MP3 CD Format God has a glorious purpose for His people. And those who understand this will rule and reign with Jesus for eternity.
God, in the eternal past, planned for mankind to live on the earth and fulfill a great purpose in the eternal future. Bishop Hamon, a pioneer of restoration in the Church, stands firmly on biblical truth as he explores that great being conformed to the likeness of Jesus. By tracking the eight major reasons God created human beings, Dr. Hamon tackles the hard issues believers face as the highest race in the universe—including the problem of pain. It is only as we understand the process through which God conforms us to the likeness of His Son that we accomplish our highest calling.
Have you had lots of hardships in life? Dr. Hamon has and believes we are tried by fire to conform us to the way God wants us. He gives many examples of this happening throughout his long lifetime and ministry—including the death of his wife.
Instead of asking why when difficulties strike, believe the promises of God. He suggests using your energy for standing on scriptures such as these:
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done….” Genesis 50:20
The author believes by giving up fighting against bad things that happened to him, he has become more at peace and assured of God’s hand on him. Letting go of anxiety and fear along with giving into God’s will allows Him (God) to accomplish His purpose in our lives—and we will be blessed by it. Dr. Hamon cautions it may take lots of time to see the good come of it, so it is important not to lose faith.
Some of the points and conclusions made are different than mine, but the author makes a good case for his position in this 5-star book.
Bethany House Publishing has provided bookreadingtic with a complimentary copy of, Your Highest Calling, for the purpose of review.
I really liked this book. I often struggle with non-fiction but this was not one of those books. I was able to stay focused and gain some new understanding.
Our highest calling is to be like Jesus. Simple, yet not.
So many truths in this book I couldn’t begin to touch on them all.
One thing that really suck out to me was if we are truly searching for God’s highest calling we would stop asking God, “why?”. That one hit me because I have been in a season of asking God why about many things. He doesn’t owe me an explanation for the things that happen in our lives.
I also loved when the author talked about our trails working for us, like they are actual employees and we should be grateful for the work they are doing in our lives. Really something to think about there.
A copy of this book was given to me through the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Bill Hamon, in his 66 years of ministry, has written extensively on the spiritual gifts, the apostolic and prophetic movements, and spiritual warfare, but he claims that Your Highest Calling is the most important book he has ever written.
In Your Highest Calling, Pastor Bill Hamon teaches the reader about God’s main intent for humanity: Conformity to the image of Jesus Christ. In eleven chapters, Hamon expounds on the process of conformity and shares many personal stories of his own process. I highly recommended this book.
I received a copy of this book from Chosen Books in exchange for an honest review.
An absolutely dreadful book! The author butchers both Scripture and Christianity. I would’ve stopped reading just a couple chapters in, but I promise to finish the book since it was a gift. Pure nonsensical trash.
The book mainly explained two principles: the Law of Transformation and the Process for Conformity to the image and likeness of Christ. According author, these two principles are the important ones for the church nowadays.
If you have ever wondered why christian’s sometimes suffer, read this book. I am so thankful for the wisdom Bishop Bill Hamon poured out into this book.
An excellent book. I listened to the audiobook but it's the kind of book that would be best in print, so I could underline, add marginal notes, attach Post-Its, etc. Life-changing stuff.
