A Valkyrie with Haphazard Magic A Fallen Angel Seeking Redemption An Unlikely Crime-Solving Duo When Kara agreed to go to the Valentine's Day parade with Zane, she didn't think they'd end the night solving a crime--but that's exactly what happened. When a local witch is found dead on the Ferris wheel, the two detectives spring into action. With the list of suspects piling high, Kara and Zane scramble to gather clues and solve the case. Between coming to grips with the fact her biological father may be an evil witch, figuring out what to do with her deepening feelings for Zane, honing her magical abilities, attending a Margarita Memorial, and discovering who wanted the body on Doc Treestone's slab dead...Kara's fighting for sanity. Good thing she has plenty of heart-shaped chocolates and peanut butter whiskey to keep her company. But just when the two detectives think they have everything figured out, a curveball they didn't see coming takes them out at the knees. Can Kara figure out what's really going on? Or will this Valentine's Day be her last?

Another entertaining and intriguing addition in Ms. St. James' Kara Hilder cozy paranormal mystery series. I am really enjoying getting to know these characters and this new paranormal community.
Kara and Zane are the perfect crime solving team and they are slowly becoming the perfect romantic couple as well. And while Valentine’s Day should be for romance, this duo is dragged into solving a murder. Love this series and this book, like all the others, was so good I couldn’t stop reading. The cliffhanger ending has me anxious to get the next book now. The ongoing mystery of Kara’s dad and the big mystery around her mom really have me hooked. All of the characters are so wonderful and new character, Loddie was hilarious. Great twists on the mysteries. The characters & overall story for the series are really developing well. I'm totally hooked.
The third book in this series, bring Kara and Zane face to face with the murder of a mean girl- which means there is no shortage of suspects!
It’s a fast read, with sassy Savage getting some pretty good screen time, and Shenanigans from the pixies nearby. There are some small developments as far as Kara’s mystery father and her romance with Zane are concerned. Very small. But it’s still an enjoyable, fun, cosy paranormal mystery in the series. The brevity of the book, makes it perfect for when you need a lighthearted pick-me-up and are strapped for time; a great option for beach reading paranormal mystery fans!
I'll never look at Valentine's Day the same again. While Kilda gets talked into being Zane's faux date to keep the hordes of amorous single ladies away, mean girl Vanessa takes her shot right in front of Kilda. Having left one man at the altar, dating said man's best friend and bankrupting a 3rd man, no one is surprised she's found dead stop the Ferris Wheel after eating cyanide laced chocolate almonds. Chocolates are her jilted finder's specialty. But there are plenty of others with murderous grudges. Love is definitely not in the air.
This is shaping up to be a gem of a series in the PAC genre. Just enough angst, humour and family.
Valentine's Day, the most romantic day of the year and Kara has agreed to be Zane's date to protect him from all the single women who pursue him including the ones who flirt with him when she's right beside him. One of the decides to ride the Ferris Wheel after she can't persuade Zane to ride with her and when the ride is over, she's dead and there are plenty of suspects. There are so many twists and turns in Zane and Kara's search for the murderer and then there's another death and just when you think you have all the answers the plot changes again and the murderer isn't revealed until the very end and the ending was a complete shock. Great read, really good story.
With the Valentine's Day Festival approaching, Zane asks Kara to be his date. He always rides on a float. Zane invited her to avoid the advances of the single ladies wanting to date him and because he truly enjoys her company. While riding the ferris wheel a witch, Harper, is found dead.
When Zane and Kara investigate with Rota and Link, there are way too many suspects to narrow it down to just one. Harper was that hated.
It’s an easy read series. I have to question why she finds out she’s a Valkyrie and has a grandmother Rota. Yet for three ongoing volumes, Rota is just an afterthought. Wouldn’t that be more communication, more dialogue, more information about the Valkyrie, in general, with her grandmother. And I don’t think it’s as good as her other series. But I’ll still finish the series and keep reading them. I do recommend them.
A quick read, but everyone seemed to have a death wish for Vanessa and Petra, so Zane and Kara seemed to investigate most everyone in town. Eventually Vinnie seemed most likely to do in Vanessa, but I won't blab about who got Petra. Kara's dad was being revealed at the end, but I can't wait for Book 4!
I usually like books that having every item neatly tied up in the end. But there are still mysteries in Kara’s story and new characters being introduced. Which means I am in for the long haul. Thank you Jenna St James for a series that keeps the reader wanting more.
well, our new to paranormal girl Kara had an adventure mingled with Valentines day and murder. Perfect combo,, huh? Well, Ms Jenna spins a tale with unexpected twists and turns, creating a real page turner. It seems to be a true talent for our author!
This series is so good! I love that the main character is a bit older and is a strong woman! I also love the plot, which is very well done and will keep you reading to the end! I can't wait for the next book!
Book 3 still has Kara trying to find out who her father is. There are two murders and not sure who the killer is. There is humor, mystery, a little danger, magic, and loads of quirky characters. Highly entertaining.
I've read most of Jenna St. James' books and this series is my favorite yet. This is the perfect combination of great characters with an interesting setting and creative paranormal mysteries. I'm excited to see what's next for Kara.
Kara and Zane have a murder to solve and all the women in town to fool so zane isn’t hot on all night long. But during the festivities someone gets killed on the ferris wheel
I don't know how I missed that this was delivered to my Kindle. I read book 4 and some things didn't make sense, they do now. This book in the series was outstanding! Twists and turns I hadn't seen coming as usual with Jenna's books.
This book just adds another deeper layer to the series as a whole. The relationships that Kara is building, and she learns about herself and her past. Plus investigating things with Zane. I love how twisted and the many turns this book has.
A woman is killed by poisoned chocolate covered almonds at the Valentine's Day festival. The characters are interesting and there are many suspects to sort through.
The author is fantastic at the twists and turns and immersing the reader into the story of who did it. Th under tow of the character back stories keeps the reader hanging to move to the next book to continue the story in the characters lives.
I love this series. All the characters , the magical place they live. And just like the real world there are problems and violence. Don't miss this series.
Money, investments gone bad, run away bride, chocolate and wine. Good combination. The characters are great. The storyline moves right along. The bad guy spill all
This is an exciting book filled with great characters, a very interesting story, it’s fun, plot, and enough, excitement, and interest to keep you interested.
Totally enjoyed it! This is a well written and has well developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
