What a way to introduce Shakespeare to a young reader!
I loved reading this with my 10 year old daughter.
The graphics are great, and although the language is significantly simplified to cater for younger audiences, the additional information at the start and end, including some history, timeline, glossary, details about books in the time of Shakespeare, really make it a worthwhile graphic novel.

I am familiar with the story of Romeo and Juliet but it’s not a story I overly enjoy. It was probably a bit unfair of me to pick this up knowing I don’t really like the story but I wanted to start with something I knew slightly.

This graphic novel made the language a lot simpler and easier to understand (plain English instead of whatever Shakespeare wrote in)

The art was lovely and I really liked the extra information you got at the beginning and end.

I will definitely look into more of the “classics in graphics” series.

Reading this made me realise how stupid and naive Romeo and Juliet were respectively. But that's love for you... Nice, clean and simple representation of an old classic with decent graphics. I can recommend this to young readers.

A great adaptation, the artwork conveys the characters and drama very well, with the intensity and emotions. The language is easy to follow, but is similar enough to the original play that students who are studying it can relate to the scenes.
