This book was wonderful! I didn’t want to set it down once I started reading it. It was a beautiful combination of tropes, including marriage of convenience, friends to more, and second chance at love. I liked the way the author allowed the reader a peek into the minds of these two main characters, Fern and Nick, as they faced not only their present circumstances as husband and wife in name only, but also their close friendship growing up. Could these two ever hope for more?

I thought the author did a great job of creating two characters who recognized their feelings for their spouse, tried to be open and honest in their communications, but also had doubts and fears of failing to uphold their promises to Nick’s late wife. Fern and Nick were so very real. I liked that they treated each other with care and respect from the very beginning.

I loved this story from start to finish and really enjoyed being introduced to the community of Amish living in Promise, Virginia. I look forward to reading more books set in this town.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Two friends make a promise they intend to keep-each for different reasons. Can they withstand the trials that are thrown their way? Will faith and hope be enough to overcome the struggles in their marriage of convenience?

I enjoy Amy’s way of writing as it always draws the reader in from page one. Such an inspiring, clean, and sweet romance that will touch your heart strings.

I loved this story. When two people are set in there ways and neither one wants to admit that they love each other and conflict creates problems. God has plans for both of them and family is there to insure that it does. I could not put this book down.
I was given an advance copy to read and review and I am under no obligations to give a positive review.

Heart Warming

A marriage of convenience story is always one that I enjoy, and The Amish Nanny's Promise is no exception.

In the case of Fern Beiler and Nick Weaver, they came into the marriage not as strangers, but as two people with a deep history between them. Also between them was a promise that each had made to Charity, Nick's wife, before her passing. While the promise brought them together, it also brought some difficulties. Following Fern and Nick as they navigated through their new relationship had me captivated and turning pages to see how it would all play out. The result is a tender and heart warming story that I highly recommend.

Book Quotes:
"There's not much holding those little peas to their shell, but sometimes they still need a push to let loose." ..."Same as people can be. Stuck. Not much keeping 'em from where Gott wants them to go, yet they need a little push in the right direction. They get all comfortable where they're at and see no reason to change."
..."Course, Gott ain't gonna eat us, like we're going to do those peas. ...He won't lose us,...And Gott's got plans for us. You have to know when it's time to let go and trust Him to catch you."

"If you were made of glass, perhaps you'd see things more clearly."

Before she died, Charity Weaver asked her husband Nick and her cousin Fern to never let her young children forget her, and that's what they've tried to do. But what if these efforts lead to circumstances that appear unacceptable in their Amish community? How are they supposed to honor Charity's last wishes and still remain in Promise, Virginia?

The Amish Nanny's Promise is an emotionally charged attention keeper! I hoped that Fern Beiler would finally have her own family and I hated that her self-worth was affected by the physical scar that she desperately tried to conceal. Nick Weaver's desire to honor Charity and still protect Fern's reputation made me respect him even more. Author Amy Grochowski shares a poignant story of grief, longing, and pure unselfishness that's buffered with hope, faith, and second chances. I recommend The Amish Nanny's Promise to all who enjoy Amish fiction and clean romance.

I received a copy of this book from the author. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.

I’m a fan of author Amy Grochowski’s writing and I really enjoyed this story. Well developed true to life characters made this so enjoyable. I would really like to meet Fern and Nick. Yet sometimes I wanted to shake them. The sign of a good story, right? It made me respond. There were aslo some irritating relatives in this story. They should have been dealt with immediately.

A marriage of convenience, two lifelong friends put everything aside for the children. And to keep a woman’s memory alive. But do they really need to? Can they have a chance at a marriage with love?

If you like an Amish story with clean romance then I recommend this book. Personally, I hope we travel back to Promise, Virginia again.

I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.

Fern plans to keep her promise to her deceased cousin, Charity, and care for Charity’s children, whom she loves, and to keep Charity’s memory alive for them, no matter what it takes. Because of a past accident Fern believes no man could ever care for her. Throw in a pushy grandmother and a conniving uncle, and you have the makings of a troubled tale with plenty of tension and heart-touching moments. The compelling story is one you won’t soon forget. It also highlights how open and honest communication would help avoid problems. This novel had elements that made it seem fresh and inviting, not just another Amish book with a similar storyline. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.

Promises to keep and second chances.

In The Amish Nanny's Promise, Fern’s love for the children and trying to keep the memory of their mom, her best friend, alive for them was a promise she vowed to keep. Miscommunication, insecurities, and doubts, along with family dynamics weaved throughout this story kept it very relatable. Second chances and well-meaning but pushy people give love the opportunity to bloom. I loved the characters, including Nick’s humor that was injected in at times. Their faith in God that was sprinkled throughout the story, added just the right amount of devotion.

This kept my attention all the way through and finding this new to me author was a treat. I would recommend this heartwarming summer read!

The Amish Nanny's Promise is a touching, heart warming story. Fern Beiler becomes nanny to her deceased cousins children, promising she would keep Charity's memory alive. But how can she keep that promise when the children barely remember their mother? Determined to do whatever it takes, Fern works alongside the children's
father, Nick, to raise them. When the Amish grapevine takes over, about how inappropriate it is, for a young, unmarried woman to spend so much time with Nick & the children, she's suddenly faced with the possibility of a forced marriage.

As the story unfolds, Fern matures & grows into the woman she's meant to be, but can she enter into a loveless marriage, even for the children? A beautiful story of love, grace & finding yourself, with many twists, turns & unexpected surprises along the way, I'd highly recommend this wonderful book. Ms. Growchowski is a wondeful writer & you cant go wrong with any of her books!

The Amish Nanny's Promise by Amy Grochowski is definitely a book you will want to pick up. I have not read Amy's books before. I must say I really enjoyed reading about Fern and Nick and their families. The stubbornness of the two of them kept their relationship interesting to say the least. Their shared grief was a big stumbling block to overcome. Adding in equally stubborn relatives to the mix voicing their own opinions in solving Fern and Nick's relationship makes for quite the journey.

I really did not want to stop reading until I knew the outcome of Fern and Nick's relationship and where they would end up living. I also enjoyed reading about the children in the story and their reactions throughout the book.

I am grateful that I received an advance copy in exchange for my honest opinion of the book. Amish stories have been very rewarding to read and this one does not disappoint. I think you will enjoy it as well.

Once again Amy Grochowski has transported me to Amish life and I loved every minute of it. Although this book is quite short don't let it fool you it has everything you need in small package. You cannot go wrong with a marriage of convenience, friends to more and second chance at love trope. Yep, she has beautifully combined all three into one and it was amazing! You read the story from both main characters but it is not chopped up like some stories can be rather it flows so easily as you get a peek into their thoughts for each other.

Fern and Nick were such great characters. I really liked how they maneuvered to make sure the kids always came first and that their memory of their mother was not lost. Their relationship developed very realistic throughout the story which is always good. They both had some things to workout for themselves and with God so it was neat to see that growth throughout the story.

One of the things I have loved about this author is how her faith threads are so solid. It was present from beginning to end. I have read all of Amy's books and loved all of them. I cannot wait to read more from her especially from this town of Promise. I would love to see a story on Fern's brother!!

If you enjoy Amish stories with romance and a strong faith element then I definitely recommend you pick this one up and all of her other books!

I received a copy of this book for review. I was not required to post a positive review. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

The Amish Nanny’s Promise by Amy Grochowski was a very well-written book that focused on two people who were committed to keeping their promise to a special person in both of their lives. Nick loved his late wife dearly and would do anything he could to keep her memory alive for their two young children. Fern missed her cousin and friend and would do anything to keep the promise she made to her before she died. Can these two figure out that there may be more than one way to keep their promises. I hope I haven’t given away too much. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more books by Amy Grochowski.

This is a good book about a widower and his children. His name is Nick and his late wife Charity's cousin takes over as Nanny for the children and she and Nick are trying to keep her memory alive. Anyway some years have passed since Charity's death and the Bishop and their families want to see Nick and Fern married to each other. So the story is a marriage of convenience story. I really enjoyed this story. Fern did seem to have self-esteem issues.

This is the first book I read by this author, Amy Grochowski. Very enjoyable. She must have had to do plenty of research about the Amish. I grew up and now live back in an area where there are a fair number of Amish and Mennonites. You get to learn a lot about their customs and culture, which helped me in the book to understand some of the language. It was an Amish romance novel that displayed faith, love, and keeping promises. Easy read. I would recommend it.

Highly recommend reading this aloud with friends on a roadtrip. I now know an abundance of Amish lingo and have witnessed protagonist Nick Weaver rake his hand through his dark wavy hair roughly 25 times. This book truly transcends a star rating.

I am left with a few lingering questions:

How is Nick, an adult man, still unable to brew his own kaffi (coffee)?

Is Fern Nick’s wife, or his indentured servant? The world may never know.

What color is nut-brown hair?

This is the first book I have read by this author. It won't be my last! This is an uplifting story about forgiveness, family, letting go and moving forward. Two childhood friends, Fern and Nick, made a promise to Fern's cousin, who is Nick's wife, that their two children would be taken care of after she passes. Fern is the children's nanny, but will she be able to fulfill her dream of being a wife and mother? Can Fern and Nick overcome past tragedies and family drama to form a family together? Read this book to find out! I highly recommend this book.

Sweet story

This book touched my heart in many ways. What a sweet story of love and redemption. I especially liked that Nick publicly expressed his feelings for Fern to settle wagging tongues and bring clarity to Ferns confusion about both their feelings.
I am looking forward to more stories from this author.

A heartwarming story of love, hope and faith. Widower Nick Weaver made a promise to his late wife, Charity. Fern Beiler, Charity's cousin also made her a promise. Fern becomes the children's nanny. As Nick and Fern grow closer can they honor the promises? I love Amish stories. I couldn't put it down. A very sweet romance.

The Amish Nanny's Promise by Amy Grochowski is a sweet Amish read. It's both a friends to more and a marriage of convenience story.

Fern thinks she's not worthy of marriage due to a scar she has from being injured in a fire. She's convinced herself that she's perfectly content to look after her late cousin's children. Nick, the children's father, and Fern marry for the sake of the children. Nick had feelings for Fern years before and he quickly finds those feelings again after they are married but has to convince Fern.

I liked both Nick and Fern. I felt that their relationship developed realistically given their history. There were some really sweet moments between them.

If you like Amish fiction, I recommend this book. I received a complimentary copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
