Robot Battles written by Gregg Matthews is a compelling and thrilling novel specially addressed to teenagers. I enjoyed the book a lot and I think the young will feel identified with the main character’s struggle to navigate the rough waters of high school. Dexter Poncelet is a young boy who has been bullied at school and apparently this won’t change as he starts high school. He is very intelligent and resourceful so he creates himself two new friends, a robot and a dron. Together they will overcome difficulties, protect and help each other.
This is a short and very well-written story that I am sure will delight readers. It combines an accurate description of what it means to be a teenager and a technological and fantastic world of robots and drones. I highly recommend it.

Robot Battles by Gregg Matthews is the amazing journey of Dexter, a teenager and his friends/inventions Blip and Gizmo. Dexter is a teenager who has been bullied all his life until he created his friends Blip the robot and Gizmo the drone. Their Goal is to save Dexter from the bullies and their robot friends from being destroyed just for the spectacle of robot battles. It is like looking at the future of AI, everybody is looking for a place they belong to, especially when these young creations start to have emotions and feelings as he does. They found comrades within each other. It is really inspiring how friendship can be found in different places. It's a more positive take on the advancing AI technology.

Robot Battles by author Gregg Matthews is a science fiction futuristic story, starring Dexter Poncelet, a teenager who builds Blip, a robot, and Gizmo, a drone, with the aim of defending him from the bullying he has suffered since childhood.

Told in a clear and simple way, the plot encourages the imagination of young readers who will surely be engaged by the futuristic scenes and the technological advances proposed.

I think that this book, in addition to facilitating entertainment and the reading habit, will be a good accompaniment for its target audience. The main character transmits his experiences and feelings easily through reading, which will surely generate identification of those who suffer or have suffered the same problems in their adolescence.

Robot Battles by Gregg Matthews is an adventurous and fascinating story of human and robot journey together. Dexter Poncelet is a victim of bullying his entire life, and the first day of high school doesn't seem to be any different either. To overcome bullying, he thinks about homeschooling and also builds a network of computers and builds a robot Blip. Together, Dexter and Blip overcome the problems that plague their worlds, helping each other in their own ways. I enjoyed the story of the human and robot world, their interaction and understanding of each other is amazing. There are unexpected turns, and the robot battles teach us a lesson. The author’s narration style is entertaining and engaging. I highly recommend this experience.

Robot Battles is a Sci-Fi novel written by Gregg Matthews. The story starts with a very common problem that´s hard to deal with: Bullying.

Dexter Poncelet is trying to make it in high school, but the constant bullying he's receiving is making life very hard. Having an original idea, he decides to homeschool himself and starts building up a technological base of operations, the goal is clear: Create a robot and a drone to use for protection.

I liked the approach the author gave to this book about bullying, writing with creativity and original ideas about the subject. The futuristic world that keeps having the same troubles as nowadays is, in my opinion, hilarious.

Just wow! The author of this book, Gregg Matthews, is clearly a talent to whom I will pay close attention to from now on.
This exciting story has plenty of betrayals, adventure, teenagers, courage and robots! I loved the fact that this title includes an important and actual topic such as bullying and how it’s cleverly mixed with fantasy. Both worlds are intrinsically connected.
In terms of development, let me say that the plot is nicely structured and each chapter is a stylishly laid-out mystery. It's dark, a bit disturbing and all the twists make it an excellent choice!
Without any hesitation, I’m looking forward to read more from this author. A highly recommended title.

Full of sparkling and speculative actions, Robot Battles is a tale whose main theme for me does not seem to be the one that is suggested by the title. Robot Battles take place, for sure, but friendship and being supportive towards others, especially friends, is the main core of this sci-fi adventure.
This book shows a combination of tight, evocative prose combined with dialogues. It is a concoction of events whose scope is the broad canvas of how life really is for adolescents: jokes at school, being bullied and struggling to fit in while they detach themselves from reality by playing video games or some other kind of virtual activity.

This is an enthralling book that takes readers on a captivating journey through the world of futuristic robots and all of what that brings. The novel manages to appeal to readers who are not necessarily fans of the genre. Author Gregg Matthews' style is engaging making the story easy to follow and enjoy.

I really liked the plot. I think it is well thought out, filled with suspense, action and unexpected twists that keep the reader hooked until the end. One of the things I enjoyed about his read the most was how the author blends technology and human emotions, creating a compelling narrative with the moral dilemmas and consequences of advanced robotics.

not bad, has me wondering if AI wrote it.

If you know or don’t know computer terms this book will spell it out for you. Half teen drama half robot battles.

The copy pasting is why I deducted two stars. The style is very odd. It’s like the author was told it needs to be 5 paragraphs but only has 3 paragraphs of content so copy pasted things that could be summarized in two to three words.

I almost stopped reading several times due to the style.
