好狗维克
刘月华、储诚志主编的《好狗维克(汉语风中文分级系列读物第4级1100词级)》讲述，维克以前是一只非常有名的军犬(junquan：military dog)。有一天，它没有错，却被人用棍子(guizi：stick)重重地打伤了，维克出现r严重的心理(xinli：mentality)问题，不能再当军犬了。我们的缉毒(jidu：to crack down on narcotic traffickirlg)犬(quan：dog)训导(xundao：to train)中心虽然接受了它，但很多人不喜欢它，只有我不知道为什么，一下就喜欢上了它，我相信它一定行!我们一起努力练爿，成了最好的朋友。在缉毒工作中，维克干得很漂亮，成了_只最棒的缉毒犬!不过，想起当时经过的那些困难，还有女朋友差一点儿因为维克离开我，我是又想哭，又想笑……

The story is good.
The level of Mandarin Chinese required to understand this story perfectly is a little above my current level.
I will reread it in a few months when my Chinese has improved.

This is a level 4 (1,100 words) Chinese Breeze book. Until recently, I thought that no Level 4 Chinese breeze books existed, because this is what http://www.chinesebreeze.net/chinese-... says:

This means that Chinese breeze has apparently not updated its website in almost 3 years. Fuck you Chinese Breeze.
Chinese Breeze's books are all either based on Chinese folklore, or are original stories that the company made up themselves. The former category is usually pretty good, while the latter is typically atrocious. However, this book - despite obviously being written in house - was actually pretty good. It's a story about Vick, a military dog that has post-traumatic stress disorder because some men beat it severely with clubs. Now Vick is training to be drug-sniffing dog. Most of the book is about his new trainer helping him get over his PTSD. Then, after Vick's PTSD is sorted, the book is about him finding lots of drugs and getting drug traffickers arrested.

Pretty good for Chinese Breeze! Who doesn't love heartfelt animal stories.
