From USA Today Bestselling Author Kelly Fox comes a new kind of mafia romance!

I'm a mob boss. And I'm in love with a virgin. I run a high-end escort service, and Ford is a nervous, perfectly bow-tied, sexily bespectacled money nerd. It doesn't make any sense, this attraction between us. Even as he keeps me at arm's length, he's never left my orbit. We're moth and flame, inexplicably drawn to each other's darkness and light. Hell, I'm becoming a better man because of him. I've joined him for Manhattan's charity gala season, and the more I get to know him, the more I fall for his sharp wit, unique style, and hard-won confidence. I'll be as patient as I need to be to win him over.

The one thing I'm not willing to do, however, is let the man who put the fear in his eyes get away with it. I don't care how powerful or wealthy he is—I will tear down the world to make Ford feel safe enough to love me. Attraction is a Mafia romance that features a new kind of mob boss, a billionaire with exquisite taste, and a found family made entirely of morally gray do-gooders. As with all of my murder swoon romances, there are no cliffhangers, and the HEA is guaranteed.

This story follows a billionaire virgin and the mobster who is patiently waiting for the right time to make his move on him. I liked this dynamic, but overall I couldn’t help but be quite bored with the whole thing. Everything between them is easy and simple with absolutely no conflict at all.
There’s also not much development between them, considering they are both in love with each other since before the book even started and nothing about their relationship really changes along the way. It was all quite monotone.
Thus, despite thinking the idea behind their relationship was cute, I can’t say I was very invested.

Before last night I would’ve died for him, killed for him, anything to keep him safe. Today, I would live for him, change for him, do everything I can to make him feel confident in himself.

I think it is clear to say, especially after giving this series and author a second chance, that I just do not match well with this particular kind of writing. Something is continually missing for me here, and I don't know if it's the lack of depth, uninteresting plotlines or cheesy romance, but I'm definitely just not a fan. Oh well.

No one touches my man and lives to tell the tale.

Sounds pretty mobster, right?

Ah Luca Luca Luca *grinning like an idiot (at the cover and the story).

The mobster boss and the colorful virgin with all their wonderfull #MurderSwoon moments…

♥︎ Luca taking off his gun and holster to slow-dance with Ford in the kitchen
♥︎ Luca faking Ford’s boyfriend to scare off the evil-ex
♥︎ Luca stopping to "taste the goods" of his escort-service months ago

There were a lot more and I was so here for all of it. And god Ford is so precious. But there is a reason Ford is still a virgin despite being 30yrs old. But with care and the chivalry of a gentleman Luca is there to change that. I think this was the most romantic of Kelly Fox’s novels.

But if you now think that Ford is some timid, inexperienced wallflower, you got another thing coming.

I roll my eyes. “I’m a virgin, Mads, not a time traveler from the eighteen hundreds. I do have the internet.”
“Since we’re not assuming,” Rand says, eyeballing Mads, “do you know if you would prefer to top or bottom?”
Fuck. In for a penny, in for a pound, I guess. I bite back a grin and keep my answer dry. “Put it to you this way: after dancing with Luca a few times, I figured out he’s a little shorter than me. I’ve adjusted the height of my shower dildo accordingly.”

These three billionaires!! *shaking my head, laughing

And if ever was something true, yes Kelly Fox teased the hell out of us with Hopper and (t)his RICO agent (like she promised) and hyped us up for the last book in the series. I can’t wait for "Distraction"!!

And one more thing: I loooved seeing Luca and Joe becoming really good friends.

DNF. This book also ruined books 1 and 2 for me, because I could no longer respect those heroes. I LOVED 1, and 2 was fun. This one? Had me up until...

The virgin billionaire hero Ford, who had a very bad previous dating experience, is nervous about dating the escort-service-owning (and trying out his own merchandise—full consent always, of course, bc he's a hero, but...! Yeah. Oof.) mafia don Luca. I actually was into their story, loved the obsession-possession vibe. But then, when things are about to finally get going for Ford and Luca, Ford is...nervous about not having experience. He talks about it with his fellow billionaire friends/the other books' MCs. And what is their GREAT suggestion?

Experiment first with one of Luca's sweet kind escorts! Then you'll have experience and can be with Luca, worry free! (Which, sure. Doing Stuff with some stranger will just make all that inexperience and uncertainty go away! It's not cheating-adjacent at all! And let’s not bother to try communicating with the person we supposedly want to date/get to know better. Terrible thought! Riiiiiight. #sarcasm)

And what does Ford think of this idea?

Oh, what a FABULOUS idea! And he...proceeds to hire an escort from Luca's stellar stable of studs and go through with it.

Well, almost, you know, but not quite, because Luca is in the mix. But he ABSOLUTELY WOULD HAVE gone through with it. 😡🤬🤯😱😱😱🤢🤮

Dude. If you think the man who is bringing you flowers, kissing you sweetly, and dancing with you in your kitchen isn't going to think you experimenting sexually with one of his escorts isn't a betrayal of epic proportions, you are TSTL and I do not in ANY way believe you could possibly be a billionaire.

Yeah, that was a real e-reader hitting the wall moment. Buh BYE.

Luca Stefano is a marshmallow. A deadly one, if you threaten someone he loves.

This was A LOT better than book 2, and almost as good as book 1. It’s one of the pairings I’ve been looking forward to most: Luca, the head of the Stefano family, gentleman gangster who’s ready to go (almost) legal for Ford, the numbers-and-investment genius who’s - you guessed it - a billionaire. Ford is incredibly smart, and loves to dress nicely.

Oh, and he’s a virgin. There’s a reason for that - he’s had a couple of shitty boyfriends who treated him badly after finding out that he’s hesitant to get “frisky” because of a traumatic incident when he’s been in college.

Listen up. I loved Luca. He’s the epitome of a mafia don, looking after his brothers and his employees (he runs an escort service). And killing everyone who’s threatening the ones he loves. He has endless patience with Ford, and even if he tends to cry occasionally, he’s as close to perfect as a mafioso can get. He eats pasta, he kisses his brothers and friends on the cheek. And he’s bent upon seducing Ford.

Ford is… a great guy. He’s not as annoying as Mads from the previous book. And I get it - he’s traumatised. But the way he handled everything sex related was… idk. Inconsistent. A mix between incredibly naive and childish, enthusiastic and slutty (in a good way).

Did I like the book? Yes. Is it my favourite? Not as good as book 1, but I love how this dysfunctional family acts when they’re all together.

What I love even more: the setup for Hopper the slightly manic executioner with a well honed spidey sense. And Liam, the rico agent who keeps popping up and who by the end of this book turns out to be so much more.

I listened to the audio, and while Declan Winters isn’t as exceptional as Blake Lockheart in book 1, he’s still one of the good ones.

And now, finally, I’ll get to listen to Hoppers story 💗

Book safety, tropes and tags down below.

This one was definitely a little more chill than the second book when it came to OTT characters. We’re talking about a mob boss and a billionaire, so of course it’s still pretty crazy, but I enjoy that shit 9 times out of 10. Luca is an adorable mafia boss with a sweet side. I especially enjoyed how he was protective and possessive, but it didn’t feel toxic like those character traits often can. Ford was a great character and I had been looking forward to getting more of his character since he showed up in book 1. A nerdy billionaire with a really sharp fashion sense and a virgin.

It’s been a while since I read some straight up romancing romance. We’ve got dates, galas and slow dancing in the kitchen with gun holsters on the kitchen island, as well as romantic getaways to the italian countryside. Swoon.

«It’s impossible not to touch when we’re in each others presence. It’s disgusting, and I love it.»

They are definitely disgustingly cute together, and I adored how excited and supportive their friends were of their relationship.

The virgin trope can definitely get old after a while with the whole innocent-and-pure thing, but Ford didn’t fall under that at all. He was comfortable with his own sexuality and definitely not non-sexual just because he’s a virgin. This man is a force to be reckoned with in bed, and you bet Kelly Fox brought the heat here as well. Highly enjoyed it.

The books are still way too boring, not really thought-out and not enough mobstery, but this one's a bit better. 2.75

The plot starts developing a bit and it gets interesting, but that's only because of Hopper and the way the story is setting up his book.

🟢 Billionaire / mob boss
🟣 Bisexual / gay
🟡 Definite age gap, but not specified (around 30/35)
🔵 Size difference (mob boss is shorter, top)
🟠 Some plot development
🌶️ Smut good for about 2-3 scenes; virgin; rimming, oral, dildo, shower pressure, penetrative; t/b

Luca was a very soft mobster/top and it would've worked from the start if he were a bit more defined as a character, but about half way in him and Ford do get together and create this sweet, romantic love story. It's more romantic and digestible than the rest so far.

It doesn't start out promising at all, considering Luca has an escort service and is trying out every new man or woman that comes to work for him and that's like public knowledge. I have no issues with that, but to then paint Luca as this guy who'll suddenly stop fucking everything that's available for him only because of Ford was a bit ridiculous.

“Do you know why I sleep with all my escorts? Or why I had been sleeping with all my escorts up until a few months ago?”
His head snaps up. “You’re really not sleeping with your escorts anymore?”
I shake my head. “Casual sex is fine, but once my heart belongs to somebody, my body shuts down.”

Yeah, you literally need a 22 year old virgin to believe all that. No sane, sexually active person would buy it. But for the sake of the story, fine. Let's go with that.

Their dialogues are still way too OTT and just take away all the good the story could've been

"The safest I have ever felt is with you, a Mafia don."

"Before having him in my bed, it was my inner mobster who wanted to be responsible for all his orgasms."

“Look, I know you’re a mobster. But I am a billionaire. With a B,” he reminds me. “I can pay for both quality and speed.”

""Capice?" I ask, letting the mobster in me out."

😄😄

(Also, it's not "capice", but "capisci" -- but common in Italian is "hai capito"; American Italians use something completely different though)

The author just kept bringing up the mobster and the billionaire aspect of the story and it wasn't working. On one hand these guys were taking care of retirement plans for tons of workers they had -- just this delusional scenario all around, but on the other hand they were hopping on private planes to Italy.
It's just confusing and goes against what the author was trying to do here.

A book doesn't become a mafia book if you say "mobster" about 50 times, put a gun in there and the only thing these guys say that make them seem like mobsters is "You feel me?" I mean 😄😄 fucking ridiculous.

Hopper saves the day, at least for me. He's a carbon copy of Anders, btw.

So freaking cringey 😬. I can’t believe I rated another book of this series 4 star, not if it was anything like this one. I love sweet but it was just corny and it felt insincere. It read like a bad fanfic to be honest. This read left me kind of annoyed 😅.

I've enjoyed the Mobsters + Billionaires series, but of the books so far, I think Attraction is my favorite. Maybe because Luca and Ford's attraction has been teased in the previous two books, so I feel like I know them already, but whatever it is, I love it.

Luca's a new traditionalist mobster, meaning he looks and dresses the part of old-school charm - think checkered tablecloth, red sauce, suits and spats - but prefers to focus on activities that are closer to legal. Ford's a 30-year-old virgin, but don't let that fool you. He's as deeply sensual and sexual as Luca is, just without experience with a partner because of things that happened to him in the past.
As I read, I had a mental playlist going that included songs like I've Got You Under My Skin, Mack the Knife, and Fever. Kelly brings both her usual snark and heat, and makes these characters totally loveable. I cannot WAIT for Luca's brother Hopper's book!

You could read this as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading them all in order.

Luca and Ford’s book. 3 in the series.

This series isn’t my cup of tea to be honest. I either find the book really boring, as was the case of Luca and Ford or I find it too political.

I just didn’t enjoy this book at all and I had to force myself to finish it. With Luca being a don, I expected him to be more dominant.

Yeah yeah, I get that the point was, Ford had past trauma so Luca had to be soft with him but damn there could have been SOME drama here.

Unapologetically honest

All. The. Feels. I flove this series and these men. I love how they turn the world on its head and make it their own. I love how hard and fast they love. Most of all, I love how they are unapologetically themselves, but I hope Hopper never masters boundaries.

Ford and Luca are beautiful, real, and full of surprises. Scorchingly sweet surprises. “Before last night I would’ve died for him, killed for him, anything to keep him safe. Today, I would live for him, change for him, do everything I can to make him feel confident in himself.” Like I said, all the feels, and simply enchanting. I adore how different Luca and Ford are, and how they perfectly complement. I fell in love with Ford’s courage, Luca’s conviction, and their utter devotion. But, it never hurts when Luca looks like a mobster, nor will I ever eschew the depths he’ll go to keep the ones he loves safe. A fan-freaking-tastic addition to an already amazing series. I absolutely cannot hold in my excitement for what’s to come. All Hopper, all the time.

Luca is a toasted marshmallow mobster, and no one will ever convince me otherwise. I mean, he's a mafia don, so obviously he's tough and murdery when he needs to be. But he is soft and sticky sweet when it comes to Ford and I LOVE IT.

As with most of Kelly's books, I love how her characters are never quite what they seem from the outside. Luca is much more than just a mobster. And Ford is so much more than just a virgin with exceptional fashion sense. They are deep, compelling characters, and getting to know them and their motivations through this book was a wonderful experience.

Luca and Ford's story brought me back to how Kelly wrote the Wrecked series, but especially Surrender. There was a lot of affection, and a lot of healing, and a lot of romance that just brought these two men closer together than I think even they expected. And what I love maybe most about Kelly's books - there's no mid-point miscommunication and breakup. Luca and Ford get together, stay together, and nothing will change that for them.

It's no secret by now that I love Kelly's books, but I think this series is her best writing yet. There's a little bit of something for everyone - dark humor, morally gray do-gooders, a little bit of action, a whole lot of steam, and always always the sweetest happily ever afters.

I loved this one so much . Luca and Ford were just *chef's kiss* slow burn, sexual tension that pays off deliciously, Luca's trauma from a past attempted sexual assault is heartbreaking and the way Ford cherishes him is beautiful.

Favorite Qoutes:

Before last night I would’ve died for him, killed for him, anything to keep him safe. Today, I would live for him, change for him, do everything I can to make him feel confident in himself.

He’s meant to be treasured, and I was born to treasure him.

Attraction was the perfect combination of murder and swoon!

I loved Luca and Ford together and I felt like their story delivered everything I could have wanted from their building attraction in the earlier books. Despite their mutual attraction it was a slow burn romance, but I never felt like it was too dragged out. Ford needed time and I love that Luca gave it to him.

It was a well written and captivating story, and I really enjoyed seeing Ford and Luca finally acting on their feelings for each other. Great plot with some building suspense, and I loved the plot twist - didn’t see that one coming at all! Another great addition to the series - Luca and Ford is definitely my favourite couple so far!

Now, that's the Kelly Fox I remembered from "Extradition".
This third book was truly fantastic, light-hearted and steamy, and deeply romantic, but it still had a touch of angst and heartache that made it even more special.

After the disappointment that was the second book, I'm happy to say that "Attraction" surpassed my expectations, BY FAR: I'm so happy with how this one turned out.

Luca and Ford's love story was special. Although Rand and Joe will probably always be my favourite (their dynamic is precisely my cup of tea 🔥), I loved these two to absolute bits.
Luca was the epitome of a dreamboat: he's murderous and ruthless, but also super protective and gentle and charming, and yeah, I have an enormous crush on him.
Ford was equally fantastic: he's been through so much pain and trauma, and I really appreciated how upbeat and strong he still managed to be. And how, regardless of his insecurities about his virginity and his lack of confidence in good men willing to wait for him, he still knew what he wanted and he still managed to stand up for himself. I loved Luca and Ford together so much!

I also appreciated how this third book is less focused on the action, and more on the relationship. Mads and Anthony's story lacked that, I think: it was so action (and character) packed, that their dynamic just felt off, weak and under-developed. Luca and Ford's, on the other hand, was perfect: they have time to explore and test each other, and the action and the side characters didn't steal their thunder at all.

I'm beyond excited for Hopper and Liam's story: I'm so curious about them because I can't, for the life of me, predict anything about their dynamic and how their relationship will look like. I can't wait.

3.5 stars. I’ve been waiting for this book! I think this was my most anticipated of the series (though I’m very intrigued for Hopper and Liam now).

Mobster meet virgin billionaire. Luca is head of the Stefano crime family. Though, he’s trying to go straight-ish. He’s loyal, protective and ruthless but also makes themed cocktails for poker night and has a dark librarian aesthetic. Ford is a nerdy billionaire who has a history with SA, which has led to a healthy dose of caution when it comes to sex. With a history of men who made him feel like a burden, Ford battles his insecurities with Luca who stands true through it all. I love their openness and communication. I also love that Ford is confident in his sexuality and just because he hasn’t had sex with anyone else doesn’t mean he isn’t sexual (hello shower dildo). They’re fun and sweet and so very loyal.

While I was excited for this book, it does seem to have similar characters and development to the others. In some ways, they start to blend together. I’m excited for Hopper’s pov because he’s be characterized as a bit all over the place, obsessive and a bit crazy. It’ll be interesting to be in his head!

The Mafia Don finally gets his love story and it does not disappoint. Luca is the mob boss who wants to do better than his family members in the past. Although he's dangerous and knows how to run a mob family, with Manhattan as his territory, now that he's the boss, he is gradually divesting illegal activities and turning his attention to helping the community while rooting out mob-related crime. Ford is a billionaire, part of his friend group, and someone who he's been highly attracted to for a long time. Ford has flamboyant style, is a financial self-made wizard, who is charmingly shy with a thing for bad boys. When it comes out that Ford is a virgin, Luca knows that he will need to be patient and not push. Can this love come together when danger lurks and the two men seem like such opposites? This is a well-written, exciting romance with just the right touch of danger, lots of passion, and a true love.

I was soooo waiting for Ford and Luca’s book and it did not disappoint. You got teasers from the other two books in the series about how they were attracted to each other. The heat when it finally did happen was off the charts. There is action I. This book, because hello bad guys, but it did end up with a happy ever after for them. We also get glimpses of Hopper and Liam and that will also be epic. Love it and recommend.

I received a copy of this book for my review.

Another very sweet entry to this series. This had one of my least favorite tropes (virgin mc), but it was handled beautifully because he was anything but sexually naive which made it perfect. Mob boss with a huge heart Luca is a huge gentleman and billionaire Ford a sweetheart. Just feel good daydream fun.

How did MC go from sex trauma won’t go beyond kissing to doing every type of sex act within 36 hours, saying the top’s “cock is the miracle” and “I am so going to love being a slut for you”?

This is not the hurt comfort taking it slow it was presented as, MC’s entire personality changed the second the author started writing the first of many consecutive steamy scenes. Very frustrating.

Mainly stuck with this one for the Hopper & Hughes moments
----
January 2024. I mostly read this 4 book gay romance series when I was home sick at the start of the year because it was an easy read I could pick up and put down. I gave books 1+4 3 stars, and books 2+3 2 stars.
I was pretty meh on this, mostly because it barely fits the “Billionaires + Mobsters” premise and is far lower angst and lower action than any of the premises would have you believe.
The mobsters are either not actually mobsters but the illegitimate child of someone associated with the mafia, or heir to mafiadom and actively trying to become Good Organized Crime or get out of It entirely. (Book 3 is a mafia boss who has gotten out of the drug trade and wants to just run an ethical sex worker escort service).
Even characters who are presented as enemies to lovers are in love with each other very quickly. Like from gunpoint to couple’s night 15% later. Books 2 and 3 which don’t have enemies to lovers seem to be extra heavy on steamy scenes and have less character or relationship development.
Everyone is noble, except for an unquestioning willingness for the “mobster” love interest in each book to murder as many people as needed to keep the billionaire love interest safe, with varying levels of enjoyment.
Sometimes they take out entire local rival organizations or overseas Human trafficking.
The billionaires use their funds for good causes relating to employment law, retirement accounts, and international sex trafficking.
I’m sure fans of the author’s other works will enjoy these and know they are getting low angst stories that avoid the exciting or problematic elements of the tropes presented, but it’s not what I look for in enemies to lovers or crime-related romances.
