"If you are ready to enter the Brave New Art World of NFTs then the most recent book by bestseller author Magnus Resch and Web3 expert Tam Gryn ''How to Create and sell NFTs - A Guide for all Artists" is a MUST! Authors explain - step by step - all you need to know about NFTs : what they are and how they function. Beside purely "technical" guidelines authors deal with challenges, opportunities and risks of this new form of communication via Web3, and of creating and selling versatile digital products, including digital ( and also physical / tangible) art. But this book is much more than a "simple" guide for artists, collectors and all other participants of digital space. Besides having highly pragmatic value, explaining the meaning of the whole set of terms describing new phenomena in the context of blockchain technology and metaverse, Magnus does touch the question of what are /or might be/ the social, cultural, economical and - last but not least - political implications of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies and metaverse /cyberspace/ . Describing and explaining how blockchain technology is functioning with all digital participants, Magnus is speaking of "digital movement" . But introduction of a technology which has such a crucial impact on basic structures of all levels of society, creating new cultural paradigms and values can actually be considered a revolution - digital revolution - with all its consequences, chances and risks. "
This book is an interesting overview of the NFT phenomenon. The book functions both as a comprehensive analysis and a useful guide on how to get, as an artist, into the NFT world. It explores the most important concepts related to NFT while engaging the reader in an accurate process of understanding its most controversial aspects: key figures, financial highlights, energy consumption, etc. We do not know if NFTs are here to stay, but, as far as this book states, it is likely they will.
Before reading the book I hadn't given much thought to the NFT and the hype around it. After reading it I found myself reflecting on what it means to be an artist today and involved in a system of rules, operating around traditional art practices. The book gives detailed practical information, raising important questions about the art market, giving a chance to the reader to enter into a new dimension of possibilities, which is liberating.
This book is such a great introduction to the topic NFT/Web03. The best is it gives one the opportunity to build on and start off with more confidence and assurance to avoid unexpected hickups.
A thoroughly written introduction to NFTs. Clear data, explanations and promising features and pitfalls. A write up of all the groups that are involved with NFTs. I recommend this book highly.
