He was Israels beloved champion. Not only had he saved the kingdom, but the lives of Hassar Jonathan and King Shaul as well. Even so, Shaul took away his freedom . . . and then gave him the generals mantle. A bittersweet reward indeed for Yahwehs chosen one.But he wasnt ready yet to lead the armies of Israelor to accept his true status as Mashiah. He needed timeand the hassars relentless training. Roeh Shamuels steady guidance calmed his If you are to fulfill Yahwehs task, you must accept the place He has for you and conduct yourself in such a manner as to bring honor to the One who gave it to you."And so, despite Abners blatant contempt and Shauls persistent censure, regardless of his own failure or triumph in battle, he chose unswerving loyalty to Yahweh. No one would ever fully understand the consequences of such devotion. No one but Jonathan.
I have never lived more than 30 miles from Lake Michigan. I was born on the east side, grew up on the west side, and now live on the east side again. However, I rarely have time to go there! I attended Andrews University, graduating with a Master's Degree in History in 1986. I am a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the national honors society for History; and a charter member of the Andrews University chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, the national interdisciplinary honors society. I began writing for publication in 2000 after seeing the need for books about biblical characters which were not only biblically accurate, but historically and culturally accurate as well. My husband and I have been married for over 30 years and have two children. We have always lived in the same house!
The second book of the incredible Dahveed series was such an incredible read. The first book of this series was all about David walking according to God's will and overcoming the fear of bring shame to his family. In the Second book, Dahveed, after defeating Goliath and coming home as Israel's champion is forced to face an angry jealous king. Never the less, King Saul stays true to his word and rewards Dahveed with the marriage to Merab and the title of general of Israel's army. Through many challenges such as the demotion from army general down to commander to mixed feelings towards his betrothed wife Merab to dealing with his tyrannic older brother Eliab, dahveed manages to stay true to the will of God and he uses these challenges as an opportunity to grow closer to his ultimate goal of becoming king of isreal. I would definitely recommend this book first to any one who loves to study the bible because of its biblical accuracy. The author of this book did some serious research on the biblical times of david and she even joined a Hebrew class just to get better acquainted with the language of the time of david. Second I would recommend this book to anyone who loves action, clean romance and chivalry.
The very day I finished reading Daveed: Yahweh' Chosen I ordered Yahweh's Warrior. As with all her previous books, I just could not put this book down. A must have for anyone! Going now to purchase Daveed III and anxiously awaiting Daveed IV to come out.
This take of David’s life entirely engages readers from the outset. A well-written and uplifting book, Yahweh’s Warrior has many ties to the prequel of this series, Ruth and Boaz. The intricate web of details from life in Israel brings readers into the world of Israel’s first kings, while each detail ends up somehow important for the main characters.
I have a hard time believing that a character as important to this plot line as Balak could have existed without being mentioned in the Biblical account, and I don’t enjoy the amount of respect we have for Michal considering her upcoming actions.
As a result of the gift Yahweh granted to Dahveed, he is titled as general of King Shaul’s army after saving the hassar’s life, slaying the giant Goliath, and warning the army of an ambush by the Philistines. But as the general’s mantle is laid on his shoulder, tension surfaces between Dahveed and the former general, Abner, King Shaul’s cousin. Under the hassar’s training, Dahveed gradually becomes fitted to the title of general, though it still hangs loosely on his mind. He is used to being a zammar and shepherd; and the name “Ben-geber” still stays with him negatively, even though his older brother Eliab is no longer constantly calling him by it.
Before long, Hassar Jonathan figures out that Dahveed is Yahweh’s anointed king, and he confronts Dahveed by trying to prepare him for living up to his title: Dahveed Israel. Dahveed then realizes that he is trying to cling to his old life. Yah’s calling, though, goes beyond the limits of Dahveed’s memories. But Dahveed must make the choice. He must become Yahweh’s Warrior.
Part 2 of the life story of one of the most famous kings of all time. Fivash has a very rare talent of making these legendary figures, into real human beings. I literally had to tear myself away from it, another winner, that has me anxiously awaiting part 3.
The best series of Bible naritives i have ever read, if you are looking for a great account of the story of david from the Bible. Look no further, this is it
The sequel to book 1# it carries on the adventures of David and what happens in his life. It tells of his marriage to Michal and his activities as general. This is another good book by Terri Fivash.
