One night of carefree fun was all she wanted. That isn’t what she got. She never meant for things to go this far . . . But when Serena wakes up the next morning in an unfamiliar house owned by two handsome strangers, things take an unexpected turn. With only vague, fragmented memories of the night before, she fears the worst. Against her better judgment, she can’t leave this house without speaking to these men and knowing what happened. The men, however, are not what she expected. Damien is sarcastic, kind, flirty, and built like a Greek God, while Alex is arrogant, intimidating, and mercurial. Yet, the two of them are inseparable. In Between
Serena just wanted to get through her last semester of college before she graduated and left everything and everyone behind for the job awaiting her and a new life in California. And it’s all simple to do when you don’t have any serious relationships or friendships with anyone. The last thing she expects is to get close to the two strangers who saved her after her Roommate and her friend abandons her at the bar!

Serena was a relatable FMC we all run from something in our lives and sometimes, some of us run from everything. Serena never having anyone truly care for her, not to mention never having anyone love her, her fear and concern was understandable. And Alex Did. Not. Help. Matters. Him putting all of his history onto Serena was completely unfair. I completely understood his fear and concern giving his past but his instant reaction was to slash out!
I love when the big guy, the protector, the muscle is this hidden teddy bear and that’s exactly who Damien was!! So soft and caring.
I have never wanted to slap so many side characters in one book. Especially Leah!! And I wish there was a moment in the book where Serena confronted her. I wanted to see her give her a piece of her mind that wasn’t in an sarcastic way. For her to have more of a backbone!
Serena, I guess I’m not sure how to say this, but I moved in with Angie. She has an extra room, and she and I just get along better as roommates than you and I do. I know this is probably a dick move, but there’s a couple hundred dollars to help with this month’s rent under your door. Good luck in Cali. —Leah
A note. That’s how Serena found out Leah moved out. Then did over the weekend (when she knew she was away) and proceeded to block her via phone and all forms of social media.
The Cheek, The Nerve, The Gall, The Audacity & The Gumption
Just up and move out, no notice, no warning with 3 months left on the lease and the balls two only leave $300. All because you were upset she said something to you about abandoning her in a bar, where she was almost assaulted that you begged her all week to come to.
Alex’s reaction to finding out about California was WWIII. I mean he instantly chose violence! He wielded those words like weapons. Not only did cut her down once but twice. It was hard to forgive him.
I Would’ve loved get Damien’s and Alex’s perspective but it was not needed to get the full scope and extant of their emotions and feelings. They bleed through the pages. Although they fell in love, this is a beautiful story about Serena finding herself and finding the meaning of “HOME” and I love that!
I enjoyed this quick read!

Found out about this book through reddit and was not dissapointed. The smut was very good and the writing is excellent for a debut novel.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a sweet and short book filled with lots of spice and romance. Loved the sweet Damien and the Grumpy Alex. And who doesn’t love 2 men sharing 1 woman?! Hot hot hot

I really enjoyed In Between the debut novel by Lyla Andrews.
This is a short sweet MFM story involving the relationship between Serena, Alex and Damien.
Serena is a introverted college student who is rescued by Alex and Damien after an incident in a bar.
Alex, the enigmatic broody type, and Damien the outwardly open friendly guy, are long-time friends and house mates.
We discover that they all have their own demons which were explored as the story progressed.
The characters were well rounded and believable, and the storyline flowed. There were a few well written steamy scenes too!

So……I really liked this. I’m surprised that it doesn’t have more and higher ratings. I tend to go in blind so maybe people expect something else? IDK but this was super hot and had more heart than I expected.
I TRY not to give away plot for people who like to go in blind BUT in one of the scenes I found it AWESOME that the good guys are the ones who society would normally be weary of (one tattooed and bulky, one lean and emo) and the bad guy was a clean cut college standard guy that no one would bat an eye at. I’m choosing to see this as a meaningful decision by the author. A lesson can be learned here peeps!!!
For a shorter book, I found that I was really invested in the characters and understood them well. Even when I didn’t agreed with what they did I could understand their motivations. The characters are flawed (some more than most) and I love stories like that. The struggles they have are real and relatable and you care for them very quickly. Or maybe I am just a softy (don’t tell, I’m trying to maintain my hard exterior).
The smexy stuff is super hot and just the right amount. One of my dudes has a smex swing y’all. I was so here for the MFM dynamic and usually I only like MF so well done to the author. Overall this was a win for me. I don’t consider it dark but still see below for more information about content.

a half a pepper book
It was an ok read. Didn’t really draw me in enough nor was it bad enough to stop. It was just alright. The steam was decent but maybe 1-2 peppers max, if that. Did have BDSM elements but very light and mild stuff, even the knife ‘play’ was light. I really wouldn’t classify this as a dark romance.
The character relationships were decent and the characters were alright. Not much staying power though. It was a decent read but not something that really sucks you in and makes you want more. I slogged through it in two days.

it’s ok
I understand this is a first book for the author and I applaud that. It’s not something I could ever do. I had a few issues, timelines were odd, issues popped up and were resolved either oddly or quickly and too easily. I couldn’t really relate to the characters or their relationship. But that’s me, if you’re interested you should give it a go.

Perfect
Perfect mix of plot, spice and heartbreak. I was so invested in this story. And so jealous of Serena. I literally devoured this book in a few hours. And will be recommending it for quite some time.

i didn't like the book not because it was terrible, i just feel that it is slightly superficial and the characters relationship is more on the physical side than emotional.

Good Debut
This is the first book I have read from Lyla Andrews and looks to be the first book she wrote. I look forward to reading more from her. It had a good plot and spice!
