This collection of short stories is a delight to read. There is drama, suspense, humor, satire, and stories that tug at the heart strings. In other words, something for everyone. The writing is concise and the chapters are very manageable, as to keep even the most fleeting mind captivated. I would definitely recommend adding this collection of curious tales to your list of must-reads.

Written by a South Dakota based indie author, this collection of short stories was a quick read and had me pondering the ways of life, nature, and politics. Berke did it again with this one and I cant wait for the next piece to be published!

“Curious tales” as mentioned in the prelude is the most accurate way to describe this collection of short stories. Through themes of discovery, blurring of reality, and the timeless conflict of fate vs choice, the stories range from thought-provoking and intense to whimsical and charming with the turn of a page. Definitely worth a read, especially if you’re looking to stray from the typical novel structure and explore an intriguing array of mini adventures (and misadventures)!

I thoroughly enjoyed this collection. Each story brought up complex questions about our place in the world and in history, but there were moments of hope and humor that prevented it from being overwhelming in its warnings. The three “Destination Earth” stories throughout set the tone for the stories and made for a satisfying conclusion. I will come back to this collection again!
