Chrononaut is a time travel based sci-fi novella by R.S. Cobb. It's a quick read that's action-packed with a few plot twists to keep a reader on their toes. Even though this is a novella, the story can be made better by adding a lot bit more plot & detail in order to make it a completely immersive story. Because of the rapid pacing of the book, a lot of things don't sit right, like you want to believe what you're reading, but something just feels off.
The characters are great. We meet most of them very briefly, but the main character, John, is an upstanding guy. (Minor spoiler) I would definitely like to see Chrononaut in another multiverse where things work out.
Overall, it's a good & entertaining story if you are someone who likes to read about sci-fi or time travel. However, it can be a bit better plot wise.

Chrononaut is a very short, sharp time-travel story in which our main protagonist, John, gets a burst of dark energy from a particle accelerator and develops special powers. But he is not the only one, and of the others, a detective turns into his foe and tries to kill him in order to absorb his power. As such, the story has similarity to… well, a hundred other such stories (Highlander, Jumper, you name it). I’m not entirely clear what the USP is. The writing is adequate, although the formatting is poor and there are typos and spelling mistakes throughout. I wondered about a ‘2’, but there is a certain tempo to the writing, and there are hints of characterisation (especially of the detective) that weren’t bad.

Fast, fun Sci-fi!
Takes a little work to keep up with this fast-paced, time-travel twisted story, but it is definitely worth it. Would make a good movie! R.S. Cobb starts dropping breadcrumbs early on as curiosity pulls you into the story. You will want to know what is going on and who are these people? Only four characters to really keep track of, each contributing to a final explanation of what is going on. A cool spin on some typical sci-fi happenings! I found myself rooting for John, the main character.
