War has come to the Lands of Light, and the defenders of the Light look to Aranos to fight it. An army of urukkai marches on Eredain, the spider-people move against the dwarven Skollhelds, and a horde of Shadowborn descend on the Human Kingdoms. The elven capital of Cyva Alari has fallen, and the fiendish bodakkai rage freely in the forests under the thrall of the twisted, insane Traveler Lily. The Lightborn are outnumbered and unprepared for war, their armies scattered and their lands broken and isolated. Aranos has to change that to have any chance at victory, and the key to that victory is restoring the Arcane Doors. The tendrils of Darkness run deep through the Lands of Light in the aftermath of the Feast, though, turning those who should be allies into enemies. The dark gods move openly against him, and creatures of legendary power stalk him through the Ways of Shadow. For the Light to stand any chance at victory, Aranos must quell ancient suspicions, unite the Lightborn, and Redeem that which the Darkness Corrupted centuries the Hearts of the Lands. He must travel into the Darkness and restore it to the Light - or fall to its shadow and doom the Lightborn to slavery and death.
Kyle Johnson is a kids gymnastics and martial arts instructor who teaches outside of Chicago. He's worked on cruise ships, traveled the world, climbed glaciers, ziplined between mountains, and even danced in the end of a rainbow.
Currently, his main hobbies include helping his wife raise their two kids, because after that, who's got time for hobbies?
What about morals? In a battle versus the Darkness, who is your shield?
Aranos and his team of natives are powerful on their own right, but adding in all the Travelers (players) is an exponential strength that can return for multiple deaths. In that way each is worth more than a native in some ways, but they are reckless; some more so than others. One just wants to burn the world down to escape, but Lily was born of crazy. As the testing continues, many forget that this is a temporary visit to Singularity Online for the outdoor of proving the concept works and determining how well it accomplishes their goals. The pods, AI, and the game itself could revolutionize health care and provide improved care for many of Earth’s true citizens, the players. This was a great story full of wild advancements and evolutions, as well as including the other characters that have joined Aranos’s adventures. I enjoyed the story, characters and how they have advanced. I’m looking forward to the next installment!
Aranos, Geltheriel and their allies continue their fight against the dark and its corruption ,they are re-opening the gates and redeeming the cities of all the races from the taint of corruption ,Aranos becomes even more powerful as do his companions, they are so overpowered now that even the gods are nervous, then we have our favourite insane psychopath Lily who is nuttier than a fruit cake and loves elves blood more than life itself, luckily her madness kind of blocks any rational moves that don't involve pain and suffering.
If you like the LitRPG genre with complex, though thoroughly logical world building, this series will suit you well. Of course, you will want to start reading with the first book of the series and read them in order — so scroll down to the other books in the series and get started reading a wonderfully detailed, plot and character driven story of Virtual Reality and High Fantasy.
Book 6 of a fantasy LitRPG or GameLIT series about a futuristic in-development VR system where people use it for a week or more to play in a D&D like fantasy world. I'm still loving this series especially how much focus there is on progression. So many skills, spells, perks, titles, mana types that can be unlocked, upgraded, or combined.
This book continues the exploration of Ka and the universe of singularity online as the story draws closer to its climax. The board is set and I can't wait to see how the story brings all the players together.
Another wonderful addition to the series. So many new twists and answers that the story just gets better and better. Keep up the great work and I’m looking forward to whatever else the author puts out.
Okay continuation of the story, but the author’s other series is much better imo. There is an element of disingenuity to VR stories that makes the story less. If food, it’d be gas station food.
