Lyons and Foxes and Bears

Rate this book
Dermot Meagher’s new novel, Lyons and Foxes and Bears, continues the adventures of Judge Joe Lyons when he tumbles into Boston Harbor while waiting for the Provincetown ferry. His phone is momentarily lost, and someone has copied Joe’s private photos of himself and his handsome husband, Angelo Bruno, and sends them piecemeal to Joe and Angelo with increasingly threatening remarks. They could be very dangerous to Angelo, who is a grade school teacher in a Boston suburb. Joe is retired, so they are less vulnerable to him, but de minimis they would be embarrassing to him, the first openly gay judge in Massachusetts. Who’s sending them and why? Knowing they can’t escape the ubiquity of their phones, Joe and Angelo travel through New England and to Rome with new adventures and flashbacks along the way.
