Sherlock And Devdas by Manav Vigg, is a modern twist on the legendary characters – Sherlock & Devdas pairs two completely opposite yet eccentric personalities in an epic adventurous journey.
As readers, we love both these characters and so does the author which bought this book into the light. Let me tell you this one is surely a complete page turner. Torn between mystery and suspence in Sherlock style as well as Love and romance in Devdas style, this book couldn't have been better.
What more to ask than a deadly combination of romance and mystery in one book. Both these characters are from very different era yet we see a twist in this book which brings back both these characters together.
It was brilliant to see how both these legendary characters from different era coincidence from one another in this beautiful and suspenseful plot, but according to me one thing which would have made this book more interesting was use to different yet similar names of these characters.
The character of Chandni according to me was surely the showstopper of this book. I enjoyed the smooth writing and it kept me hooked from the very first page to the last. What was more interesting is how the author has smoothly yet brilliantly integrated both the characters together in a single plot. Read this unputdownable book to find out more.

"Sherlock & Devdas" is a twist on two famous characters by Manav Vigg. Even though they come from different worlds, the author mixes their stories together really well. Out of all the books I read this year, this one stood out because of its fresh idea and unexpected team-up. Vigg stays true to the characters we know while giving us a new adventure to enjoy. The only downside is that the writing could be smoother, especially the talking parts, but overall, it's pretty good. I can't wait for the next book because this journey has been awesome so far.
I got totally caught up in the exciting plot and how fast the story moves. Even though there are some parts that aren't as strong, the book keeps you hooked with its twists and turns. Vigg's storytelling skills are so good that I finished the book in just a few sittings—I couldn't put it down! Now, I'm eagerly waiting for the next part of the story, thinking back on the amazing adventure I've been on.
It is a breath of fresh air, giving us a new take on characters we love. Vigg's creative approach makes old stories feel exciting again, adding a sense of fun and mystery. While there are things that could be better in the writing, overall, it's a great experience. Every page reminds me why I love stories and makes me excited for what comes next.
Honestly, just after seeing the title of the book I just decided that I will read the book for sure. From my childhood, till now, Sherlock Holmes is one of my favourite book. And here the author has given that flavour with the mixture of modernity. I must say that the author had done a lots of research for writing this book, every details got special attention and with every changing plot the story become more interesting. I really love how the author made unique characters with proper narration. J really loved the character of Dev and Chandni! They are so strong and readers can easily relate it. Although the book has more than 300 pages but I can assure that the reader will enjoy every page. The best part is that the author used simple yet lucid language for this book. The title is appropriate. The cover is subjective and beautiful. Overall, it's a book you just can't miss!
Sherlock and Devdas by Manav Vigg is a blend of mystery, thrill and suspense. The story revolved around Devdas, a drunk heartbroken guy walked in an exhibition displayed around by artefacts, paintings, sculptures and many more valuable art items. There were very few people who valued these gems. There came a time when his piece of art was being auctioned away. His painting was named as, “Raas Leela”. With the Paro’s arrival with his husband, Dev got torn but she only took that painting in, ‘1 crore’. As it was their symbol of togetherness. But an unexpected event took place some artefact got stolen and a detective Sherlock was hired to investigate this case.
Both belonged to different fields but joined hands to solve it. Will they be successful? Why Dev and Paro got apart? Who robbed those artefacts?
The plot was intriguing and suspense was well maintained. It increased my curiosity to know who was that mysterious person and how different personalities solved this case. The language was understandable. I came across some new words. The characters were well maintained. The title and cover perfectly matched the plot. Overall, it was an interesting different read to me.
Sherlock and Devdas - An unlikely pairing that spins a tapestry of suspense
Manav Vigg has outdone himself with his latest book - Sherlock and Devdas: Sherlock homes India, Devdas gets Sherlocked. This book has a unique voice which fleshes out both characters for what we love them - suspense and melancholy respectively.
Characters - The masters who drove the book forward Sherlock Holmes and Devdas are renowned characters that we know and love. Each one of them has a distinct voice in this novel and a lot of references for their original stories are thrown around. For example, Sherlock often says ‘Elementary, Devdas, Elementary’ - did you just nod your head in reminiscence as we did?
Also! Did anyone else get excited when Watson was introduced for a brief chapter? It was interesting to see yet another beloved character making an appearance and engaging in quirky dialogue. It was refreshing to see the two worlds colliding and the outcome being something totally unexpected!
The same goes for Devdas who is depressed after the love of his life, Paro leaves him for someone else. The lovers are separated despite their bond still being intact. It is beautiful how the beauty of their bond is depicted from their early days of childhood. The internal conflicts of both Paro and Devdas are depicted beautifully on several occasions which adds life to the story. Furthermore, there are some scenes with Chandni who is a close friend of Devdas - that is if we use the word ‘friend’ very loosely!
Rewriting the stars - so to speak One notable aspect was how at times the book deviated from the characters’ original personalities. I have always admired Sherlock Holmes as being someone who never turns to anyone for help and solves mysteries by visiting his ‘mind palace’. But in this book, he is given a very human form and is seen to be vulnerable on many occasions.
He is trying to crack his first big case and is even depicted as having financial issues at times! While this retelling might be off-putting for some readers, I found it refreshing as I am a Sherlock Holmes fan in and out! It was a fresh perspective and has a lot of scope in future sequels.
I was very intrigued by how the duo came together during various parts of the novel and used their intellects to find solutions. Be it the hunt for the Sherpa, the quest to defeat Devdas’s addiction to alcohol, or solving the mystery at large - it was interesting to see the contrasting characters set aside their differences and join hands.
The language Manav Vigg has indicated his witty nature with the writing in this novel. It is elegant and poetic at times while turning sarcastic and humorous at other times. It is fun to see the characters communicating with each other and solving the mystery in their own ways. Add in Meenal, C.L., Mrs Hudson, and Bhatia to the mix and you get the most eccentric cast in a novel! Even the antagonists were fleshed out and readers keep guessing till the very end who the perpetrator could be.
Devdas has a profound interest and love for antiques and artefacts. This helps him support Sherlock during tricky situations. Similarly, Sherlock has contacts in the police department and has access to scientific equipment to conduct tests and prove the evidence gathered.
The pacing and twists The book is paced quite well and the chapters are very short. This was a bonus, as I always feel I am getting through the book faster if the chapters are short. Not to mention the plethora of edge-of-your-seat moments in the book wherein the author revealed various plot twists and action sequences.
The twists and turns were placed well throughout the book and the author takes the readers on a comprehensive journey to solve the case. It almost felt like I too was putting the pieces together along with Sherlock and Devdas. This writing style and pacing really stood out to me as I was flipping through the pages quickly to find out if my assumptions were true.
The final verdict Sherlock and Devdas is a refreshing new read from a brand-new perspective we have never seen before. Apart from having scenes depicting love, sorrow, loss, comedy, and depression; the story has a spell-binding mystery at its core. The mystery at the heart of the story is what ties the whole package together!
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves Sherlock Holmes and detective stories. Trust me, you will love seeing your favourite character in this new avatar! I also suggest fans of Devdas and Paro check out this novel, as their love and banter are beautifully described!
The twist is intriguing and leaves scope for a second novel in the series - I didn’t see that cliffhanger coming at all! Mind you, there are some romantic scenes in the novel and a very mild use of swear words. If this turns you off to let young readers check out the book, then to each one his own! On the whole, I highly recommend you add this book to your TBR pile and acquaint your mind with a fresh perspective.
Manav Vigg’s ‘Sherlock and Devdas’ caught me by surprise because of what is plainly obvious: the title and the premise. Precise characterization was something I was familiar with, and admired to a great extent. What I used to admire even more, was an amalgamation of characterizations—the criss-cross of the paths of several minutely constructed characters, how their decisions align. Never had I thought Sherlock and Devdas could be brought to the same frame. I had seen figures from this South Asian part of the world mingling with the Western ones, but even then, a story about these two iconic characters is a spark that should astonish a large number of well-read readers. I was no exception.
Vigg doesn’t take away the iconicity of his characters, they remain how they are situated in the reader’s mind. Sherlock as a free-willed detective and Devdas as a romantic pursuer of the arts. Both dwindling in troubles of their own. What the author does take away are the known contexts of the characters, further decorating them to suit the needs of his book. Such an artistic liberty is rehearsed in multitude. Devdas and Sherlock find themselves shoulder-to-shoulder while cracking a mystery, never turning away from providing the story whatever they can allow through their elaborately humanised characterizations.
The panoramic vastness of the story invites a steady appreciation. A lot goes in and out of the primary storyline—there are sub-plots, anecdotes, packed scenes and staged events adorning the reader’s attention. Various emotions that can be expected of Sherlock and Devdas is captured with a bright sensitivity, and Vigg’s realisation of their potentials is charming. On one side, the mystery element of the story proceeds with a consistent momentum, interjected frequently by humour, discourses, humorous exchange of dialogues. Witty references to the backdrops of the original Devdas and Sherlock are scattered within the sentences at times, making the readers reminisce about the spaces these characters have acquired in their minds.
I found the climax to be thoroughly staged. Many of the elements of the story that were undergoing probation and hence allowing the readers to enjoy the suspense, do come together by the end, in sequences of incidents often unanticipated. However, some strands are left alone, without getting tied up with the dissolution of the mystery. Hence, the mystery culminates but leaves behind a trail that is unmistakable. Throughout my reading, I kept on applauding the amalgamation of the characters as much as I enjoyed the storyline in its entirety. Particularly speaking, the characterization and the plot can exist as separate entities, but I am glad their intermingling gave Vigg the opportunity to exercise his imagination to craft a story that is unique in many different directions.
The book has indeed a catchy title and tagline is too amazing that made me pick this book up. The tagline says, “Sherlock homesIndia Devas gets Sherlocked.” That made me curious. I started reading it and everything started making sense to me. For those who have read/ watched Devdas, the character of Devdas is maintained. He drinks and he was sent to London to study law. The story started with an auction. There is an auction organised by C.L. Khanna. Artefacts, paintings, sculptures, and other valuable items were displayed one after another, in this gathering of high net worth individuals from all across Delhi. The only time his nostalgia turned to rage was when the host announced the display of a painting called “Raas Leela” for auction. The auction started for this. Paro entered the room and bought the painting. Because there was a story behind that painting, a memory that connects both of them. In the next chapter, they introduced Sherlock Holmes. And I must say, they preserved characters and characteristics, O loved that. Sherlock & Devdas were never meant to be together. They belonged to different worlds and nested different conflicts. Sherlock was in his early crime solving days. While Devdas is drunk and torn after Paro’s marriage. Here Sherlock would have loved to prove himself as a detective alone but Devdas comes into picture because there are things known only to Devdas about the stolen artefacts. Read the book to unfold complete plot. I loved the idea. It’s unique and interesting. The narration style of the author is captivating. I loved all the twists and turns plotted. The language of the book is lucid so that everyone can pick it up. Quite an interesting read. I loved it.
Everyone loves a good heist novel and such stories are a blast to read because we as a readers have a certain feeling to know that they are going to be filled with high stakes, clever characters, along with a mission that will rival all other missions.
And when the plot revolves around a detective or a group of people, who are trying to solve the mystery and find out these culprits behind the heist, the book really demands an elevated plot and investment.
‘Sherlock And Devdas’ by author Manav Vigg is one such book, wherein we see how two of the famous characters known by all, are brought together to form an alliance, making the optimum use of each other’s respective expertise.
Not particularly misfits, but two people who seemingly had nothing in common are forced to work in tandem when completely unanticipated series of events brings this unpredicted duo and forces them to be associated with each other.
Now how will this team complement each other’s skills, will they concoct an elaborate plan, how will they deal with all the twists and turns that ensue are the questions that remain to be seen.
The writing style was very gripping and helps the readers to make a connection with the plot, all the while making our minds race and think about the possible scenarios and outcomes that will take place.
Never would we have imagined that an alliance between Sherlock and Devdas could result in something so entertaining, hence credit goes to the author for making this happen and helping us broadening our imagination.
Also, every single detail has been planted carefully, so that during the climax or the end, everything comes together nicely. I am going to give this book FIVE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Manav Vigg has a really great imagination, his thinking is out of the box, and with this book he has smashed a six out of the park. And trust me I'm not exaggerating anything. This book is a result of sheer brilliance.
Just imagine two big and very famous characters, whom you never imagined will ever come together, comes together. Sherlock Holmes when he was at the beginning of his career and Devdas when he was destroying his life after Paro's marriage, meets each other due to an unexpected event.
There is a big heist, Sherlock is in India to solve the case and find the valuable artefacts and though not his way of working he has to work with Devdas as he knows some key facts and important clues, to solve the case. Will they be able to get along and find the culprits?
The best thing about this book is that it doesn't completely depend on its uniqueness of colliding to major characters but its selling point is it's story, it's so intriguing and well written, it'll have all your attention right from the first page and doesn't deviate from the story anywhere and moves at a good pace. It establishes everything important for the story at the beginning and specially how he used the prologue part to show that Sherlock is also vulnerable.
This book is great and is for everyone but yes it's a boon for the lover of mystery genre lovers and will surely love it.
Book Name- Sherlock and Devdas Author - Manav Vigg Pages- 309 Rating - 4/5 ⭐
Sherlock and Devdas , A title almost anyone will be drawn to.
And that's exactly why I chose to read this one. It's a story that brings together two of the most iconic characters that have been present in the history of cinema and literature. The story revolves around solving the mystery of missing paintings ,related to Devdas and Paro. None of the characters have been written to lose their authenticity. They still feel and radiate the same familiar vibe. The amalgamation of two such unique and different characters is an art. An art the author has definitely mastered. You'll find mystery, drama, action, suspense and nostalgia, all in this 300 page novel.
Thankyou Manav Vig for the book ! Loved reading it 💜
Sherlock and Devdas two opposite names but we all are aware about these personalities.Manav vigg's crafted this story with a perfect combination of dilogues and characters description.I really liked concept the author used some filmy names and their related characters with same situations but different stories. After started reading I can't able to put it down for a moment because the curiosity and script delivery makes me to finish this in one sitting. This is the story about Devdas and Sherlock. After his wealthy family prohibits him from marrying Paro the woman he is in love with, Devdas's life spirals downward as he takes up alcohol and a life of vice to alleviate the pain.On the other side Sherlock a sharp minded detective struggling to prove his intelligence until he lands upon the case of Robbery of all Artefacts at the Art Centre. While Sherlock would have loved to prove himself as a detective alone, there are things known only to Devdas about the stolen artefacts. How this event change there lived and brought this pair together is the only thing you must need to discover on this epic journey.
“He kept staring at himself trying to figure out if he was the same person that he was before. Time changes your perception of yourself. However, despite the distortions on his face and his botched-up hair, he looked dignified.”
– Manav Vigg, Sherlock and Devdas The juxtaposition of two iconic characters in the title of the text is reason enough to pick up this book. However, the wordplay in the subtitle is even quirkier. It goes like this – Sherlock homes India/ Devdas gets Sherlocked.
This is indicative of the manner in which the two characters from two very different backgrounds and worlds cross paths. Yet, it is not clear enough as to how the two characters meet and most importantly why.
With a stunning book cover that has the silhouettes of both characters against the backdrop of geographical locales that they originate from and identify with, this book is a fanboy’s tribute to two characters who have managed to survive the waves of time and stood consistently with a name and fame that is irreplaceable.
Nonetheless, at over 100 chapters, Sherlock and Devdas tends to be on the lengthier side though that is not a downside considering the entertaining elements that combine suspense with a lot of mystery, terror, drama, and problem-solving. This also adds to the fact that the chapters are of short length, running a little over 5-6 pages each. This keeps ideas concentrated in each chapter and crisp chapters allow for ease of understanding.
Sherlock and Devdas Manav Vigg Book Review The plot has never-ending twists and turns that keep up the entertainment quotient, add to the mystery element, and get the readers involved through the fact that not everything is easily disclosed. This helps to take the readers into the scenes of the plot that revolves around a murder and the mystery of stolen artifacts.
The plot is jam-packed with a lot of crucial elements that include subplots, analogies, anecdotes, and surprise elements that crop up from nowhere and end up grabbing the attention of the reader and increase the thrilling appeal of a text that is already bound to spark the interest of the reader through its innovative title.
There is no shortage of creative energy in the construction of the plot. The circumlocutory scenes evolve at a swift and moderate pace that helps in the evolution of the two characters who blend seamlessly, though they belong to very different arenas. This strange merging creates an effect that is hard to describe but can be described as one that leaves the readers feeling enthusiastic and excited about this detective fiction.
Another fact is that there is no overbearing burden of the fame and popularity of the characters on the plot. Though both Sherlock and Devdas are well known, the focus of the plot remains on the crime scenes and the cues that will help the story create a fruitful conclusion.
Sherlock and Devdas has a major climax with several minor climaxes throughout the text. The major climax may seem like the story is nearing a solution and that the mystery may be soon solved, but it throws the reader into a new set of adventures. Yet, the major climax is well-executed and well-timed. It goes halfway to solving the crime scenes only to give an estimate to the reader about how deep-seated and complex the work of detectives is.
Sherlock and Devdas Manav Vigg Review In this sense, the plot is slightly more inclined towards the character of Sherlock as it bases itself on his professional activities. However, this does not negate the contributions of Devdas. On the contrary, it goes on to show that Devdas is beyond a drunk lover and has a lot of other skills and sides to his personality. This serves to pluck the characters from their usual spaces to adjust and cooperate in bringing a meaningful end to an otherwise complicated heist novel.
What brings the two main characters together is the fact that they both know a lot of things that the other doesn’t, and this is the reason behind their interdependence. They slowly tend to become indispensable to each other as much as to the solving of the issues at hand in a combined manner.
Both characters are well-constructed with their characteristic traits such as Sherlock’s magnifying glass and Devdas’ silver bottle of wine. However, their charm lies not only in their ability to adapt, but also to fit in within a modern setup that makes this modern adaptation an enjoyable read.
The writing style is lucid and easy to follow, with apt vocabulary that does not hinder the progress of the reader, while keeping factual descriptions appropriate and understandable. There is no overburdening use of technical terminology or sewing of unusual phrases. The simplicity of the writing allows the reader to focus on the facts as they unfold and keeps them on their toes.
Overall, a highly recommended read for fans of mystery, thrillers, and crime fiction.
If you know me, you know the two thing I love most is Bollywood and of course DEVDAS, so think of my shock when I come across thing absolute BANGER of a book.
Book Name -: Sherlock & Devdas Writer -: Manav Vigg Genre - Fiction
Sypnosis -: As the book name says the book story revolves around the life of 2 characters 'Sherlock and Devdas'. The story starts with the struggling days of Detective Sherlock when he was not so famous and wanted to crack a case which can make him some money to pay his bills. On the other hand 'Devdas' was a rich well known guy, but he was heart broken because the girl he loved 'Paro' married another person. But when Sherlock was handed over a case of artefacts heist both of the character crossed each other's path resulting in an unexpected friendship between them. They started working together to get close to the mysteries behind the heist and a murder.
Will they be able to solve the mysteries? Read the book to go on a thrilling journey!
Things I liked -:
1. The Theme -: So the very 1st thing which attracted me towards the book was the the book name. After reading the title I started thinking what kind of story this book have with 2 completely different character - One character is related to Thill, crime & mysteries & Another is related to Romance, cliche & Sad life. That's why I immediately picked the book and boy what an amazing story delivery it was, i mean who would have ever thought that someone can write a completely new story by putting the protagonist of 2 different famous book together. I've to say it nearly had everything from thrill, suspense, crime, drama, romance, friendship. It totally was a new experience for me to read a new Sherlock & devdas story.
2. The Characters -: Creating a story based around some well known legendary characters becomes a very tough task cos there's a pressure to write an extraordinary story with that character become we as a reader expect a very creative and well adapted story. And if we see what the author has presented here with the 2 characters is simply fulfilling all those expectations. If we talk mainly about characters then both of them don't need an introduction. Sherlock is a character from 'Sir Arthur Conan Doyle' novel and Devdas is a character from 'Sarat Chandra' novel. Both of them has created their own world around us which we all are well known of. Other than that the character of Chandni. Paro also have a small role in the book.
3. The Narration -: So the thing is, it's not like if anyone don't know about the main character won't be able to understand the book. In fact I'll say this the book story is written & narrated in a way that even those who don't know them will be able to understand and blend in with the story. This was one of the best thing about this book. Also the placement of the humours talks & Metaphors make the taste of the book amazing. Just a piece of wonderful narration I'll say.
4. The language -: We all know why we love classics, 'The simple use of language & on point story without extra talks' and if we talk about this book author has tried to use the same classic language style in the book. I know theres nothing like classic language but you know the classics have there own sweetness and I'm talking about that i found that type of sweetness in this story.
Things I didn't like -:
1. Let me get this clear i don't think this is a downpoint of the story but i think author could have described more about the 2 characters by giving them some more time in the starting i know it's not a solo book but it becomes a task to create a new world around them where we start reading about the character from a new angle author could've added some more elements in their story.
Final Thoughts -: A perfect use of classic characters with a new age story and a new world filled with suspense, drama, mysteries, surprises and a lot more. Definitely recommend for everyone the classic lovers and the new age book lover's too. It completely worth your time.
Rating -: 4.7 🌟

Sherlock Holmes is a very famous detective known throughout the entire world who is renowned for his remarkable detective skills. He's also an amazingly intelligent and strong, while at the same time relatable as well. He remains the most popular out of all of the fictional detectives for these reasons. Even to this day, his stories are still inspiring retellings of all kinds, from new detective novels to television shows, to movies, and much more.
Devdas was perhaps the first Indian film to break the hitherto accepted convention that 'tragedy is taboo' for cinemagoers. In fact, the 1935 New Theatres' versions in Bengali and Hindi directed by P.C. Barua were such a huge success that thereafter tragedy became a mainstay for the box-office success of a film. The film is based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novel from the early 90s, 'Devdas' and is touted as an adaptation of the classic love tragedy 'Romeo and Juliet'.
The title was a huge surprise for me. It piqued by interest that how is it possible to fuse them together. The amalgamation of such a fusion is a treat for the eyes. That's the sole reason as to why the premise was well addressed. As we can see for our ourselves that characterisation is totally justified considering the title itself is catchy. The context of the story is solving a mystery. And what better way to do it than combining the heroisms of both the Western classics along with Indian classical & cultural literature.
Both of these characters are completely different from one another in every aspect. Their individuality, working style & way of solving crimes is also totally different. They both go on a quest to unlock & search for the stolen artefacts. Characterisation & plot is good, it has been balanced well considering the fact that there're many characters involved.
Finally, what really disappointed me the most is that there's a lot of typesetting error in the entire book. There're some pages where it's turned or tilted upside down. Even the editing has been done poorly. We can identify mistakes as we move alongside the story embedded in the pages.
▪️A riveting fan fiction involving the two iconic characters famous in their own way, Devdas and Sherlock.
•• INSIGHT: This book is a tribute to all the Sherlock and Devdas lovers. It is a fan-fiction where the author has knitted a story about an event where Sherlock and Devdas meet to solve a case about Dev's family's stolen artifacts.
•• REVIEW: Sherlock & Devdas written by Manav Vigg is a very thrilling crime novel involving the very renowned detective, Sherlock and the ardent Paro lover, Devdas. While this fan-fiction pairs two poles apart characters together, it manages to do justice to the imagination about both. The language and the writing style are out of the world and you just go into their world once you flip open the pages. The author takes you through a journey, where he first sets a plot, introduces you to his characters, gives a background of both and then builds the story further. There could not have been any better end to this book. Having said that, some people may not like it. On a personal note, I loved the book. More than the end, I enjoyed the reading experience throughout. All the best to the author for the next part of the book.
•• STRENGTH: 1. Amazing writing style. 2. The cover page beautifully depicts the story of the book. 3. Detailed characterisation, so much that I felt I was reading a Movie. 4. This book showcases all the emotions a human feels. 5. I loved the climax of the book. It was something that could not be predicted.
•• WEAKNESS: 1. It was a relatively long book and sometimes the details were unnecessary. 2. The title of the book could have been something better.
•• TARGET READERS: This book is a must read for the fans of Devdas and Sherlock. People of the age group of 14 and above can read this book.

‘Sherlock and Devdas’ is a mystery novel revolving around the protagonists Dev and Sherlock. Sherlock is an underrated detective, scrounging for new cases to pay his bills. Dev is an art enthusiast, an archaeology nerd and an apathetic alcoholic. The names of both the characters are quite popular- Devdas from old Bollywood movies, and Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes. Both the characters are innately very contrasting. But the amalgamation of the two in the plot created by the author left me quite surprised. I had not imagined that a character like Devdas could fit into a plot of mystery heavy with analysis. The investigation of artifact heist results in Dev and Sherlock crossing paths, and they end up working together. It’s mesmerizing to see the very complementary characters working together and assisting each other. I just loved the storytelling style of the author. The book isn’t very heavy on sophisticated vocabulary, and thus suitable for all levels of readers. The book is moderately paced- simply written but yet somehow manages to hold the readers’ attention till the very end without giving away the mystery too soon. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but one thing I missed is the adrenaline pump I had expected. It did give a bit of thrill but didn’t satiate my thirst for adrenaline rush. Other than this, I loved reading the novel and would reread any day.
A very intriguing title and an even more interesting read. This is a very character-driven book in my opinion. Both our main characters are very different in their ways yet they match each other very well and bring out the best qualities in each other.
Devdas and Sherlock weren't meant to be together. They nested various battles and belonged to many realms. Sherlock is still learning the ins and outs of solving crimes, and he is working his way up to his first significant case. Devdas, on the other hand, is on a downward spiral toward self-destruction after Paro's marriage and is inebriated and torn. However, a shocking occurrence rocked their worlds and drew them together. Their paths intertwine with each other when they are brought together by a heist.
I love surprise elements in a book along with so many mind-blowing plot twists and ambiguity and this book delivered just that. Both the characters propelled the story forward with their sense of humor, personality and uniqueness. I really enjoyed reading this book in all its essence and would highly recommend it.
The time is now. The occasion was never. But some coincidences change your life forever!
As soon as I read the title of the book , I was inquistive to read . Devdas (famous character of Hindi cinema)and Sherlock(remarkable detwctive) are those two names which needs no introduction . The blend of these two characters make the book even more interesting and authour did the amalgation very rightfully.

Devdas, on the other hand, is drunk and torn after Paro’s marriage, and is on his downhill path to self-destruction. But one unexpected event shook their worlds and brought them together.
