The book is meant for both start ups and pros. Great thing about book is, author has explained examples and sytaxes precisly with proper sas technical language. it has everything from basic to advance. But if you are into clinical, you would still want to search for the wide applicability of sas hash beyond just merging and sorting.

Having said that, the programmers who are experienced and have been using hash can leverage couple of things from chapter 5 and 6. she has picked up good examles but as per clinical programming point of view they are not making much of sense. you would still need to rely on the other internet sources.

Lastly, this is a worth investing time to read to be able to understand hashing basic functionality.
