This is a well written love story but I was surprised that a Duke was so passive and didn't seem very smart. Some things were so obvious but he just couldn't see it. I'm glad things worked out in the end.
Loved it! Witty and kept your interest. About three kids, two servant kids and the dukes' kid, all raised together becoming good trusting friends. Then jealousy rears it's ugly head, but forgiveness Will restore all wounds.
I could not finish the first chapter much less the book. Those of you who think they can write an historical romance, especially when about English hierarchy without research is ignorant. Get real! Would you call the King 'dude'? Not unless you were totally disrespectful. King of Queen are you majesty, Prince princess are your highness, duke and success your grace!!!
I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters and how loyal they were to each other. Very different. The fact that they grew from childhood friends to married couple… the humor and the kindness of others. Very good book. I will read it again later.

I loved this book. It's the story of Alec the Duke and Hannah his childhood friend the daughter of the housekeeper. Alec became a duke without any training. His older brother was supposed to be the Duke, but he died. After his father died, Alec tried his best to become the duke. However, His father died w gambling debt, then his childhood friend Robert was the Stewart of the Dukes money and Hannah filled in where she was needed in the housekeeping. Alec was doing everything he could to pay off the debt and keep from becoming bankrupt. I loved that Alec still loved his childhood friends and didn't feel he was above them. I hated it when Alec kept making bad financial decision because he trusted the wrong person. Anyone who loves Regency historical romance with some serious complications would love this book. Leah Conolly is one of my favorite authors' because she writes great stories.
