The early interviews in this are great but the text and interviews get more and more brief as it goes on and just kinda….ends after a couple pages of weapon pictures lol. If you’re putting together an art book for a Robert eggers movie I really think you can assume your audience will enjoy as much pedantic detail as possible! Also there’s a lot of on set pictures and some concept art but very little iterative artwork which is what I would personally be interested in on a production so focused on historical detail? Idk. Get indulgent! It’s robert eggers!! Why do you think we’re here!!!!

Robert Eggers is my all-time favourite director, his films resonate with me on multiple levels. While I deeply admire the historical authenticity and immersive depth he brings to his work, I would have appreciated a bit more detail in this book. Given that the Northman's theme has been a lifelong interest of mine and considering the film is in my opinion the most authentic of its genre, I had hoped for a richer exploration in this written companion. That said, the print quality and the imagery are truly stunning.

Great making of of this film. Is not the most in depth making of ever done, but the reflections of the director, writer and actors give information if you like them as creatives and enjoy their films. This might be the most standart review I have ever written. This is why I dont do reviews.
