This book was 60% porn and 30% established relationship plot and 10% breeding kink but it was so beautiful and wonderful and i loved it.

OK this book was hot. The spice level was very nice. Very very nice lol. We got a little taste of Jakob’s kink (which I love) in the first book but in this one it’s really much more prominent. In fact, in this book, we learn more about Jakob in general, which is nice.
His baggage feels very childish and given that he’s 27 you’d think some of this stuff would be behind him, but he’s kind of maybe in that transition phase of really leaving the kid stuff behind and entering adulthood when it comes to relationships. I did always appreciate how he was very clear about being with Katherine I never got the impression he was ever leading anyone else on. I think his issue was maybe boundaries.
I appreciated the open and honest conversation Katherine and Jakob had about her reading his text messages and really in general. Given what they went through in the first book they did an excellent job of talking through things very openly and honestly talking about marriage, talking about kids, him talking about his kink lol
By the end of the book you get the sense that things are really gonna be OK for this family with the only lingering concern, that is eased by the epilogue, being Katherine having a third kid on her hands with Jakob. He doesn’t know how to cook. He doesn’t really have any experience with kids and yeah he’s going to learn, but I just hope he doesn’t turn into that guy who just lounges around while Katherine is still having to do everything.
And when I say the sex was hot, I mean it. They were excellently written. They just did it for me lol I was bummed when the book ended and we didn’t have one more final scene with the two of them. Jakob’s dirty talk is just 🥵👌🏼 The only thing I kept hoping for was something beyond Katherine‘s text when they were Sexting, asking him if he was going to breed her. I wish that she had said something herself in person when they were together.
Something else that is still kind of unresolved or a little unclear is Jakob‘s career and what he does for work and how he’s really supporting the family. He works at the gym, of course but is that really enough income? We never really learned what Katherine does for work. I guess that’s all kind of immaterial. We don’t need to know those details necessarily, but it would be nice to know that they are kind of equal contributors.
It was nice to see some more interactions between Jakob and the kids and how he handled them since it’s a huge adjustment. It was also nice to have some additional characters brought in like Jakob‘s friend Sam.
Can I go back to the sex scenes because I have read a ton of reverse age gap romances in the past week and some of them are just sex after sex after sex and it’s really all that it is and after a while it gets very boring and monotonous. Here, in this book, as well as the first one there was just enough that it left me wanting more and even though I want more I’m kind of glad that it left me feeling that way so that it wasn’t totally overdoing it like some of the other books in the trope.
This second book is definitely an improvement with the quality of the writing, the pacing of the story. In the first book, the author was struggling a little with getting things going and getting things to the place she wanted to be in the story for these two characters and by the time we get to this second book the characters are there so the pacing felt much better even when there were time jumps it felt kind of natural and it didn’t feel as rushed as the first book.

Absolutely Adore!!
Real feeling plot and situations. Steamy and delicious scenes. This was an exceptional read and a fantastic ending to the duology!
