Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle was a British writer and physician. He created the character Sherlock Holmes in 1887 for A Study in Scarlet, the first of four novels and fifty-six short stories about Holmes and Dr. Watson. The Sherlock Holmes stories are milestones in the field of crime fiction.
Doyle was a prolific writer. In addition to the Holmes stories, his works include fantasy and science fiction stories about Professor Challenger, and humorous stories about the Napoleonic soldier Brigadier Gerard, as well as plays, romances, poetry, non-fiction, and historical novels. One of Doyle's early short stories, "J. Habakuk Jephson's Statement" (1884), helped to popularise the mystery of the brigantine Mary Celeste, found drifting at sea with no crew member aboard.

A roller-coaster ride indeed! Nail-biting moments of suspense and intense excitement till I found out who was behind the murder, who was the kidnapper and who came out as faultless for each of the stories. While reading one would simply get transferred to the world where one would not only see, but observe minutely, reason out every action and reaction. Spent some wonderful days while observing Sherlock Holmes solving his cases. Often it had become a relief if the culprit in my mind turned out the real one. It was not mere reading, but getting thrilled while unfolding the mysteries. Outside the conventions and humdrum routine of everyday life, Sherlock Holmes is an absolute pleasure.

This book is about a detective named Sherlock holmes one of the greatest (fictional) detectives in the world that solves cases left and right and no matter the case he can solve them all. the book starts off with a woman who was killed inside a locked room in a London hotel. he tries to solve this case day and night to solve this case but he takes a minute to have some coffee so he can solve it and he is so into this case he went back at it again for example "I shall be my own police. When I have spun the web they may take the flies, but not before." (Doyle 101)". I do like this book because it shows his personality and what he does for a living. So I think this book is good.
