She forgot something important. He knows what it is.
The moment Madison arrives at the old Colonial in New Hampshire, she knows her past and future are about to merge. The demons she runs from are drawing closer. Yet thanks to a home with an ancient oak tree and a Stonehenge nearby, she might, at last, find sanctuary. Perhaps even clarity about an elusive memory that’s haunted her for as long as she can remember. Or so she thinks until a handsome Irishman shows up at her door and reveals things she could never have anticipated.
When Cian, Gaelic King of the Connacht, hears Madison’s calls across time, he has no choice but to go to her. After all, he carries the memory she long forgot. One that begins what will eventually be considered folklore if all goes as it should. A memory foreseen by the gods of old that needs to play out if Ireland is to remain intact for generations to come. Even if it means sacrificing Madison for the greater good. Something he thinks will be easy until he meets her and realizes his heart will not be so easily swayed to do what’s right for his country.
Thrust together on a passionate, magical adventure that brings the reader back to a time when the five original Celtic tribes ruled Ireland, expect twists and turns. Joy and heartache. Good versus evil. More than ever, though, expect great love and loss. Endings, new beginnings, and a new take on what really happened over a thousand years ago on the Emerald Isle. More importantly…how it ensured Scotland’s MacLomain Clan would continue on.
For longtime MacLomain readers , this standalone series gives insight (an unknown backstory) into what ensured the MacLomain Clan went on to thrive in Scotland.

Okay first of all, this book is ALL tell and no show! We don‘t see our main characters, getting to know each other. We don’t see them connecting with each other or ANYONE. We are just told. We are told that they care about each other deeply and that they love ach other oh so much but we don’t see why. What do they like about each other HOW DO THEY GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER. In the end it said how much the H loved talking to the h and that he would never get tired of it but we never see what they talk about. Except how perfect they are for each other and how much they love each other forever —.— We are also told when moments are touching or emotional without any buildup or anything touching really happening because we as readers do not get to know the characters! Any of them! There is one scene in the book where it is told that the h connects with the people there and how the soldiers tell funny storys and we don‘t even see any interaction! Nothing! And there is sooo much info dumping. One second these characters know nothing and the next the h‘s *inner druidess feels something is true* and then we have to read three pages full of dialogue where we get told what the „inner druidess“ feels is the truth and the future about. X,y and Z. Without any hint any glimps into the thoughts of the h, any vision or whatever. We are just told, told, told. We are told they are incredibly attracted to each other without seeing why, we are told that they love each other without seeing why and we are told how much the people mean to the h without seeing her talk to ANYONE except for maybe 2 people she says 2 sentences to. We don’t get to see the castle we don’t get to see ANYTHING. We are told the characters remember each other and when that is the time to show us some memorys, some moments they shared over the years, to make sense of the instant familiarity they feel we get… you guessed it NOTHING. We are just told „oh we have been here together“ and that is it!! This is so wild to me. How can you write something like this. This book needed an editor. It could have been decent if it had one. A good thing tho? Building up the suspense before the next chapter starts is something the author does well. So there is that.
Please pay attention because you are given so much information. To say this is unique storyline is an understatement, so suspended you belief because this is fantasy at its best.
The h is from the 21st century and she travels back to the time the H lives. As the story unfolds you realize these two have been part of each other lifes for centuries. Neither fully remembers this but they still feel a connection.
The H has 3 brothers and the h has 3 sisters and you soon realize each will be partnered in order to save Ireland.
There is passionate lovemaking, described many time - heat level 3 out of 5.
Interesting, main and secondary characters, no cliffhanger for our couple but how the siblings will help in their part is not told. The story is romantic, HEA, suspenseful and some violence and steam.
I received an advanced copy, all opinions are my own and freely given. (ljb)
A Celtic Memory The MacLomain Series: Irish Roots Sky Purington ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sky Purington is absolutely brilliant. Her books never get tiring. This is part of a series where modern day sisters will be paired up with ancient brothers that are kings. This was Cian and Madison's story. If you have read any of Sky's other books you will definitely find some of the characters are well known to you. Cian is the Gaelic King of Connacht and when he hears Madison's call, he knows it's time to drop everything and run to her, but things are never quite as simple as they seem, are they? You see Cian carries the memories of Madison that she herself can't even remember. From the moment I started reading this book I was totally engrossed. It's that good. It's jam packed with everything one could want. There's time travel, good, evil, and it's purely magical. There are twist and turns you will not see coming, but above all there is joy and heartache. If you have read any of the books about the MacLomain Clan that Ms. Purington has written you will want to read this because this is the story of how it all began, how it ensured that the beloved MacLomain Clan will continue on. I truly enjoyed this book, but I will give you some advice and that is to pay attention otherwise you just might be lost. Ms. Purington I can't wait for the next book. This was a wonderful novel and well worth reading.
What does a call across time, a dream, a time traveling king, a girl from the 21st century and lost memory have to with saving Ireland from ruins? Why does Cian travel into the future to ask for Madison help to keep it from happening? Who does the lost memory belong to? What is it? Does someone find their mate? Does Cian and Madison get help along the way? If so who is it? Does someone get a happily ever after? Grab the book, sit back and get answers to these questions and see how the story unfolds.
Sky has a way to keep you engaged in reading her stories. So beware once you grab this book and read it, you’ll get hooked in wanting to read the series from the first book on. You won’t be disappointed about buying this one or any of the others. Go to her author page to see the complete series and what is the preferred order to read them. Most of all Happy Reading!!
Sky Purington newest book is a wonderful addition to the MacLomain series, Madison has dreams of a mysterious man from a era of long ago in Ireland history. Madison has Psychic abilities and Cian who is a Gaelic King, appears at Madison door. He is there to get Madison help to save Ireland history, I really enjoyed this book it has so much, magic, and danger which will have you turning the pages on book! Enjoyed reading about the time traveling and how this story all comes together, I would recommend this book, was very interesting history, gave it a five stars Sky Purington writes a fantastic story. Can't wait for the next book!
This was a great story, setting the stage for this as well as the next three novels. As a fan of time travel, I found it quite interesting how there was so much play upon timelines and the importance of certain things happening In particular ways/ orders to avert destruction. Blending all of this with the magic of druidesses and warlocks introduced another interesting aspect to consider. With lots of action and emotional ups and downs, it was satisfying to see where the plot for this novel ended for now. I am already looking forward to the next novel for greater resolution of other issues.
Lots of information given, but only snippets at a time. A bit confusing and you are lost along with the characters. Seemed like a “we knew each other in our past lives” sort of situation. So the romance blossomed VERY quickly and then there was sex around every corner. Not super graphic, but frequent and ‘better each time’ 🙄. I won’t be reading the next book in the series even though I’m slightly curious how the story goes, but not enough to want to read how the author throws it together.
This book takes you on a journey with the wonderfully written characters! Everything is included in this book. Fantasy, time travel, love, romance, family, fighting the bad guys and so much more. The immediate connection between Cian and Madison melted my heart. They couldn't even look at anyone else!
I look forward reading the journey of each the sister!
To a new series!! I have read tons of Sky's books and loved every one of them. The one is no exception and is a special beginning to another series, druidess' and their familiars this time, along with the usual time travel adventures, bad guys and mayhem! My only sorrow was reading it early because now I am waiting until December for the pre-order to be delivered.
Good story. The author made the tale come alive with skill. The writing is quite simple, perhaps intended for new adults, and found myself wishing for greater use of language, but I was comfortable with her level of sexuality, and the larger, if predictable storyline.
He🐺💪🗡🐎 Put A Spell On Her ADULT Medieval🏰 Romance💕 and Adventure🐺💪🗡🐎.
Some of the magic and time travel sequences were confusing to me. I don't usually read historical time travel novels unless they are straight forward. This novel had druid witches, spells, etc. Not my cup of tea☕, but it might be yours!
Fun quick book to read, filled with good feelings and some sorrow. As this is the first of Sky Purington’s books I have read, I’m looking forward to finishing this series and starting at the beginning. Not one to usually read the end first but didn’t know differently so read on fellow readers
As with all of Ms. Purington’s book, this will not disappoint! Characters and storyline is amazing and I couldn’t put the book down. Looking forward to the rest of the series! I cannot say too much don’t want to give away the ending! 😊
I love the start of this new series. While I have loved all Ms. Purington's other books, Ireland is also a part of my heritage as well. I love fairies and druids and wizards, so this is going to be a great series.
Being part Irish with some Scottish tossed in plus Native American, we grew up with thousands of story tails, loved this book! Can't wait to read the sister's tales!
I'm currently reading this series and can't wait till I get to the next book, loving the plot. Keep them coming. Your stories gives me plenty of book boyfriends to choose from!
I really wanted to like this, but found the story to be too predictable and too neat. (Everyone is magically paired off etc). I read farther than normal, but ultimately have decided to set it down.
