SF Legends: Chun Li was a really fun read. I think it was partly because i really like SF alot... the artist of the book took my interest at firt, his name was Omar Dogan... because of the last name i wondered if he had turkish ancestors, (cause Doğan means falcon in turkish) but i couldn't find much information about him other than he was born in America... I liked his art, it was heavily influanced by manga. The story can be described in the shortest as it was a Hong Kong Cops action adventure. It was before Chun Li ever get in to Street Fighter tournament and become an Interpol agent. She was a freshly out of police academy cop and she just started to involve with Shadoloo organization and its Leader Bison's right hand Sagat. The Story also involved the death of Dan Hibiki's father...(which i couldn't feel sad cause Dan is such a comic relief which can't be taken seriously... even his cry like '' father '' and stuff were so funny... lol ) and they showed how Sagat Lost his eye... Now, this was something i always wondered...this and how did Sagat get that nasty scar which goes on in a line from his lower side of upper body to his sholders. I got the answers for both, yay ! and i liked some supporting charactes like Dorai (Chun's father and chief) and Lin (Chun's best friend and partner) i guess this is all.

Although I love Chun-Li, I sadly did not love this. The art is fine, but the story is pretty lame. Chun-Li somehow ends up playing second fiddle to her policewoman sidekick-friend that was written into the comic? ...Why? Every other character in the story has more personality than Chun-Li even if they only show up on 1 page. How did you make Chun-Li so boring? 😭

A by-the-book 80s action movie plot, but lovingly done and doesn't overstay its welcome.

If you read my first review on the first volume in this series featuring Sakura, then you know how I feel about Capcom's Street Fighter franchise. In the second volume, the girl who is featured is Chun-li. Known as the "First Lady of Capcom" and the "First Lady of Fighters," Chun-li is iconic for her role in fighters as well as famous for her legs... as in her lightning kick and spinning bird kick of course. As a matter of fact, she is so famous that it was a big deal when the animated film gave fan service (she had a shower scene with full butt and boob exposure).
Just like volume one, volume two is an origins story, this time for Chun-li. It details her first years on the police force working to take down Shadowloo. Also, the interaction with her father shows how much he means to her. For those who don't know, Chun-li's father was killed by M. Bison in story cannon so seeing how she is before his death is interesting. Also, reading about Chun-li acting like a "normal girl" is nice too because her ending sequence in the second game shows that is what she aims to be after she defeats M. Bison (even though in cannon now, she is in her forties and still not with Ryu).
In the end, this is another great manga read. I can't really talk much about it because I don't want to give away the story, but I will say this origin story is more serious than Sakura's which does make sense. For the price of the manga book, I think it was worth it.

Nicely-told story of what eventually led up to Chun Li's losses and reasons to enter the Street Fighter tournament. None of the familiar SF characters that appear appear needlessly; they all have a role to play. The action is good and the art is a real treat for the eyes. Recommended for SF fans, especially Chun Li fans.

Great story, amazing art work if you street fighter fan it's a must read. Only con I had was the price tag 35 bucks is way to expensive
