300 years ago, humanity made First Contact with an alien race called the Plah’Keth. Hours later, both species were at intergalactic war with each other. A war humanity quickly lost. The Plah'Keth then convinced the races of the spiral that humanity had been the ones to start it. Fast forward 300 years and humanity is the most hated, untrusted, destitute race in the galaxy.
Kale Walker, a struggling star freighter pilot and captain of the VoidDancer, is forced to land on Methis after the Plah’Keth raid his ship and destroy the cargo he'd been hauling to Vokkan space. With his reputation and continued survival on the line, Kale accepts a job from a mysterious human claiming his cargo bound for Earth could rewrite history for humanity. Maybe even the whole galaxy.
But it’s not that simple. The sealed cargo contains a centuries-old secret that could plunge the entire galaxy into all-out war. A secret the Plah’Keth will do anything to keep from getting out. Including turning the entire galaxy against Kale to find him.
The ambush on Methis was only the beginning, and Kale is forced to use every tool at his disposal to keep up with powerful enemies with limitless resources in a race against time. With a hot bounty on his head, not even his closest friends can be trusted, leaving Kale to unravel a mystery spanning millions of years with nothing but himself and his trusty AI companion ALI to turn to for help in a galaxy getting smaller by the second.

After the First Contact War with an alien species called the Plah’Keth, humans ended up nearly extinct and at the very bottom of the pyramid. It’s been 300 years since the war, and humankind is still struggling to survive.
The story surrounds a man named Kale. He is a lone freighter pilot and captain of the VoidDance, who is just struggling to make ends meet. Desperate for work, he takes on an impossible task that gets him into trouble. While trying to recover his own ship and cargo, he learns a dangerous secret from a man that witnessed the First Contact War. This secret could save humanity.
He faces many obstacles from those trying to prevent him from finding more information and delivering his stolen cargo. Kale continuously gets knocked out, kicked, and beaten down, but he seems relentless and determined. He gets back up repeatedly as he tries to maneuver his way around the job that got him into this mess.
Though Kale travels alone in his ship, he talks to the AI named ALI which helps him navigate and identify potential threats. Overall the story has some “Firefly” vibes if Mal was traveling alone. It was a bit slow at first but picked up once his cargo and ship get stolen
