Mel Bay's Modern Guitar Method Grade 2

Rate this book
Grade 2 explores more complex rhythms in carefully graded solo and duet settings with parallel lessons in music theory- just enough to keep students up to speed in terms of what they are expected to play. The book begins with a review of playing in the key of C major but soon goes to F major/D minor followed by D major/B minor. Written in standard notation only. A companion double CD set is available for this book.

A bit dry at times, but this book will improve your sight reading tremendously and also help take your technique into the intermediate level. Really ups the challenge from book one. I'd recommend supplementing with some popular songs that you want to learn to keep things fresh.
