Second chance romances are my favorite, and especially when they had met in their childhood. This story won my heart in the first few pages.
Damien had never forgotten her all those years ago. Her kindness gave him something he'd carry through adulthood. Sometimes a kindness will go a long way when you feel forgotten and unloved. He may be a thief, but his heart is pure gold.
Savannah has also had a difficult life for one so young but that aside, she has her Nonna who has filled every void in her life. Not only the void of her parents but the long string of 'bad boy' relationships she's had all along. She couldn't help it, maybe she felt like she could fix them or turn them away from their ways. She manages a bar/restaurant and while her boss is away she is worked beyond exhaustion. Add to that another failed relationship that just ended and she finds herself spending the night at her boss's empty house across from the bar/restaurant.........which is where she meets Damien.
On occasion a third character will win my heart. In this case, Savannah's grandmother, Nonna, does just that. Her warmth will warm your heart to overflowing making you wish you knew her in her younger years.
I was gifted with an ARC and wanted to leave a review for a story that touched my heart.

Quite a different story from one of my fave author, Lily Baldwin did it again. A sweet story where the H and h are dealing with issues and trip & stumble on their way to their HEA but there is no drama, no angst. I loved following Savannah and oh-so-yummy Damien, learning about their past and how they met. I am glad they both got their 2nd chance to love, their is one of those stories that you just don’t want to end! It did and what a twist... I promise the journey and the end will capture your heart as it did mine.

This book is great! One of the best I have read in a while! I wanted it to never end! Would make a great movie! Highly recommend! First book I have read from this author and I was so glad I discovered this book! Will be buying more! :)

I loved the story about Damien and Savannah, it was a cute, heartwarming and exciting read. I give a clear reading recommendation for a story that touched my heart.
