44 Chapters #3

Star: by the bestselling author of Sex/Life: 44 chapters about 4 men

Rate this book
44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN, BB Easton's bestselling memoir, is the inspiration for Netflix's new Sex/Life. BB had so much fun writing her award-winning memoir that she decided to give each of her four men his own steamy standalone. This is book three, Hal's story - a whirlwind rock star romance based on true events . . .In 1999, BB Easton met her Prince Charming. He was the tall, tattooed, wickedly handsome bass player for the up-and-coming rock band Phantom Limb. But, more importantly, he was hers. She knew it the moment he flashed her that shy, dimpled smile. And he knew it too.Hansel "Hans" Oppenheimer wore his heart on his sleeve and poured his soul into every lyric he wrote about BB. Unlike the guys she'd dated in the past, Hans showered her with tenderness, took her places she'd never been before, and showed her the type of all-consuming love she'd thought only existed in fairy tales. But, like any good fairy tale, her road to happily ever after was paved with challenges, and right when she least expected it . . . it forked.'Star is the kind of '90s teenage dream you won't want to wake up from. BB's world is hotter than stage lights, and this must-read book is your backstage pass. I love this series!' Kayti McGee, author of Want

B.B. Easton

BB Easton is the Wall Street Journal bestselling author of 44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN, the hilarious, steamy, tell-all memoir that inspired the Netflix Original Series, SEX/LIFE. Within the first month, SEX/LIFE was viewed by 67 million households worldwide, making it the 3rd Most-Watched Netflix Original Series of all time.

BB was a stressed-out school psychologist and mother of two when the inspiration to write 44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN struck. Through that process, she rediscovered her passion for writing, became dangerously sleep-deprived, and finally mustered enough courage to quit her job and become a full-time author.

BB went on to publish four more wickedly funny, shockingly steamy, and heartwarmingly autobiographical books in the 44 CHAPTERS series: SKIN, SPEED, STAR, and SUIT. Since then, she's been hard at work writing fictional stories that appeal to her love for us-against-the-world romance, including a dystopian trilogy (PRAYING FOR RAIN), a psychologist-client romantic comedy (GROUP THERAPY), and a dark mafia romance (DEVIL OF DUBLIN).

*****FIVE STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

In our year together, Hans had taken me places I’d never been. Given me experiences I’d only dreamed of. He’d made me pull over and look at the stars when I would have just sped on by. And that night, in that car, Hans showed me that he’d rather have a boyish, smart-ass troublemaker than all the curvaceous, red-lipped groupies in the world. He showed me my worth. And I would never be able to unsee it again.

BREATHTAKING!! Now I understand what all the hype has been over this author’s series. I only wish I had started at book one, even though STAR can be read as a standalone. I’m not normally a fan of drug use and underage drinking in books and I had been warned that it is prevalent in BB Easton’s stories but all of the glowing reviews of her previous works had my curiosity piqued! I’m so glad I decided to take a chance on this author. I’m so madly in love with her writing. I was completely swept away by BB and Hans’ love story. The writing is so incredible, I felt like I was experiencing all of the exhilaration, joy, sadness, and despair along with the Heroine. She was an easily relatable and lovable character. I am in awe of this woman, who at the tender age of seventeen, and had been through so much in such a short span of time!

BB and Hans meet at a house party and somehow the next morning they wake up in a strange bed together. From that moment on their love affair takes flight and I couldn’t help but experience all the butterflies along with BB as she starts to win the affections of the beautiful and soulful Rock God who made her feel like his Queen. BB has been in some really hard relationships in her past and they have left lasting physical and mental scars. They have messed with her psyche and made her doubt her self-worth, but this beautiful boy with a generous heart wraps her up in his affection and slowly helps her realize that she’s been knocking herself down for far too long.

I loved experiencing this new and exciting relationship grow and felt the desperation Hans and BB were often overcome by whenever they were forced to spend time apart. I was so completely gone over Hans that I hoped that BB would get to ride off into the sunset of happily ever after with her beautiful unicorn. I knew going in that each book in the ”44 Chapters” series was about a different man in her life and yet I still clung to some blind hope that my man would get the girl.

All I can say is that Hans is another rock god who has stolen a piece of my heart. He was one hell of a charismatic character. It does the heart good to know that this man is really out there! And I am officially in love with BB Easton! She has made a fangirl for life out of me!

Here are my overall ratings:

Hero: 5
Heroine: 5
Plot: 5
Angst: 5
Steam: 5
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 5

STAR is currently available!! Believe the HYPE ladies! This author is the real deal! I just went and one-clicked all the previous books in this series! Now all I have to do is find the time to get to each and every one of them!!

POV: First Person - Female
Rating:

Brooke (BB) Bradley was slowly mending from her last relationship. The scar (literally and figuratively) was still fresh, but she was determined to start anew. So when she caught the attention of a musician, she readily jumped headfirst.

Hansel (Hans) Oppenheimer was a demon on the outside but an angel on the inside. As a bass player of an up and coming band, his music was his number one passion until he met his muse. He might be Prince Charming but not all fairytale would end up with a happily ever after.

Hans was showing me that my very flesh was worthy of affection all by itself. Even the scars.

I'd like to confess I didn't remember Hans much from 44 Chapters About 4 Men, but he certainly left an impression in this one. He made me all swoony with his sweetness, kindness and generosity.

I’d finally found the perfect man, and I was doomed to watch other women try to fuck him for the rest of eternity.

I'm glad that BB finally started showing some maturity. I like her free spirit but she tended to self-sabotage. It was good to see how she learned to recognize her self-worth.

I enjoyed the overall story. Hans and BB fell in love fast and hard. Even though the timeframe was short, their love felt like a sweeping saga - with vices and rock n' roll of course. I love all the secondary characters especially Trip and Jason.

He’d done what I’d never been able to do for myself. He’d shown me my worth. And one day, when I was less angry, I’d thank him for it.

Star is a story of being loved the way one deserves. Knight will always be my number one, but Hans is close second. Ken better up his game in next book in this tough competition haha!

❝ Hans  didn't belong to someone else. He never had. He'd been mine since the dawn of time.❞

Brooke (BB) Bradley was bound to move on from her last dramatic relationship.  She meets a talented musician and even thought she didn't except to fall for him fast she was excited for a new change in her life.

Hansel (Hans) Oppenheimer looked like a total bad boy but he was so darn cute and sweet.  His love for music and talent in playing the bass soon became a well known when the band gets noticed and start a new journey of fame.

❝ Hans had taken me places I'd never been. Given me experiences I'd only dreamed of.  He'd made me pull over and look at the stars when I would have just sped on by.  And that night, in that car,...He showed me my worth. And I would never be able to unsee it again.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book at first because my heart is still bleeding for one particular character I love so much.  Knight will always be my first love as far as am concerned haha.  So when he shows up in this book my heart did flips and heart palpitations and made this book so much interesting and exciting for me.

❝ I knew that, in an alternative universe, Knight could have easily grown up to be just like Hans. A sensitive artist who poured himself into his craft and loved with every once of his soul.❞

Even thought I really liked Hans I was never truly invested with him.  Instead I found myself drooling and loving one fourth character in particular Mr Pajama Man did a number in my heart and now I can't hardly wait for the next book.

I really enjoyed Star; it was fun, sweet and I really loved seeing B.B. grow up and learn how to appreciate life and learn how to love herself.  I liked how she matures on this story and I am excited to read more in the next book.  This book will appealing to readers who enjoy romance stories.

FIVE MILLION ROCKSTAR~STARS*************

Omg these books make me CRAZY!!!!! and I love it so much. This whole series is just precious! I can probably write this entire review full with exclamation marks. I’m so pumped! So happy! So in love! So fucking everything!!!!!

Shame on any friend who had read these books, and didn’t bully me, pushed me to the ground, and forced me to read these books before. Special shot-out to my bestie, my blog partner, my Boo, for texting me this past Wednesday to tell me to stop everything that I was doing and read B.B Easton, immediately! I will forever be grateful to you. My new mission in life is to push, and push, and push, and scream, and force, everyone I know to read these books, because regardless of the heartbreak, the darkness, the omg-red-hot-passionate-sex, these books are just a joy to read. That’s exactly how I feel right now, joyful.

Now onto the review of Star. I want to publicly apologize to the people who read my reviews, I know I’m “supposed” to be a professional reviewer, but B.B Easton’s books have the same effect on me as doing hard core drugs, pure ecstasy.

Okay, so of course B.B meets a gorgeous bassist, he plays on a rock band, and they fall in love. Beautiful, manic, romantic, intense, love.

But the life of a rockstar is hard, and more for those around them. In this third book B.B is more grownup, her priorities are shifting and, more importantly, she’s learning a very important lesson, thanks to her beautiful Hans; her worth.

I think what I love most about reading BB’s words is that whether they are 100% true, or 25% embellished (I know, weird numbers. Please note that I’ve been drinking, while reading, and writing) is that any person who reads these stories can find a little bit, or a lot of themselves in it. Thorough BB’s experiences, I have found myself reminiscing of those days, when I was young, and fearless and desperate for a boy to make me feel loved, and taken care of. And just like her, I found my partner in crime, very early on in my life (married 15 years!) and we are still going strong. So, I CANNOT FUCKING WAIT to read Suit, the next book in this series, because is the love story between BB and the most important man of all, her husband. We get a glimpse of him in this book, and let me tell you,he sounds Hot! (No disrespect to Mrs. B.B Easton)

One last thing I need to say before I end this “review “ is that the music, that this author has put together for the AMAZING, OFF-THE-CHAIN playlist for every single book, will be the only thing to keep me sane before the next book comes out, next month.

Peace out!

Self-indulgent, sappy, seriously a bit boring.

There's not much Knight for my friends considering this installment, there's much more of Ken, but there's definitely enough Knight to merit the trigger/content warning here too.

It's becoming as difficult to see the casual ED issues (in terms of how Easton presents them, ingrained, second nature, etc) as anything else.

But yeah, this installment, I see the purpose (and laughed about the retribution) but it was very unsatisfying for me. It read like a fantasy of a NA relationship until it wasn't.

⭐⭐⭐⭐🌠 Rock Star Stars

Well this book was a complete surprise, one minute i was laughing my head off, then my heart was in my mouth, and then i was sobbing!

BB takes a story about her life and lets you take a glimpse inside what it is like to fall in love with a Rock Star, the good times, and inevitably, the bad.

She is very honest in her stories and this makes her very relatable as we've all been a 17 year old in love.

And in those 17 years this woman has had to put up with some shitty times, she was in an abusive relationship with what can only be described as a nutter.

Then she meets Hans Oppenheimer, and all of the feelings of first love come flooding in, the butterflies, the giddyness, the swooning!

Hans managed to make a beaten down girl into a strong independant woman, and even though her love didn't last with him, she states at the beginning of the book that she will always be grateful to him because of this.

I love her secondary characters, and Trip was such a lovable weirdo, although i googled Bukkake porn, and i will never be the same again 😱😱

🎧🎧 Narration was done by Romana Master and was fab, she really made a funny quirky character come to life.

Thank you BB for the opportunity to read such a fabulous book.

Don't read this unless you love whip-crack hysterical wit, rockstars, fantastic writing, effervescent pixies, and absolutely brilliant romance. BB Easton never fails to wow me, to consume my heart, to make me laugh, and to consider a new profession--she's that incredible. 5 LDH stars!

Thank you, Hans. Your love broke the spell...

Gaaahhhh! Oh how I wish I was grew up with BB. She's had such hella good adventures!

As we know, Star is an elaboration/continuation from 44 Chapters about 4 Men.  Star is about her adventures with Hans, the dreamy bass guitarist. "His bass was red, red, red..."

After a quite rocky start to her love life, BB was able to taste a bit of what true love could feel like.  Hans treated her like a queen, until he didn't. I was happy to see that BB learned her worth during her relationship with Hans.

Hans was the dreamy rocker, he was what BB needed after her horrible accident involving Harley and Knight.  He put off the bad boy vibes that she felt she wanted and needed, but also the comfort and a bit of stability that she really needed. He was perfect for her, until he wasn't and luckily BB recognized when it was time to let him go.

I loved to see BB maturity grow, but not so much that it took away from her personality and her spunk!  She was responsible in her own way and it was fabulous to see it!  Her humor is fantastic and her vulnerability is warranted and I so wish I had a friend like her when I was growing up!

I loved the introduction to Ken, (F..king Ken!) I cannot wait to get more into BB & Ken's love story.  I want to see what makes him tick!

BB is an amazing writer that pulls you into her words, which is amazing! When reading her stories, I feel I am in the passenger seat of her 'Stang and holding on for dear life, laughing, screaming and smoking my cigarette with her!  Thank you for your world BB! Don't ever stop writing!!

This is a story about the 3rd man in BB's life, Hans Oppenheimer.

I love this book and I really really love Hans.
He's what all girls dream about.
He is sweet, swoony, romantic and hot 🥰
He is an amazing musician with a enormous heart and a beautiful soul.

I love this insta-love emotional story.
Their soul mates feelings and unbelievable chemistry is pouring from every page of this book (maybe not everyone, just 70% 🤭)
I was devastated that he was so weak at the end of this book.
I hope he finds his way to happiness again 😪

BB is my favorite badass heroine ever. She is funny, sarcastic and  romantic. She's always on the lookout for love and affection, but she wouldn't be satisfied with anything less than perfect.
I love how she always stays with both feet on earth after every disappointment.
She is strong and she is a fighter, even if she sometimes doesn't believe it herself.

Well, BB Easton has gone and done it again. This is the fourth book in the 44 Chapters series. This book is all about BB turning 18 and finding out that she can be strong through her struggles and journeys as well as find happiness. I am going to go on record and say, if BB and I lived in the same city at the same time in our lives, we would have totally hung out and got along so well! We could have helped each other, and life may have been a little bit more fun. She has a way of telling a story that is so fluent, real, raw and adventurous. You ride along with her and you experience life through her eyes so passionately.

“When times got lean, I’d been known to offer tokens carved out of my own heart, gift-wrapped wisps of my soul.”

Star brings us a new love. Star introduces us to a guy that helped BB know that she was worthy of life and love. BB tells us about a time in her life that she was trying to heal and, in the process, found out that a certain bass player treated her like she should have been treated. Hans comes along in the book as a super swoon worthy guy that literally sweeps BB off her steel toed boots.

“He gave, and he gave until I was so full of love that it leaked out of my eyes. I think that’s why I cried so much whenever he was around. Because I was overflowing.”

We go along with BB as she tries to make the most out of life with a Rockstar boyfriend. She is trying to balance college, love, and life in general at a time in her life that seems to be flying by. Although, I will ALWAYS be Team Knight, I honestly feel as if Hans helped to heal BB’s soul. She needed to know that she is an amazing soul and worth so much more. As BB takes on school, tour dates, a live-in boyfriend, she soon discovers that she may be worthy of more. She has lived a fast, rough life in her 18 years and Hans (whether he knew or not) helped BB to mature to her fullest potential and know what she wants out of life. She has a decision to make and rock n’ roll guys are not going to stand in her way. I think Hans knew that too.

“I know it’s wrong to keep her. She belongs light-years away. I know it’s wrong to keep her, so every day I pray. Don’t let my falling star fade away. Please let this falling star…. fall for me.”

This book delivered what we all needed as BB heals. We all healed in the process. After Knight, Harley, and Hans…. we all know who is next! That MotherF@&%er Ken!! We all know how they ended up, but I can not wait to hear and live their story. As we get acquainted with Ken in Star, I have to say… I may have fallen for him too. So, we all need to put on our pajamas as BB brings us the last and final book in the series, Suit! Funny to think that pajama guy becomes the suit, and I can’t wait to hear all about it!

Thank you, BB, for taking us all along on your adventures and trusting us with your story. I flove you so hard!

“I thought she'd be there holding daisies, she always waits for me.
She thinks she missed the train to Mars, she's out back counting stars.” -Hum, Stars

Author BB Easton has done it again. I keep expecting these books to lose their fascination for me, and they never do.

I stumbled across Easton's original memoir, 44 Chapters About 4 Men, and was so excited when, at the end, she expressed a desire to write the individual stories of the relationships with these fascinating (and intense) men.

While the spin off books are novels, the ring of truth continues--they are, without exception, touching, hilarious, frightening, and thought-provoking.

In this third installment, STAR, Easton tells the story of her third major boyfriend, Hans, the base player in a burgeoning band, sweetheart, and scatterbrain.

It's impossible to talk about this story in specifics without ruining the surprises, but trust me: If you fall in love with a handsome, caring, badass easily, you might want to avoid this. This book will be your literature-crack.

I've said it before, and I'm sure I'll say it again: I cannot WAIT for the next book. Except, in theory, the next book is the end of this crazy ride. And I very definitely don't want to reach that point.

Buy it. Read it. You can thank me later.

BB is the real magician here!

I consider myself a tough critic. It takes a lot for me to hate a book, but it takes even more to get me to that fangirl level high love you will be sensing from me in just a minute.

I’m stumped. I don’t know how to review this sorcery! All I wanna do is fangirl. If you’ve ever read a BB Easton book, I’m sure you know the feeling. And if you haven’t, it’s time you do. She will speak your language. TRUST. ME.

I read so many books that they start to blend together. Knowing this series is based on true events in BB’s life, is what lured me in. Truth is always a scary yet brilliant thing to tempt us readers with, but what a recipe if a psychologist happens to be behind the work. That’s what makes it stand out on a bookshelf.

In Star, we meet Hans, BB’s utterly romantic bass-playing ex-boyfriend. We get a glimpse of him in a comedic way in the memoir, 44 Chapters About 4 Men. But now we get to watch them fall in love and other stuff, like we’re right there in the moment!

In fabulous writing fashion, BB continues her story about her wild, wonderful, tumultuous adolescence. And like he would a bass, Hans will pluck at your heart strings. (He hits that lower register, if ya know what I mean.)

Star is my new favorite! Selfishly, because I have my own Hans tucked in the corner of my heart. And I got to steal a few moments with him as BB took me back. I love her for making me feel that all-consuming feeling again. It’s got that magic. You just wanna keep everything you’re feeling, and feel it forever. You love it that much.

In the book, Hans is the magician that breaks the spell, but BB is the real magician for making us love those 4 strangers and herself.

And she summed up all my relationship problems in one sentence. I want to hire her to be my shrink!

*Sigh* Some may be willing to dismiss all these awesome reviews about an Indy author because she is completely and utterly the sweetest human being, and I did happen to receive an advance copy in exchange for an honest review, so that's what you are going to get, an HONEST review.

BB the author, is engaging, witty and attentive to all of her fan base, so you have a lot of very zealous fans for an incredible story teller. However, dismissing this quickly rising author would be a Big mistake, BIG!

READ her stories, you will love them. I feel that STAR might be able to be read as a stand alone, but you might be a bit lost, a few pieces may not fall into place right away, so do yourself a favor and read ALL of her books, but definitely make time to read this one.

This is the the story of BB and Hans Oppenheimer (Guy #3 as previously appeared in 44 Chapters about 4 men, you can check it out here ~~> https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...).

Adorably spirited, spunky, stressed, yet always a survivor, BB meets and falls completely in love with super sexy bass player Hans.....

It's the kind of love story that classic rock songs are written about, but that's not the part that won me over. What won me over was that this was not the kind of love that one gets lost in, it's a great kind of love, the kind where you don't get lost in your lovers eyes, you find yourself within them. Through Han's love BB's strong spirit is able to flourish. It's not just a love story wrapped up in the stereotypical coming of age story. It's the story of how one girl finally see's what she is worth and it leads her to a love that will last her life time.

B.B. Easton's writing weaves a story that draws you in and makes you feel all of the joy, sorrow, growth and excitement the heroin experiences. No matter how different you are, you can put yourself in young BB's shoes, flash backs of early loves, loss and your own experiences that helped form who you grew up to become. I caught myself laughing with her, slack jawed at many of her antics, and many times, yearning to just wrap my arms around her and tell her everything was going to be okay. I am not a crier. Books, movies, TV shows, they don't make me cry, well not usually. But, BB makes me cry, every DAMN book!

Do yourself a favor, order STAR, read it, love it. You can thank me later.

Star is book 3 in the 44 Chapters series. I went into this book unsure of what I would think because after reading Skin (book 1) and Speed (book 2), I was pretty cemented in my place as Team Knight.

Star is BB and Hans' book. Hans is the bass player in a band that is quickly gaining visibility and popularity. They meet at a party right after BB healed from her accident with Harley and Knight. It was perfect timing for helping BB pull herself together and take another step toward leaving her past behind her. When Hans and BB met, they were pretty much like two soul mates colliding toward their other half. They loved hard. They loved deep. They loved fierce. We got to take this journey with BB as she learned what it was like to be treated well and to not have to be scared or to be physically hurt in her relationship. We watched her keep working through her PTSD. We watched her start to blossom right before our eyes.

Of course, this story comes with some twists and turns and growing pains as BB navigates the course of the relationship. This is only book 3 of our 4 books about 4 men so it will be interesting to see what happens next for BB.

I love BB's writing. It is so filled with emotion and humor and wit and truth. Even though the truth may not be exactly what happened, the writing itself is so honest and raw. I feel so much whenever I read one of BB's books and I often have very strong reactions to her words. I smile like a fool, I cringe, I cry, my heart breaks, I get excited, I jump up and start pacing the room, I cheer, I root for BB. I feel it all.

This was a great book and I highly recommend this book as well as this series. I am rating Star as 4.5 stars. The only reason that it is not 5 stars is because I am rating it against the other books in the series and those gave me even more feelings and emotion and were both over 5 stars so to be fair to my overwhelming amounts of exploding love for Skin and Speed, I felt like I needed to just do 4.5 with this book.

Next up is Suit. I am so excited to read all about BB and Pajama Guy, aka Ken. Since we all know she married Ken, I know how it will end, but that doesn't stop me from being so excited to read about how their relationship unfolds. Even though I remained Team Knight, I am pretty confident that with all of the personal growth that BB has shown and with the things we saw from Ken in this book, that I very well may jump ship and join the Ken fan club...but only time will tell. Now we wait.

Have you ever read a BB Easton book???

If you haven't then you are freaking missing out!!! What are you waiting for?? Her writing style is out of this world and funny as shit!! She is one of a kind and I just love her!!!

BB Easton is such a bad ass author!!! She is all SEX.LOVE.AND ROCK AND ROLL!!! I had the pleasure of meeting her a little over a year ago at The Bookworm Box here in Texas. I had never even heard of her or read her work. But I stood in line and waited my turn to meet this lovely lady with the pink hair and the cool looken book covers.

Then one day I finally picked up one of those books with the cool looken covers and read it and holy shit did she knock my socks off!!! This woman if effen hilarious as she tells a story...actually her story and it is freaking out of this world!!! I have read almost all of her books, I didn't even read them in order..lol They have all been my favorite after I read each one...lol That's how great they are!!! But then I read Star..and it is now my fav!!!

Star is about BB and her whirl wind of a romance with the bass player Hans who plays for the up and coming rock band Phantom Limb!! You get a very up and close look into their lives of dating and all the sex, love and rock and roll that goes along with those bad ass rockers!!! Man these two where Hawt when they were together but BB had a bit of a jealous streak in her which I know all of us ladies would feel the same way about some girl sniffing around our man. But BB would go to a whole nother level!! lol Good lord I wish I could have been a fly on the wall being able to see all this take place in person...lol But hey...we get a book instead and it's about the next best thing..lol

I gave Star 5 "The whole galaxy" of Shining Stars!! I really didn't want the book to end but I did see she has a 4th book coming out-Suit coming in Fall 2018!!! Sign me up...I am ready!!

“Han’s didn’t belong to someone else. He never had. He’d been mine since the dawn of time.”

I can always count on BB Easton for one hell of read and STAR delivered just that, if not more. The wit and the spunk of Brooke Bradley is one thing I can always look forward to when I open these books up and because of that- this series has been the funnest to experience to date.

The entire time I was reading STAR, I kept feeling like something was going to happen. Bad. Everything was always just so good something was bound to go wrong and it was going to crash. And it was going to crash hard. And when I say that- I mean it. And when it happened, I was crushed. Because at this point in BB’s life—I got her. I get her. Her mothering, I. Got. It. So, feeling the things that BB felt in this book was such an overwhelming experience to me that I enjoyed to the fullest. The highs, the lows, and the middles. I felt it.

“Hans hadn’t been a mistake; he’d been a magician. He’d done what I’d never been able to do for myself. He’d shown me my worth. And one day, when I was less angry, I’d thank him for it.”

The new and old characters added so much to this book that without them, it would have been so dull. When secondary characters help make a book go around it makes it that much more enjoyable. Whether they add something positive or negative, it’s great to see that these people are experiencing the same things that a lot of us have. And it’s not all the same, every one is experiencing something different every time we turn the page.

“Ken’s embrace had fed me.
Han’s drank me dry.”

I imagine writing books like this is very cathartic and fun to write. Telling your story and experiencing it all over again as the years have passed just hits me at home. It might not have been fun living it, but the experiences and feelings were there. We all have those moments. And knowing that someone sat down and put it all out on pen and paper for readers to experience is incredible.

Every time BB Easton releases a book I wonder just how she is going to top it. How do you top Knight? Harley? Hans? I don’t know how she does it and I’m just going to say it right now. I have never EVER been more ready for Ken MF Easton as I am right now. SUIT is going to be off the charts and I’m going to be right here on the sideline cheering on BB every step of the way.

And We Have Another Winner !!!
Star by the incredibly talented and outstanding author B.B. Easton put me in a roller coaster. The story sucked me in, whirled me around, gutted me and then spat me out. I read the previous books and couldn´t wait to get my hands on Star. And it was so worth the wait.
I literally just finished the book and now I´m trying to find words to write a adequate review.

Star is book three in the 44 Chapters Series, a Spin-off to 44 Chapters about 4 Men. The previous books are Skin - Knight´s story; Speed - Harley´s story and now Star - Hans´ story.

B.B. - Brooke Bradley is a young girl with a colorful past. She´s a blip of a girl but much stronger than she seems. She already survived abusive relationships and came out of them stronger.
And then she meets Hansel - Hans - Oppenheimer. It takes one touch and sparks fly. They have a deep, a very deep, bone deep connection.
Hans is the bass player in a up and coming rockband. He´s a good guy, a pleaser and he loves her with his whole heart.
Only Brooke is so young, and about to start college. Yes she loves him too and I strongly rooted for the couple. But life / fate start to throw wrenches their way. He´s on tour- without BB and she makes new friends without Hans.
In Star isn´t a villain you can point your finger at and say: It´s your fault. Both make mistakes and have to bear the consquences. And then a ghost from her past shows up and I was like WHAT??? No, don´t go back to HIM!!!! Sorry folks, no spoiler here. Only so much, Star is a heartwrenching story, a emotional read and my absolute favorite read in this series.
The writing is excellent, the story is uniqe and I can´t say how much I love the characters and the words. I connected with the characters on a deep level. I could feel their emotions in the words.
I can´t wait for the next book in the series, Suit - coming fall.
I highly recommend the book and the series and wish I could give more than 5 stars.

I feel like I can't even begin to adequately review "Star" by BB Easton. From page one, I knew I was in for a love story that not only brought me back to my teenage years, but also made me want to be a little bit bad. Unashamed in her love, and her desire to be loved in return, BB embraces Hans in an epic whirlwind of emotions, drugs, alcohol and changes. Hans and BB love so very hard, and you can feel the depth of their connection through BB's incredibly inspiring and moving descriptions. I wish everyone could experience a love on that level, even if it doesn't end in an HEA. The dependency that BB and Hans have with one another may not have exactly been healthy, but what an experience to learn and grow from. I really felt as though I was reading about two souls connecting and entwining, and as wonderful as Hans is, and as much as I have a crush on him, I'm beyond ready to get suited up with Ken in BB's next book.

Brooke fucking Bradley struck again. This chick is my spirit animal. It’s like completely reliving all of the fun and bad decisions I made as a seventeen year old high school graduate. Same as in the past, BB does not disappoint. Star took me on an illegal car chase back to 1999 and all of the wild misadventures that that the summer after high school and the first year of college brought to my life. Hans melted my heart and pissed me off and then the ending. Omg. Suit can’t get here fast enough!

✨4.5 STARS ✨

I think there’s something wrong with me, because I remain very interested in Knight. That being said, Hans was fantastic. I think a lot of us can relate to having a Hans in our past, an SO that wasn’t meant to be forever but that taught us a lot of important lessons that we needed to learn to be ready for the real thing.

This book made me smile, laugh, and tear up. Was Hans a cliché, sensitive, hard-partying rock star? Yes. Did I really care? No. Our narrator remains the star of the show, and I can’t wait to see how it all ends for her. (And Knight, obvs).

This will be short...

Couple things:

1. Read BB Easton
2. Read Skin, Speed, Star and Suit before reading 44 Chapters

I have been aching for Hans and BBs story so hard.  SO HARD.  And let me tell you that it was worth the wait.  One thing that I love about Easton’s writing is that she doesn’t drag you along for however long in a story for a build up.  NOPE.  No hesitation in her story telling, she jumps right into the lap of Hans on the very first page and has you hooked.  Really hooked, like, I avoided my Ambien last night so that I wouldn’t have to stop reading and now my life sucks today because, well, no sleep.  DUH.
There’s no slow parts, no parts that make you want to take a break and eat a taco because you’re all ‘meh’. Nope.  You’ll probably forget about eating until Hans has those delicious tacos and you’re making a 2am run to Taco Bell.  Opps.  Rambling Kris again, someone get a leash for my brain.

“He might look like seventy-five inches of pierced, tattoos, heavy-metal mayhem, but he was one hundred percent snuggle bunny.”

Hans and BB fall hard for eachother and FAST.  And its a sweeter love than what we experienced in her life so far *cough*Iloveyouknight*cough*.  Up and coming rockstar living the fast life and smart little badass BB, kicking life’s ass.  Seriously, I cannot emphasize enough how much life ass kicking she does.  She grabs life’s balls and twists so hard.   She’s healed from the wreck we read about in Speed, (UGH DONT GET ME STARTED), she’s officially graduated early, trying to move past those pesky ex’s of hers, and starting college.  At a party one night she is claimed instantly by Hans,  as in, ‘Hey I don’t know who you are but you’re sitting on my lap for the rest of the night’.  And it worked.  Their relationship boomed, and boomed big.  From New Orleans to Y2K New Years in Times Square, BB follows the band around and supports her boy toy.

“Before he’d shown up that night, I’d thought I might die.  Now that I was in his arms, I felt as though I could fly.”

Shit happens though, you know?  Young love, rock n roll lifestyle and jealousy doesn’t really mix well, especially for new relationships.  Monster truck driving skin-head ex boyfriends that basically stalk her don’t help either, but if you’re familiar with this series than you expect nothing less from my man Knight.  *siiiiggghhh*. Yes,  I know I’m dysfunctional okay?
I don’t want to give too much up of a story, which I’m totally guilty of just telling everyone what happens in it so then I spoiled the entire thing.  IM TRYING NO TO DO THAT.  But Hans is kind of a deadbeat by the end of the book.  It made me miss my Knight even more no matter how absolutely crazy that guy is. (Hey, I have a soft spot for military men who are damaged, okay?).
BUT WE FINALLY GET A GOOD MEETING OF KEN AND I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL SUIT COMES OUT THIS FALL!!!  Gah.  BBs momma always said she wish she would have married a accountant instead of a budding artist and our little BB is about to get everything she ever dreamed of.  Hell, now that she’s 18 she doesn’t even need to forge her parents signature to get a marriage license!  GROWTH YALL!
All in all, I love Easton’s real writing.  It’s her story.  It really is and I love how raw and open she is with her readers.  It flows so perfectly and there’s never a dull moment.  We really FEEL her heartache thanks to her phenomenal writing and story telling.  I love watching her character growth, I love her parents.   Can you tell how much I love BB?  I’m on a minor stalking level.  Only minor…..
If you haven’t read 44 Chapters about 4 Men yet, now is your chance because ITS FREE and you can get it HERE
And Ill make sure to update when Star is available to order on April 12th!
Until next time I feel like typing something up, Thanks for reading friends!  If you lasted this entire random post that probably doesn’t make sense than you deserve a taco.  And a Jack & Coke.   So, thanks again, to all the friends who have kicked my ass to get this into gear for YEARS.  Hey, I’m finally doing it, so get off my balls.  BYE FRIENDS!!

4.25 stars

This book explores the idea of whether love is enough. It also touches on the ideas of adoration/infatuation and how that impacts one's own life path. Told from the author's signature quirky and relatable POV, the story is a lighter addition to the series that stands out in its originality.

If you've been following this series, you know BB hasn't always had the best taste in men. Admittedly desperate for attention and affection, she seems to latch on quickly to the men who give her what she craves. But a lot of times, that attention and affection morph into something toxic, i.e. Knight, who can't seem to stay away.

As this is book 3 in the series, we are now on to the third major romance for our narrator, ignoring how we already know how this big story ends, it seems as Hans may be the real deal. BB's forever man.

For the first time in my life, I hadn't gotten off from the sex; I'd gotten off from the connection.

On paper, Hans is everything BB is looking for.
Stunningly handsome.
The life of the party.
Talented musician.
And most importantly, infatuated with her, almost as much as she is with him.

"You're the first star I see. Before anything in the sky, I see you."

Surprisingly, for a musician, he isn't as aggressive as I would have expected. Sure, he's a huge flirt and does everything he can to keep BB's attention, whether it be pulling him to his lap, holding her hand, or cuddling. But the big move takes some time, letting BB's self-doubt creep in. Even though she seems to have no trouble getting the attention of men, our narrator is still plagued by insecurity. And that doesn't improve with becoming the girlfriend of a star on the rise.

While most of book is sweet as the couple fall in love, Knight continues to reappear stirring up trouble. In addition, as Hans' career takes off, BB's confidence takes a nose dive. I loved how her mom gave her some wise advice during her lowest low.

"You have always been the brightest thing in the room, honey, but you dim your light so that your men can shine instead."

Eventually this story leads to the one man BB never saw coming. The true game changer. Looking forward to Suit.

Okay so I took 24hrs to come down from my B.B. high before writing this review because first of all oh. My. God. Her dedication?

“Thank you, Hans. Your love broke the spell...”

Already a f*ckin’ page turner, which I’m not surprised because duh! It’s B.B. Easton and her work is f*ckin’ magic sooo, suck on that! Anyways, to my review before I pass out from egg dye and vinegar...

STAR is the 3rd (well 4th if you count the prequel 44 Chapters About 4 Men...okay maybe it’s really the 4th?), okay 4th installment in the 4 Men series by the ever so f*ckin’ awesome B.B. Easton (I’ll never stop saying that btw), and she introduces us to the dreamy, rock star, prince of swoon, bassist of Phantom Limb, Hans. Insert drooling face.

Now if you are caught up to what B.B. has been through (if you haven’t STOP! Gtfo! Go pick up 44 Chapters About 4 Men OR hell, pick up SKIN, before continuing this review!!!) then we’ve survived her ‘skinhead’ ex Knight, who can’t seem to let B.B. go and her recent pothead ‘arms dealer’ ex Harley, who’s, although apologetic, being arrested as poor B.B. is laying in the hospital bed.

Fast forward; physically she’s healed and well, mentally and emotionally getting there, and that’s when she meets Hans, the rock star who seems to have casted some magical soul mate kinda spell on B.B. and so our love for STAR is born and B.B. gets what she’s deserves after having to deal with two exes that left her battered and bruised, and that’s to feel loved!

It was like the honeymoon phase...until it wasn’t. Insert scrunched face, and glassy eyes. Ugh! I want her to be loved for crying out loud! It wasn’t until part 3 that I realized, wow. Although not her soul mate, Hans opened B.B. up and showed her what she’s worth, maybe not in the way we hoped but in his own rock star way; he wrote a song about her! Duh! Still super cute and swoon worthy but no dice. Our B.B. deserves more damn it! Alas, bitter sweet and perfect because move the f*ck over Hans, motha f*ckin Ken Easton is about to show us how it’s done! Cue badass music that Ken enters the room to.

So in STAR, we see B.B. come into her own person while she’s healing mentally and emotionally. There’s a maturity to her actions now, some sort of acceptance of the situations she’s in. Her talk with her mother opened her eyes to what the real world entails and although she’s an adult now, there more room to grow and that it’s okay to have these feelings and failed relationships as long as B.B. knows her worth and is truly happy.

She’s still B.B.; humor, attitude, punky, raw emotion and all! I feel like I’m on this adventure of self discovery when I read B.B. stories and I don’t want it to stop! But of course, like all amazing things, it’ll come to an end eventually and boy, am I excited (and sad) for this ending because motha f*ckin Ken! Oh did I know mention Ken’s appearance in STAR? Oops! Sorry not sorry, you’ll just have to pick up STAR and find out. Five big a** STARs for another page turner from B.B. Easton. Happy Reading!

5 bad ass rock stars to a book you will not be able to put down. BB Easton has a true gift of writing books that flow so well you cannot put them down.

The frank honesty and humor in which BB Easton tells such a relatable story makes you feel like you are sitting right next to your BFF going down memory lane while reminiscing about misspent youth, bad decisions, and past relationships. You laugh, you cry, you get pissed off, and you ask “what the hell were you thinking?” as only you can ask a BFF. You will experience all the emotions as you go back to that awkward time of wanting to adult on your own but not being old enough to buy alcohol and still needing your parents.

We have all been rooting for BB and what is left of her carved up hemorrhaging heart while hating exboyfriends and sloppy second skanks. Enter Hans. We cheer and swoon as BB matures and finds love that makes her understand her value but we learn the hard way feelings are not everything it takes to make a relationship work…unless one party is willing to sacrifice themself for the sake of the relationship. With BB's maturity, she learns to stop listening to the shattered heart that wants to do whatever it takes to make the hurt stop and listen to the brain. After a bittersweet heart to heart with her truly honest mom and her sage advice to BB, “…sweet and exciting don’t pay the mortgage”, we watch BB let that love go. We watch Knight try to come back in the picture only to prove he has not changed for the better and we are introduced to that Motherfuc** Ken.

Along with BB’s choice in boyfriends, this series gets better and better with each book.
