Jeb Corliss is one of the most iconic BASE jumpers and wingsuit pilots of our time, and his autobiography is an odyssey into madness. Corliss breaks and rebuilds himself time and again, learning what only pain and daring can teach. The tales he brings back offer insight into the darkness that exists within the mind as well as his own unique way of coping. Many grapple with mental illness in one way or another, and Corliss gives a glaringly honest view of his struggle while traversing the world’s most dangerous sports.
so good. a very intense read. cried so much at the end. a lot of good life lessons and just ways to look at life. was also fascinating to read from someone who doesn't smoke or drink or do drugs. it is so rare.
I did also notice a pattern or every time he did something someone else suggested at the last minute those were the times he got hurt. when he kept his boundaries high and focused on what he had practiced he was usually safe.
that was all so unbelievable I'm so glad there are videos of everything because you get the whole story two ways.
