Carter Livingstone couldn’t believe his luck! His childhood dream of space travel and high adventure finally came true when his family unexpectedly won the county lottery. A last-second seating change onboard the civilian passenger shuttle placed him beside an intriguing elderly man who tasked him with an incredible quest, but disaster struck before he could ask questions. The Intergalactic Governing Authority (IGA) springs a trap hoping to capture the nefarious space pirate and leader of the resistance, Captain Kidd, but things don’t go as planned, and the results are horrific.

Orphaned and the only surviving witness to the IGA’s botched mission, and subsequent cover-up, Carter is embroiled in a world he doesn’t understand. To the IGA, Carter is a loose end that needs to be tied up. The Pirates want him to assume the mantle of a legendary Pirate and become an outlaw. No one is certain why the mystical Splinters are involved. He’ll soon realize that the true battle is the one for himself and his unknown legacy, and that battle has just begun.
