Thriller - Dan Carpenter, Viet Nam vet, returns to his home town of Westin on Florida's northern Gulf Coast. As he tries to settle into a new life as an aspiring nature photographer, he gets involved with helping a fisherman friend locate a highjacked boat and keeping an ex-lawyer friend from getting in bed with drug smugglers.

PB-B @ 1983, 12/91. Novel about an ex-Special Forces Vietnam Veteran coming back to friends in Florida, only to discover that the drug trade ruled. Violent, not my type.
