One Step Closer
“You better think twice before you spread anything about me ever again.”
Angela rushes to the courthouse with the recording of David admitting to being part of the young boy's death. As she approached the courthouse and filed the case, the word spread to David immediately.
However, David's secrets and the whole story remained locked within his chest. He carried the pain and refused to fight back. A new character is introduced, the only person David truly trusts, May. May refuses to let David give up, and so she finds herself at Angela's doorstep.
Upon learning what David is being sued for, she begs Angela to hear the whole story. Angela finds herself at the same pizza place she began to fall for David at, and as he meets her there, his secrets spill out.
She gets to witness a new side of David, and she realizes that she was judging him too soon. Before the whole story can leave his mouth, Angela learns the news that Toby has been taken.
Angela, David, and David's trusted friend and training partner rush to Toby's apartment; with his absence, panic begins to spread between them. Back at David's penthouse, Angela watches as he breaks down and drinks, and she carries him back to the room, and he opens up about his fear of losing her forever.
The book ends in tragedy and a cliffhanger waiting to be revealed. Angela gets sabotaged on a mission to save Toby. With a gun in her hand, she pulls the trigger, not knowing who it was pointed towards as her own past mistakes mislead her.

This is the second book in the tempted series and everything ramps up a notch. Angela rushes to judgement and goes to the courthouse with the recording of David's admission. The drama increases for Angela, David and Toby when Toby is taken. May comes into the picture and urges Angela to wait for the whole picture. What happens when Angela shoots the gun? A tragedy and a major cliffhanger. This book is fast paced, overflowing with drama and suspense filled. A page turner that I read as a free advance copy via the author and voluntarily chose to review.

The second book is even better. My heart was racing. And then things changed with a big twist. "No way, I'm not sitting here and doing nothing. If you're going to war, you must count me in. I'm a lawyer, for God's sake; fighting is a part of my profession." "I wish it were that easy, I really do. But for now, this is my war to fight, and I need to keep you safe. I cannot lose you, Angela. I just can't."
David was only half listening to May. She was saying that "Jules and his people have been taking a lot, the word is spreading across the streets, and maybe it's time you deal with it?" Yeah, David would take care of it his way.
Angela is determined to take down David. She is on her way to the courthouse. She didn't know if this was the right move, but she knew she couldn't leave Toby all alone. Her heart was practically beating out of her chest; she still had not fully processed what was going on or what had happened.

In this the 2nd book of the Tempted Series. We find that maybe we should not rush to judgement when May, David's little sister (in foster care together) goes to visit Angela to ask her to give David a chance to explain what is going on. The drama increases for Angela, David and Toby when Toby is taken. May comes into the picture and urges Angela to wait for the whole picture. What happens when Angela shoots the gun? I am definitely waiting for this to come to a conclusion, but I will continue to read each book until I find out the conclusion of this story.

Angela, David and Toby are thrown into more drama and chaos. As they are trying to save Toby everything explodes around them as gunfire starts. Nothing is what Angela was expecting. Will they get out safely? What will happen next between David and Angela? Where is Toby?
This installment leaves you guessing even more than the first one did. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Well first of the bat.... Wow. The action is so intense it was hard to put the book down. With the cliffhanger ending I need to know what happened and who Angela shot in her huge state of confusion. Can't recommend Catherine Tramell's books enough and this one is an excellent edition to her huge list of accomplishments.

David and Angela are trying to rescue Toby. When they get to where they believe he is, they are in a gun fight. Angela was handed a gun and fires a shot. What she sees makes her world go black. A thrilling ride and a cliff hanger. Waiting for the next chapter in this series.

Part 2 of this series is fast paced and exciting. Angela the lawyer is in a moral dilemma. She has feelings for David, but believes him to be a murderer. Toby is taken! David says he will help find him. Gunfire!! Cliffy.

This is the second book in the series and its more interesting than the first book. Fast paced, wonderful characters and a page turner, keeps you at the edge of your seat. Though short, it's enjoyable. I received an ARC for my honest voluntary review.

The second book is a continuation from the first book. Fast paced and to the point, we get to learn who the players are and the stakes are now much higher than anticipated. I loved every minute of it.

I am really confused. Angela is an attorney, and mixed up in a Mafia war. Very little character development, plot line disjointed. Only a short story, cliffhanger, next "installment" to be continued. Sorry not my kind of reading.

For me this book was just so so About the time I started getting into it..... It ended Entirely to short for a purchase and my pet peeve is it was continued !! I went ahead and got book 3 ...but only read 15% and gave up. Not for me

Really enjoyed this easy read book. Found out who the players were and as it was starting to straighten out it finished. So waiting with baited breath to read the next book in the series.

Everything takes off with action, chaos and twists. Toby is in danger and David agrees to help try to save him. Kept me on edge and definitely waiting for more.

Loving this series so far. This was book two. It’s an intensely, intriguing read with twists. I got a copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my review.

Well.... Things are not always like they seem.... In the second book of The Mistery Thriller there are few twists and turns, and I can't wait to solve the puzzle!
Honestly, the book need a bit of editing, I received an ARC copy and hopefully the final version will be fixed, but all considered, it's an enjoyable reading.
