me the curve of your ass.” I grip one hip and squeeze. “All I wanted was to bend you over and sink my teeth into it. That’s the first thing I noticed about you when we met—this fine fucking ass.” I squeeze the fleshy globes and groan at the feel of her in my hands. “At first I couldn’t decide if you were trying to fuck with my head or if you were completely oblivious to what you were doing to me.”
“Every fucking day. Every morning when I’d watch you make coffee in nothing but a thin shirt and a skimpy pair of panties and every night when I’d imagine you sleeping in my bed. I’ve wanted you from the beginning, and I only slipped that once. Only let myself cross my own lines that one time.”
“What are you afraid of?” “Because if I’m willing to fuck up my whole schedule just to get my eyes on you every morning, what will I fuck up to get a chance to do this every day?” “What if you didn’t have to fuck up anything? What if you could have me and everything you wanted?” It’s not possible, but it doesn’t matter because I’m not sure there’s anything I want more than her.
“You wreck me in the best way,” he murmurs against my lips.
“I’ll take care of you. In whatever way you need, I’ll do it. You have my word.”
“You fucking terrify me.” “Because I might be pregnant?” It’s the first time I’ve said the word since the night we had unprotected sex, and when it hits the air, I half expect him to flinch, but he doesn’t. “You terrify me because if you’re not pregnant, I’m going to have to come up with another excuse to keep you.”
“When you lose every good thing in your life, you stop wanting the good things at all. Knowing what’s coming hurts too much. You terrify me because you make me want to risk losing something good again.” “You won’t lose me.” He wraps his big hands gently around each wrist then turns his face from side to side to press a kiss into each of my palms. “It would serve me right if I did.”
“Yes. I stole it. For you. Because I thought I loved you, and I wanted to do something good for you. Because you’re right, you know. I wanted to believe you were the hero, and you’ve been warning me all this time that you’re not. I just didn’t peg you for my villain.” Thought I loved. Thought. Past tense. I knew this couldn’t last. I’m not the kind of guy who gets to be loved. I’m the mistake. The one they walk away from. “I didn’t mean to hurt you,” I rasp. It’s the only thing I can say without falling to my knees and begging for something I don’t deserve. Something that would never work.
the present:
“I’ve thought about you every day since you walked out my door. When you showed up on his doorstep, I wanted to believe whatever was happening between you two had something to do with me. Naïve of me, I realize, since you came all this way to make sure I wouldn’t be ruining it for you.”
“Tell him whatever you want, Savvy. Tell him all of it. I already got more of you than I ever deserved. I hope you have a nice life.”
“Other than try to wake up from this nightmare? I guess it won’t matter soon anyway. Once you move in with Jared, I won’t have a reason to be at the house. I’ll avoid, avoid, avoid, and let them live happily ever after.” How can the twist of a metaphorical knife in the gut hurt so fucking much? When I press my hand to my stomach, I half expect to feel the sticky heat of blood.
“Alec loves her, and if this were anyone else, I’d tell you to back off. But this isn’t just anyone. This is Savvy. You loved her on another level. There are people we love and then there are the people who are stitched into our hearts. You left half of yours behind when you left her.”
“I’ll take you anywhere you want to go.”
“It’s bad enough,” he continues, “that every time I close my eyes I remember how you looked, standing in his house in nothing but his shirt after a night in his bed. I’m making myself fucking crazy, and coming here is the worst kind of masochism, because I know it will make this ache in my chest so much worse.”
“But I can’t, Savvy. I fucking can’t do that. Not when . . .” Taking my hand, he skims his fingers over my palm before pressing it to his chest. “Tell me you don’t feel that. Tell me you feel nothing when we touch. Tell me it’s all gone for you. Because if you do, maybe I’ll believe that someday it will go away for me too.”
“I never stopped loving you.” “Don’t,” I rasp. “You never loved me. Don’t pull that shit now.” “You know I did. And you felt the same, or you wouldn’t have run the way you did.” “I’m sorry I couldn’t walk away. You deserve better.”
“And to think I once didn’t believe it was possible for you to be any more beautiful,” he says, his voice a low rumble. “Time has proven me wrong.”
“Fucking look at you,” he whispers. His fingers skim across my collarbone then dip down to ghost over the swell of my breast. “Tell me you missed me. Fucking lie to me if you have to. I’ve missed you. So goddamned much.”
“What I want doesn’t concern you.” “You’re wrong about that. It’s always concerned me. From the first night we met, there was nothing that concerned me more than giving you what you wanted.”
“You were the only person who ever thought better of me. The only one who believed there was any kindness in this bitter heart. And I ruined that, didn’t I? Now I’m standing here wondering if I can ever convince you to see that side of me again.” I still see it. I know who you are.
“Today was me finally getting to touch the woman who walked away from me eight years ago. Today was me crossing a line because I fucking love you.”
BEST QUOTE “You were always perfect for me. If you gave me another chance, I would stick around for every second of it. I would let you shatter my heart if it meant one moment of feeling your love again.”
“I hate that my timing made any part of you think this was about him. I loved you long before you met my brother, and I will love you long after you marry him.” His throat bobs as he swallows. “You deserve the hero, Savvy. You always have. And for all my objections, there’s nothing that hurts more than knowing I’ve finally convinced you that hero can’t be me.”
“I’ve fucking missed you.” His breath is ragged. “I didn’t want to leave, but I didn’t think it mattered. You’d walked away, and I didn’t understand how you could possibly come back. I was afraid I didn’t deserve you. I’m still afraid.”
“Do you want me?” I ask. “With every piece of my soul.” “Then I’m yours.” “I will do whatever necessary to prove I can be your hero.”
THE FACT THAT ALL THIS TIME THE FATHER WANTED SAVVY TO MEET OLIVER AND NOT ALEC TOO??? OH MY GOODNESS “Your info?” He narrows his eyes. “You’re acting weird. What is it?” It shouldn’t matter. In fact, it doesn’t really matter to me, but I know it would mean so much to Oliver. My hands shake as I pull out a small slip of paper. I recognize Charles’s blocky script—even all these years later—and bite my bottom lip as I read the note. Trust my intuition. Oliver Rhett – Crossport University
“I dropped it in the bag with everything else, but this envelope is one your father gave to me.” I hold his gaze. “He told me he thought I’d be the perfect match for his son, and he wanted his son to someday have the family he deserved as a child.”
“He gave me this envelope and said he wanted me to reach out to his son in a few weeks.” Tears spill over and onto his cheeks. “Alec. He was always looking for the perfect match for Alec.” “After everything you told me, I assumed it was Alec too, but Oliver”—I wave the envelope in the air—“this was who he wanted me to contact. He wanted me to be with you because he wanted you to be happy, and some instinct of his told him that I could be your family.”
THE PROPOSAL “Savannah, you are the love of my life.” “Sometimes I feel like I’ve been lonely since the day my mother died, but I’ve never been lonely a single day I spent with you. I’m told I can be a little grumpy”—Rose cackles from the porch—“but that I’m better when you’re around. And I’m no hero, but I feel like one when I’m with you.” “Which is all to say that I am better with you near me, and life is better with you in it.” I pull the ring box from my pocket and open it. “If you marry me, I’ll do everything I can to make sure your life is better with me in it too.”

Angsty, emotional and complicated, Every Chance With You is a rollercoaster of a read.
With great, relatable characters and full of twists and turns, this story had me captivated and guessing until the very last page. All three of the main characters are amazing, and the plotline flows through past and present seamlessly - weaving an touching tale of secrets, heartache and healing.
Alec and Savvy have a past. The problem is, Oliver and Savvy had a past first. Imagine Savannah’s surprise when she find out the guy she lived with in college and the guy she hooked up with in Vegas are brothers! Alec wants more but Savannah is still trying to figure out what to do with the remnants of her broken heart.
I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of this book and all I can say is that Lexi Ryan is the Queen of angst when it comes to love triangles. I honestly didn’t know who she should end up with or who she was going to pick until the last chapter or two of the book. This was supposed to be the last book in the series but now I can’t help wishing for one more.
Every Chance With You was such a beautiful story of second chances. I'm not a big fan of love triangles, but somehow I forget that when I pick up a Lexi Ryan novel. She writes so phenomenally that I pick them up anyway and forget why I hate them in the first place.
All three of the main characters were amazing. They each had these wonderful qualities, but none of them were perfect... In fact they all suffered from insecurities brought upon them by their parents and past loves, but somehow these imperfect people all love so hard. I also adored Rose, she was such an amazing sister. I especially loved her relationship with Oliver and that she never let anyone influence how she felt about him.
I really loved the way Lexi set up the book. She bounced back and forth between the past and present, so we get Savvy and Oliver from 8 years ago and then we get Savvy and Alec (and Oliver) as the current time. It made for such a great flow of their stories, and it also made it hard to decide who to root for, especially in the beginning. This one was pretty angsty, I especially loved the mystery aspects, I had a good time trying to figure them out.
I'm really happy with who Savvy ended up with and that the other brother got what I assume is a happy ending as well. I felt confident in my choice around the halfway mark and around the 75% mark I knew if she didn't choose my guy I may have tossed my kindle in a fit of rage... I also loved how some of the brother's unresolved pasts came to light, it allowed them to finally make peace which I know Savvy and Rose were thankful for.
I absolutely loved Every Chance with You by Lexi Ryan, the fourth story in her Orchid Valley series. It was an incredible story, filled with everything that I love in sizzling romance stories. I loved every page, and it was impossible to put it down. Each book in the Orchid Valley series keeps getting better and better. Lexi Ryan has once again proven that she is a wonderful storyteller, and Every Chance with You did not disappoint. I love that she writes her stories in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love knowing what the main characters are thinking and feeling. My favorite moments in Every Chance with You are the lighter moments where I found myself smiling and laughing aloud. I also love the parts that pull at my heartstrings and cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. Every Chance with You is filled with all that and so much more. Every Chance with You is the love triangle love story between Savannah “Savvy” Downing, fitness instructor and half-brothers Oliver Rhett and Alec Hayes. Savvy and Oliver met in college where Oliver was completing his MBA and sold his car to pay off a gambling debt of Savvy’s brother. Rhett gives Savvy a place to live and Savvy agrees to help Rhett recover something that belongs to him from some “Silver Fox.” While living together they start a relationship that Savvy knows will not last since she knows once Oliver completes his MBA his is moving away. Once Savvy recovers everything in the chest that Oliver claims belongs to him, she hands it over to him and walks away from him. When she returns several days later to talk to Oliver, she learns that he moved away. Years later Savvy heads to Vegas to celebrate her best friend, Brinley Knox’s birthday. While there Brinley reunites with her first love Marston Rowe. Marston is in Vegas with his partner, Alec Hayes. Savvy and Alec spend time together in Vegas, but Savvy is not sure she sees a future between them. Three months later Savvy appears at Alec’s door in lingerie and a trench coat and is surprised when Oliver opens the door. Savvy walks away, she remembers Alec commenting about his relationship with his brother, and she does not want to come between them. Savvy has not seen either Oliver or Alec since then. Savvy applied for a position to grow her fitness business. During the interview process Savvy states that she has a fiancé, and the owners want him when she visits their L.A. based location. Alec overhears Savvy dilemma and volunteers to be her fiancé if she is willing to play his girlfriend as his sister, Rose’s wedding at The Orchid so that his mother does not set him up with a date. Alec gives Savvy a ring to wear during their meeting that is similar to one that they saw together in Las Vegas. She forgot to take it off when meeting Alec’s family, and his family assumes they are engaged. I loved this story! Lexi Ryan kept me guessing as to who Savvy was going to choose for her lover. As Savvy spends time with Oliver and Alec, Savvy shares her secrets and insecurities making her vulnerable to them. Oliver and Alec share their own insecurities with Savvy. A surprise plot twist occurs that I did not see happening, and that changes everything for Savvy. I love when Savvy gets real with her true feelings for the man she chooses and open to each other in the emotionally charged, gut wrenching dialogue that transpires between the two of them. Every Chance with You felt like a family reunion and catching up with all the other characters from the other books in the series. I love the characters in Every Chance with You; they feel like family. I enjoy all the interactions among the characters, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I love the changes that Savvy was able make within herself with the help and encouragement from her friends and Alec and Oliver. I love how a secret is revealed that destroyed the relationship between Oliver and Alec and the heart-to-heart conversation between Oliver and Alec regarding the misunderstanding. Every Sweet Revenge is filled with all the elements that I have come to love and expect in Lexi Ryan stories. I love the bittersweet and poignant moments, as well as the surprise plot twists. Every Chance with You was a wonderful story that is both heartbreaking and heartwarming and a beautifully written tribute to Savvy. She is truly a very strong female character and I love her that she is loving herself and making her dreams come true. I love how everything gets resolved and that Savvy get her happily ever after with her man, and the surprise discovery at the end. Highly recommend this love triangle love story.
Tropes: Love triangle; second chance romance; roommates turned lovers; opposites attract
It’s been a while since I’ve dived into Lexi Ryan’s Orchid Valley series. Returning to it was like a breath of fresh hour. To be honest, I’m not a fan of love triangles, and love triangles with half-brothers can be tedious. Lexi Ryan’s Every Chance with You was compelling and deliciously dramatic. Her storytelling in this book engaged me, and it forced me to look beyond a trope that I don’t often like because, in my opinion, she wrote it well.
The story follows Savannah “Savvy,” Alex, and Oliver. Savvy finds herself in a predicament when her brother uses her savings to place a bet on her boyfriend’s MMA fight. When the boyfriend throws the fight, Savvy finds herself the target of the people her brother owes the money to. Oliver, a student at the college where she attends, who has come to her rescue previously, saves her once again. Realizing that her boyfriend betrayed her, she knows she can no longer live with him. Oliver invites her to stay at his apartment. The only stipulation is she helps him with a project. As Oliver and Savvy live together, they fall deep into attraction, but Oliver makes it clear that he isn’t a relationship guy. When Savvy falls in love with Oliver, and tragedy strikes, Savvy and Oliver split. Eight years later, they find themselves in each other’s orbit. The problem? Savvy had a wild, $exual night with Oliver’s half-brother, Alex. When Savvy sees Oliver again, all of her feelings are still there. Will she choose Alex, or will she and Oliver find their happy ending?
The way that Lexi Ryan balances the storyline, flashing back into Oliver and Savvy’s story, while jumping forward again into her and Alex’s story allows the reader to balance their opinion about the two men. This is how Ryan undermines the typical tension of a love triangle. It’s clear that Savvy and Oliver’s connection is deeper than Savvy and Alex’s, so, when Savvy finally chooses, it’s easy to accept her choice.
Additionally, more of the Orchid Valley characters are deftly placed in the story to provide Savvy with the support she needs as she traverses the complication of the two men.
Lastly, I love how Lexi Ryan highlights a message about body image. Savvy’s maturity about her body and eating habits underscores the idea of balance, that working out should not overtake your life with the same message for eating. Her struggles are real, and Ryan’s messaging through Savvy’s journey easily connects with readers’ struggles.
Lexi Ryan’s Every Chance with You surprised me. I love this series, so I hoped this story would be a solid read. I didn’t intend for it to impress me as it did. Don’t be afraid of the love triangle of this book. I think you’ll be surprised by the balance that Ryan crafts in this newest Orchid Valley story.
This story was so moving and emotional, and oh so beautiful. It took my breath away as I got to know Savvy, Oliver, and Alec and the relationships they have with each other. This is an emotionally twisty read and the roller coaster journey had me completely engaged from start to finish. I love the way Ryan weaves her stories going from past to present helping us to understand and empathize with each character. Oliver and Alec's father likes to control everyone and they feel competitive towards each other, and leaves Oliver feeling like an outsider. Savvy also has a strained relationship with her family that contributes to her choices. Both Oliver and Alec enter into her life at different times, providing what she needs most at that time, and capturing her heart. But when she finds out later that they are brothers, it turns her whole world upside down, breaking her heart even more. Alec and Savvy see each other alot because he is a friend and business partner to her best friends' husband. They have explosive chemistry, but Alec doesn't know why Savvy is holding herself back. When he needs her to pretend to be his girlfriend for his sisters wedding, Savvy reluctantly agrees. She knows she needs to tell him her secrets, but decides to wait, not wanting to ruin the wedding. But soon things spiral out of control when Oliver unexpectantly makes an appearance. They all try their best to keep up appearances, but as the secrets they are keeping start to be revealed, it shatters all their lives. I was so consumed by this complex and rich story, and learning who Savvy, Oliver, and Alec really were. The relationship between these three characters felt deeply human, and I needed to know how they could resolve what was between them. This is what Ryan does so well as she makes me fall for all three of them, pulling at my heart string's, making me go through a gamut of emotions, leaving me feeling breathless, and loving every moment!
Who would have thought that after college and 8 long years Oliver Rhett’s heart would still ache for Savannah “Savvy” Downing because he wasn’t and still isn’t the type to fall in love or so he says …. Except he NOW has to contend with his step-brother, Alec Hayes ..
Savvy’s dream is to be on The Rage Fitness App. BUT she need a fiancé/husband for the interview because that is one of their weird application requirements ?? Where is she going to find one of these, first in such short notice and two who can fly to LA for the interview ?? Walk in .. Alec Hayes, who is her best friends husband business partner and her one-time Vegas Fling …. And guess what …. He needs a favor too !! Except when Savvy and Alec made a pact to help each other they never thought that Oliver would show up at Rose’s wedding festivities at The Orchard. Savvy might think she can hide in her workout studio at The Orchard where she works but being at the wedding with Alec might be an issue. Ever thought they are doing this as friends to help each other, Alec wants more and so does Savvy BUT she knows she can’t because her heart belongs to someone else and it wouldn’t be fair to Alec. He just doesn’t understand why she wont go the extra since they had Vegas ? Because it would break his heart or .. would it ??
Everyone has secrets we all know that BUT the one that Oliver and Savannah keep from everyone could destroy a lot of people and keep they form each other. He would give her the WORLD if she would let him !!
There is underground fighting, secrets, love and understanding I the installment that will keep your heart racing from one page to the next because I found myself SHOUTING at the book !! Tell Him !! Tell Her !! Why does Peony know ?? Chuck is a BAD MAN !!
So in love with both Alec and Oliver !! These three are a triangle but in a warm and loving and sometime a mean kinda way !! LOVE IT !!
Alec Hayes is a living breathing dream come true... the kind of guy a girl dreams of finding and hopefully holding on to. When she met him in Vegas she thought she had met her guy, you know the one that she'd someday walk down the aisle to, but then she discovered that her dream guy had ties to a hurtful part of her past. He is the step-brother of the guy she gave her heart to in college, and he broke it... so dating his brother goes against everything she believes in. So she has to let him go... or does she?
Every Chance With You is addictive little page-turner; I fell victim to its well penned words from page one and they held me hostage until the wee hours of the morning when the last page came! This series has been nothing short of amazing, and its newest contender came out swinging with one heck of an emotional punch, these characters really did a number on me. The whole way through I kept wavering between suitors, I had such a hard time deciding which one would be her perfect fit. I loved both of them for very different reasons, and I could see her ending up with either of them, but of course only one could win the battle. And oh what a battle it was, being a love triangle there was lots of indecision, angst, and emotional games being played... it was wickedly entertaining!
I loved what I found between the pages here, the emotional parts hit their mark, the playful flirty banter made me laugh and of course the steamy moments did not disappoint, I had a serious blush going on throughout. I have no doubt readers will love this one, it comes brimming with everything needed to leave your heart happy!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
This is a very touching book. It was crazy how I wanted Savy to be with one guy for awhile and then I wanted her to be with the other. Let me start at the beginning. Savy and Oliver went to the same college. She sure did pick a jerk to think she wanted to be with before she met Oliver. I was so glad when she left him. In steps Oliver who seems to save her. Oliver had such a confusing personality to me. He definitely wanted people to think he was a bad guy and couldn’t give anyone a relationship. Later in the book the reason for this comes out and breaks my heart. After so much confusion between Oliver and Savy, she leaves. It was crazy how she was in Vegas five years later and she hooks up with a guy named Alex. She call tell he is a good guy, but she goes back to her home on the east coast. Savy decided to surprise Alex and goes to his house in California with a trench coat on with not much under. To her surprise Oliver answers the door. It then hit her that Oliver was Alex’s half brother that he hated. For two years, Alex and Savy keep in touch, but she tells him she cannot be with him. Then the two need a partner for two different reasons and pretend they are engaged. Alex wanted Savy to ward off his mother’s actions to get him together with another woman at his sister Rose’s wedding. Things seem to get even more complicated when Rose talks her brother Oliver into coming to her wedding and all the festivities. I was so conflicted on who I wanted Savy to end up with, but there was so much going on between them all! This was such a good edgy book. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
This book was really good. It has so many lies, secrets, betrayal, heartache, misunderstandings and a really intense love triangle right in the middle of it all. One girl and two brothers who are in love with her. She has a long history with one, and a hot one night stand that’s led to a friendship with the other. When Savvy first meets Alec in Vegas and he tells her about his brother, she has no idea who he is. Not until she shows up at Alec’s house and guess who answers the door??? Yep, Oliver, her past and the guy she fell hard for and who broke her heart. She does the only thing she thinks is right and tells Alec they can only be friends, but she doesn’t tell him about Oliver and what he means to her. For two years they stay friends, him wanting more, and her fighting her feelings, but when Savvy needs a fake fiancé Alec says he’ll do it for her if she goes to his sisters wedding as his date and fiancé. She only agrees thinking Oliver won’t be there, it’s been two years since she’s seen him and doesn’t want to now. But when Oliver learns she’s engaged to his brother he tells Alec how he’s known Savvy for years. He also knows he’s still in love with her and wants her back. This was a good book, I honestly didn’t know what brother I was rooting for. I didn’t like the ex and really didn’t want her back in the picture either. I felt her lies kinda started the whole thing and things snowballed over the years. But in the end I was really happy how it ended and am glad Savvy made the choice she did. My heart broke a little for Oliver through the book, but I was so happy for him at the end when he realized the truth regarding his dad.
Oh, the tangled web. The lies. The facades. The enmity. The….love? Savvy and Oliver have a past. Savvy and Alec have an almost-was. And Oliver and Alec have a past. When all three collide, secrets become too much to bear, truths come out, and they find that maybe, just maybe, all is not as it appeared for so many years.
While there were a lot of twists and flashbacks here, they were necessary. We needed to know where Oliver and Savannah came from. We needed to know how Alec fit in. And we absolutely had to know which one wins out and which one realizes that their forever may be elsewhere in the end. Oliver seemed to use Savvy once, but maybe it was love. Savvy is using Alec now, and he’s doing the same, but maybe it’s just the opening they need to figure out their hearts. But maybe it’ll all fall apart.
I knew who I wanted for Savvy from jump, but it was a heart pounding ride several times. I wondered where she’d end up. Who she’d end up with. What the truth of her and Oliver years ago was. And what the truth of Alex and Oliver was and is today. I even enjoyed the heartbreak because with each crack in hearts, truth poured out to set perceptions and beliefs right side up. Maybe we’ll see more of all three in the future? I can hope because I definitely enjoyed who ended up being Savvy’s future!
So let me start out by saying that I am not a huge fan of love triangles, but a Lexi written love triangle I was all for. I have been curious about Savvy's story since the first book in the Orchid Valley Series. Savvy meets Alec in Vegas and thinks she met the man of her dreams. When she goes to surprise him at home, she find out that the brother he detests is none other than Oliver Rhett. The man who broke her heart in college and yet still holds a piece of it today. Savvy retreats and decides her and Alec can't be together because of her past with Oliver.
Throughout the story Lexi flashes back to the beginning of Savvy and Oliver and then back to the present with the three of them. I am not a huge fan of a lot of flashbacks but these were written so well. You needed them to get the whole picture and the book wouldn't have had the impact without them. Savvy, Oliver and Alec are all a little bit broken from their pasts and their family relationships.
I kept going back and forth on who to root for and who I thought Savvy would end up with. She honestly kept me guessing till the very end. I loved Oliver and Alec for different reasons but at the end of the day, you could tell who Savvy's heart beat for. I will say that there was a HEA for both brothers and my little romantic heart was happy about that. This was a great read!!!!!
When I met Alec Hayes in Vegas, I thought I'd stumbled into a love affair with the man of my dreams. Alec's sexy, confident, and charming. Our night together was full of laughter and the kind of toe-curling kisses that tempted me to believe in fate for the first time in years. Until I flew out to LA to surprise Alec and ran into the unnamed half-brother he'd admitted to despising. But I know Oliver Rhett as soon as I see him. Oliver's the reason I stopped believing in destiny. He was my first love and my first heartbreak. And now he's the reason I can't be with Alec. It's not fair to give one man the scraps of my heart when Oliver would always be right there to remind me he still holds the rest. But when Alec needs a favor, I can't turn my back on him. Even if it means falling a little more for his gentle charm every day. Even if it means facing Oliver and remembering exactly how brazenly he stole my heart. My plan is to walk away. I can't make this family feud worse. But I didn't realize just how hard a broken heart can fall.
Loved this book! If you love a book with lots of angst, chemistry and a love triangle, then this book is definitely for you. Lexi is brilliant when it comes to writing angsty romance books! Highly recommend!
