I’m just trying to get my life back in order. For me, for my daughter. After losing my wife, my in-laws are now trying to take my daughter. Desperate times call for desperate measures. It’s the only excuse I have for concocting this crazy plan to marry my kid’s tutor - Ryan, who’s far too young and beautiful for me. But she has agreed to help despite how this will make her look, and how much it will disrupt her life. She says she doesn’t mind. Reality is it won’t matter, because this is only on paper and temporary. The quicker I get my in-laws off my ass, the better. Because once this custody battle is over, I’m setting Ryan free. I will… right ?

This is a Arc review I’ve previously only read one other of beccas books which I loved and this one also did not disappoint. This is definitely more a sweeter romance compared to what I usually read but I could keep a smile of my fave while reading it. I loved reading about all the ups and down they all faced and how they all came together at the end as a family. I really enjoyed the heroines mindset and how she viewed herself and also my heart really went out to hero and his daughter. Overall this is sweet and enjoyable read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶 Single dad Military Slow burn
Jackson and Ryan - where do I start? Well, they crashed into me while I was in the middle of working on Lexy and Sawyer from my Angels series, and they would not be ignored. So I stopped ignoring them and sat down to write their story. It was a slow burn and so much fun. Everyone should have someone like Ryan in their corner. A person who will run in blind for you. When a friend needs her, she is there. I loved building and layering their relationship and watching it unfold on the paper. But that's not the only relationship that had layers and growth. Melody, Jackson's daughter, is a huge part if not the center of this story. She starts a sad, young girl who is grieving, and not sure how to deal with the death of her mother. The way Ryan takes Melody under her wing more like a friend than anything else is beautiful. Jackson and Melody's relationship needs a little help too, which comes in the form of Ryan. The way she is able to bridge the gap for them and help them have the relationship they both crave is amazing. I hope I was able to portray this the way it played out in my head. Because this is a beautiful, funny, and heartwarming story about a widower and his daughter who need a little extra, and Ryan is for sure a little extra. I laughed out loud at her silliness and my heart ached for their journey. I hope you all feel that as well.
In this military romance we find Jackson a widower whose wife has died from cancer. He has custody of his little girl and has been delayed from going out on training missions and other deployments due to his wife’s death. His ex in-laws have tried to talk to him about shared custody but he is not having it! He is keeping his daughter no matter what. He concocts a story that puts him in a precarious situation with his daughters tutor Ryan. Ryan is a carefree butterfly who doesn’t believe in marriage and doesn’t want kids. She’s been in some non-relationships before but doesn’t want to be owned by someone else. When Jackson asks her to play along she only does it because she adores Melody and wants Jackson to keep his daughter. They agree to a fake marriage and once this custody case is over Jackson will set her free. They make a great team and as time moves on they become friends to lovers with a whole lot of hidden emotions. By the end of this book you really want to take them both and shake them. If they could have just communicated to each other that they didn’t want their marriage to end it would have saved them from some heartache. This does end in a HEA and you really adore this couple. Where Jackson was stiff and stuck in his ways Ryan was his complete opposite and she was just what he needed!
I love this book! This is the second book I’ve read by Becca and it was even better than the first (the books aren’t part of a series they were separate). The backstories for Ryan and Jackson were great and made them really relatable. Ryan is the kind of woman I want to be. Ryan is fun and easy going but can still kick some ass if she needs too and she did at least twice in this book 😉. Jackson reminds me of many of the men in service I have come across. He is pretty grumpy most of the time but if your patient and have some good jokes you get them to loosen up a bit. I also really enjoyed how much Jackson’s daughter was included in the book! She’s several years older than the little girl in the last book was so she was present for more conversations between Ryan and Jackson and made it very clear that kids know more than we think they do. And Melody’s relationship with Ryan was so sweet, I loved how Ryan cultivated Melody’s confidence, how she taught her to cook and discussed books with her. If you love romance, military romance, taboo age gap trope, the single dad trope and or the fake marriage trope you have to read this book ASAP! And who doesn’t love a man in uniform 😘?
(ARC REVIEW) Becca what a fantastic book. This story is about tragedy and second chances. Man did Ryan eat her words but the way it all played was perfect. This girl was a free spirit and you understand that as the book begins. As for Jackson and his situation my heart broke. The sad thing is it truly does happen sometimes. This man was a hero to his daughter and for his daughter. Jackson cherished her and let me tell you it was obvious. Melody man did I love that child and once her shell broke it was amazing. Now when you mix in Jackson and Ryan's chemistry it was a whole other story. WOW. Was this story all rainbows? No. You will hurt, you will laugh, but more importantly, you will fall in love with Jackson, Ryan, and Melody. I would love for the other side characters to get their books.
Where do I start I read this as an arc my first arc read and it was absolutely amazing!! It’s a military man and his daughter as main character having family issues( im a military wife ) and then along comes Ryan who was there to help melody after the passing of her mom to get her grades and schooling back up. Mel’s grandparents were trying to take her away from her dad so Jackson and Ryan got faked married to help along the process of Jackson keeping Mel. There is so much cute romance there is some spice and the story the whole way through will keep you interested. You get the click of the military wife’s n yes it’s a thing. There’s conflict with her ex and her ( fake husband). Over all I loved this book and will definitely recommend it to everyone to read it’s such a great book ❤️❤️❤️

I LOVED this book! I'm so grateful that I could enjoy reading it when is not even out yet! It has a great storyline and is also a spicy (And I know I'm putting myself out there with this but oh well 😊). Anyways I enjoyed and I liked the main characters personalities.
The book is about a girl who hates titles in a relationship and also she doesn't lime the idea of getting married and having her own kids BUT she also has a great heart and on her desire to help a little girl and the father of the little girl she does the unthinkable.

Arc review So you have a wild child named Ryan.... she is a carefree lady who just want to have fun. No strings attached and is enjoying life and is mixed in the world of military. Jackson is a military man and is a single father to a amazing girl called Melody. Throw a couple of things his way and who help him out with a fake marriage but is it fake???
I enjoyed the way this was written and was hooked from the beginning.

This novel was so good and focused on Jackson, a single dad and widower. Jackson’s daughter is struggling in school so he hires Ryan as her tutor. Their connection is undeniable. This is a marriage of convenience with an HEA despite it having been emotionally questionable at times! Definitely recommend this to military romance and marriage of convenience fans!
This is a super cute, super spicy, fake marriage, military romance. It follows Jackson and Ryan who keep married to prove that Jackson is the right person to keep his daughter. I mean what can go wrong with a fake marriage?

ARC REVIEW I devoured this book I absolutely adored Jackson and Ryan the way becca writes romance it’s beautiful and watching Jackson and Ryan’s story unfold just melted my heart another amazing read from a fantastic author can’t wait for her next book
What a great book by Becca! Military romance, marriage for convenience, age gap, slow burn and HEA♡
Jackson a Master Sergent in the military becomes a single dad after his late wife Carly past of cancer, despite being in a failing marriage with her he stayed until she past and took care of their daughter Melody.
He's doing what he can to help Mel, he's hard on the outside but broken on the inside and desperate for help. His x in laws are trying to take his daughter away. So what does he do... says he's marrying the tutor, Ryan.
I love that Ryan is independent, proud of her "boy name" and how her life is "unconventional" to the outside military family lifestyle. She embraces who she is and is honest about how she feels despite if she steps on a few toes. She's blunt honest about her view on relationships and kids and such.
Melody is a firecracker pre teen. Her and Ryan are a great little team. This was a great story! So many emotional moments. Slow but but worth the wait♡
The joking banter of Ryan giving Jackson nicknames is hilarious some of my favorite parts!
Grumpy/Sunshine ✅️ age gap ✅️ fake marriage ✅️ hot single dad in uniform ✅️✅️
I've read this book so many times and it's actually the first book I read of Becca's back when it released last summer. Which set me up to binge read them all and become apart of her team!
Jackson is gruff and set in his ways, but determined to give his daughter the best life and keep her with him at all costs. Even if it means making her full of life, spunky tutor his new wife! Even if it'll only be on paper! Or will it? Watch as Jackson and Ryan figure out life and go from strangers to friends. Could they be more? The growth of these 2 characters is something I love the most. How they let their guards down, and open up to one another and the possibilities of what could be and not just what they thought they wanted.
Absolutely love these two! But def convinced Murphy or Brady need stories!!! 🤔❤️
Amazing job by Becca Jones really. I loved the characters so much. Melody is such a cutie and her relationship with her father is adorable. On the other hand, Ryan's personality is wild and fun. The writing style is not too complex but at the same time not boring at all. Really enjoyed reading it.
