I enjoyed the book. Talking about all the adventures a person could take at such a young age and learn so many things. I don't think these types of adventures can be done in these days
"Rich man, poor man, beggarman, thief Doctor, lawyer, Indian chief!"
Remember the childhood game we played using that ditty and our jacket buttons? Reading about Manucci in India brougth that to my mind on EVERY page I read. I tired of the memory. I decided to learn speed reading halfway through the book. Manucci settled on the practice of medicine much like I decided to be a speed reader--without a clue as to how to do it! He used a water pipe to give a patient an enema, and it worked! So, if any of you should need an enema,.... This book is a travelogue of Manucci's exploits in India which began when he was a fourteen year old runaway from western Europe. His experiences were too numerous to mention. The book's title says it all.
