They said: Find a ghost.  He heard: Find the truth.

Paranormal investigator Preston Tiptree is what people in ghost hunting circles call a Talker. He can both see and communicate with supernatural entities.

In Chasing Shadows, he takes his sharp wit and gifted sight to North Carolina to solve the mystery of why an upscale gated community is being overrun by creatures that even the local ghosts fear.

Along the way, he uncovers truths about human nature that are scarier than anything with claws.

This is Book One of The Ghost Hunter Chronicles.

*I received a free copy of this book from the author via voracious readers only in exchange for an honest review*
Overall I enjoyed it, it had a storyline that I was really intrigued in and a great main character. However it didn’t flow quite as well as I would have liked and felt a bit like parts were missing in places.

I received a free copy of the book via Voracious Readers in return for an honest review. The book covers racism and environmental issues in an entertaining way and other than a mix up with the names in one part, was fairly well written and quite descriptive. The author obviously has some imagination! I enjoyed the book and will probably read more of the series at some point.

Fantastic book. I got a copy from Voracious readers in return for a review but have never been happier to do so. Read it in one sitting. Great characters, great story.

I received a free copy of this book [via Voracious Readers] to review.

I really liked the sound of this book, but it didn't quite live up to its potential. The story jumps around a lot and doesn't have the flow that makes for an enjoyable read. It got off to a good start, but began to feel disjointed. I may go back and try reading it again, but feel it could be improved with some good editing.

Chasing Shadows may well be the most vibrant paranormal mystery I’ve ever read. There are no vampires or werewolves in this well drawn urban fantasy, but there are plenty of ghosts, spirits and extra dimensional beings. This novel caught me from chapter one and just didn’t let go again until I’d reached the end.

In addition to a rich backdrop of ghosts, etc., there is a fascinating mystery (or three) that powers this novel as our hero tries to track down why a home is being haunted by an extremely large number of other worldly beings. The answer to that quickly becomes even more complicated involving an environmental tech company trying to save the world from carbon fuels, a failing marriage, and a possible otherworldly invasion.

As you can see from the above paragraph, this book is hard to pin down. Every time I thought I knew what was going on the author threw me for another fascinating loop. If you’re looking for a new type of urban fantasy and love ghosts, you should take a look at Chasing Shadows.

I received this story for free from Voracious Readers Only in exchange for an honest review.

EDIT:
So, after continuing on from the debacle of page 78, things got rather....confusing! What had been reasonably straightforward up to this point, became all very muddled. To the point that I was wondering if this was book 2 or 3 in a series and I'd missed something earlier that would have helped....but this is book 1!

Lots of characters to try to keep track of, lots of different species, Mother Nature made a few appearances, along with a Mother Nature from a different Astral Plane or something (I think)....

Anyway, I did finish the book, I really like the way the author writes, and I would try something else from him.

I don't often add a mid-read review.....but I'm disappointed!

All was going so well until page 78 - Tree is at the bar having a conversation with Alan, he hands Alan some paperwork regarding Ronnie.....but then it's "Bobby" who throws the paperwork on the floor, Bobby who comes back 10 minutes later, and then states "Bobby is not my kid".......It should have been Alan who threw the paperwork, Alan who came back, and said "Ronnie is not my kid".....

Anyway - I'm still enjoying the story itself, so, onwards.....

Most excellent story

Loved this book. Lots of action, gripping storyline, interesting presentation of dimensional and mythical environment. Something new, yay! Where's the next book ?

This book had such potential, with a good storyline and a style that holds a reader's interest.

Unfortunately, I found it too confusing to enjoy it. I kept getting muddled up with characters, and being the kindle version, I couldn't just flick back to remind myself who was who. I also struggled to work out where the main character was at any given moment, as he hopped around so much.

Even at the end I also struggled to work out who was good and bad and everyone's motives for their actions.

Maybe if I read it again some time, I might enjoy it, but the first time though it didn't work for me.

Paranormal Excellence.

This is a story of Deities and Gods some who’s names we know and some that we do not .It also carries a warning about what we are doing to our planet .But most of all it is a brilliant read with a unusual hero .I read this book in one sitting to be honest I could not put it down .Read it for yourself and you will quickly see what I mean. I am hoping that it will not be to long before the second book is published .

A good read

Wonderful quirky sense of humour gets the main character through the challenges of dealing with the dead but not departed. A bit mystery, occult, romance while highlighting the realities of modern life.

I loved it! Definitely different from the other stories that have a medium in it. Loved Tree’s character with all the wit and sarcasm of Harry Dresden with a dash of early Anita Blake. Anyone who is a fan of paranormal fiction needs to read this book.

Great new voice

And story line. This promises to be a series with substance and heart and some pretty well thought out world building. I look forward to more

It was hard to keep track of who was who, and what was going on. I truly enjoyed the premise of the book, and I feel it could be quite enjoyable, but for the jumping around.
