Prepare for Term 3 of Fate Hollow Academy, where the first battle of the war between supernaturals and humans was fought.
Tensions and unrest rose in Kalista like never before. The supernaturals and the Supernatural Council must band together to fight both the humans and the dragons. Our long-term goal is simple: peace between the supernaturals, though we wouldn’t mind the humans being completely wiped out in the process. The humans were quiet after the battle on the campus, but the dragons have started to show their true colors. They planned to kill those who didn’t stand with them and support a dragon-only utopia in Kalista. We must face all of our enemies head on to tip the balance of this war in our favor. To fight alongside my mates and the other supernaturals, I needed to pull on the strength my mates were determined I possessed before it was too late.
Fate Hollow Academy Term 3 is book three of four in the Fate Hollow Academy Series. It is a paranormal why-choose romance with all characters over the age of twenty-one. It contains mature subject matter that may not be suitable for all readers.
Lyra Winters is a twenty-something Kentucky woman who adores the book world. When she's not typing away on her laptop or daydreaming book ideas, Lyra is occupying her time taking care of her two spunky daughters and dreamy husband. She's addicted to Coca-Cola, 2000's rap music, and bubble baths. Her dream is to write love stories that touch the reader's hearts. Visit her website at https://www.lyrawinters.com/
It was fine but the author does a terrible job writing a reverse harem. Literally it’s wren and Damien and then 6 other dudes wren sleeps with sometimes lol. She is with Damien 95% of the time, it is either her or his pov most often. The others just pop up sometimes for sex lol
I’m pausing finishing the series bc the excessive use of cringy nicknames is annoying me.
Not related to the story but I don’t like that they gave her bangs on the cover of this one. She looked better before
Note: this is not a negative review, however if you're looking for praises to be sung this may not be the review for you.
I hardly ever feel like books are true 5 star reads. Maybe 10% of what I read I would consider absolute 5 stars. Books 1 & 2 of this series were both 5 star reads for me.
Then book 3 came around... and it almost felt like someone else wrote it.
If you're waiting for the spice to pick up between Wren and her mates, you absolutely get that in this installment of Fate Hollow Academy. I think the first 50% of this book is Wren meeting up with her various mates and them having sex.
Is this a bad thing? No. But I suddenly feel like this went from a great story with great spice, to an erotica. Again, this isn't bad but the plot that I've been riveted to has absolutely taken a back seat to the sex scenes in book 3.
Like... I still enjoyed it and will be excited for book 4... but it was just kind of ok for me overall.
Little snippets of actual plot worked their way in but conflicts resolved super easily and not much new actually happened in this one. I'm now hopeful that book 4 will be the last. I'm ready for this story to resolve itself I think.
This is my second time trying to read this book—I DNF’d it the first time. However, I had a better idea of what to expect this time around, so I didn’t get as frustrated and abandon the series again.
This is what I wrote about the second book, and honestly, the sentiment hasn’t changed—though our FMC, Wren, has gotten slightly braver:
🦊 "Wren has absolutely zero offensive abilities. She can’t fight and she is physically weak. She freezes in fear if someone even speaks to her harshly. Her fox form hasn’t grown since she was four, so she’s tiny and fragile… and yet she keeps insisting on throwing herself into a literal war. Why? She keeps endangering herself and everyone else around her, all because of her pride and stubbornness. She’s become the textbook definition of a TSTL (too stupid to live) heroine. It’s disheartening."
🔥 About the spice: there are eleven sex scenes in this book! From the first scene to the last sex scene they come, on average, every 23 pages. That's so excessive, the spice isn't even exciting at this point. On another note... Wren and Damien are experimenting with pain and pleasure. Towards the end of the book Damien whips Wren bloody, literally. She ends up coming...but the entire scene made me want to shut the book and purge my mind. It wasn't sexy, it was brutal and gross and it only happened because Damien was in a bad place mentally.
The only reason I’m even attempting to re-read this series is because I’ve only got a few days until two different series I’ve been dying to read are finally being released. Sooo… I’m going to keep pushing through and hope that by the time I’m done, the books I actually want to read will be ready.

Book Details & Ratings
📚 Completed Series 👀 POV: Multiple First-Person 📖 Genre: Fantasy Romance ❣️ Romance Type> Reverse Harem 🎱 Tropes: Fated Mates • Mutually Rejected Mate Bond • Academy • Royalty • Student/Teacher • Demons • Shifters • Fae • Vampires • Obsessive/Protective • Psychotic MMC • War Themes • Magic
-We start off 1 month after the battle that happened at Fate Hollow. The supernatural counsel is forming alliances and plans to are moving forward in the war against humans and dragons. Fate Hollow has shaken some things up in preset to better fight the war.
🌟 Overall Opinion:
-Wrens matebonds continue to grow and strengthen and so does the love between her and her mates and their relationship as a Harem.
-Lachlan and Wrens matebond snaps into place and it leads to them FINALLY having the sexy times and mate marks. 🔥
-Demon Capitol gets attacked but the dragons. Creepy Grayson makes an appearance 🤮 gosh he is so gross.
-They get the answer on how to kill Grayson but don’t do it🤷🏼♀️ it seems easy enough.
-Thorn continues to live two lives one with Wren and her mates and one as Prince of the Ice Kingdom but he is trying to find a solution to keep him with a wren and his brother-mates in Kalista.
-Damian and his parents got to exact vengeance on the Alpha and Luna of the Arctic Wolf pack and to get Alice and bring her home for closure. DAMN I didn’t think I could love him more ♥️ but I do! And his parent are amazing to. #TeamDamian I love how he pops up from the shadows at very convenient and inconvenient times 😂
-Kian 🫣🔥🤭 him loosing his V card was as sweet as it was hot. Now it’s time for some threesomes for our Kian 🫶🏻
-Rhett’s stalkers are caught and Rhett’s mating finally snaps into place. Expect tons of really 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ during their mating with some TAIL ❤️🔥action. I really have grown to love Rhett and his vulnerability and love for Wren. He’s my second fav after Damian. I also never liked Incubus cause they are whores but I loved how the author made it more of a duty he hated and how Wren is the ONLY one he ever enjoyed sex with💕
-Wren goes to the Ice festival ❄️ with Thorn. During this we get the Fire Kingdoms reason for the war and the resolution. -We also meet Madison (a childhood friend and his betrothed when he was younger) and the reason Thorn wasn’t a V 😤. BUUUT I’m glad to say he only had 1 sexual encounter when he was a dumb 17yr old kid trying to get over his feelings for Wren. He knew it was a mistake as soon as it was over and never happened again with anyone. He also had self hatred about it. I would prefer he hadn’t EVER done that and saved himself for Wren. But I guess 1 time 1 mistake as a kid I can move past…barley😳. Thorn shuts Madison down immediately and has zero interest in her ….. obvi we know he loves ♥️ Wren. But she seems determined so let’s hope she’s not a issue in book 2.
-All the bonds are officially in place by 50% and Wren starts to get stronger… she’s still a snowflake ❄️ but a slightly stronger one. Her bonds stabilize her magic but her emotional strength needs work. I’m pretty sure the only strength she has is fucking her mates 🤭… ok ok she did have one badass moment at the end.
-War with the humans reveals important info about Wrens dad and Lachlans sister. It also is bringing around the human responsible for Damien’s trauma. But don’t worry this is Damien and he is a badass ❤️🔥

This was a really hard book to finish. I honestly can’t read the rest of the series despite really wanting to.
My main issues summarized: 1. FMC is just terrible. For someone in her 20’s she acts like she’s 10 2. For a reverse harem/why choose there’s a LOT of only one male character and the others are thrown in at random 3. I can see the plot, hear the plot on the wind, but the plot does not reveal itself 4. Random things are thrown in at the end because the plot was not plotting. 5. If I have to read one more line with her and demon boiiiii I’m gonna yeet myself off the Grand Canyon
Fate Hollow Academy term 3 and this series shows no sign of running out of steam. What with all all the plot twists and turns as well as all of the steamy scenarios too. What I loved most about this series is how each guys story/background is blended in together so seamlessly that it keeps you on your toes from start to finish. It's a cracking read and one im dying to read more of
Impression: WAY too much sex. All of her mates do not get equal page time in general; Kian and Lachlan feel like filler at this point. Damien still feels like her one true mate and the other six guys are just add-ons.
Sidenote: It's real bullshit that Thorn didn't give his virginity to the heroine. He can read her fucking thoughts! So his excuse of "trying really hard to remember that I was just your friend" is complete and utter bullshit when it's been acknowledged several times that he heard her thoughts about how much she wanted him.
So good!!! Wren’s growth in this book was so amazing & everything I hoped for. A lot more action in this one, & Wren’s relationships between her & her mates becomes even stronger (& my obsessed psycho demon is still my favorite ever) Seriously such a good RH story!!
4.6 stars. All I have to say is: Nightshade. I love that pervy little furball. He’s adorable, and hilarious and I’m so glad the author added him to the story. (Not in a romantic sense, just to be clear.)
Term 3 picks up right after term 2 and there’s so much going on. Ahhh it was so good, and a great continuation of the story!! Now that we know what Wrens special skill is, we see her development and control over it. We also see a new side to Wren, she’s become the touch HIM and die type for all her mates.
The spice level goes WAY up and all the bonds are in place .. finally!!!
Again. The world building was so good, and Lyra has set us up for an action packed Term 4. Learning more about the humans and what they’re after, along with what the dragons are up to with Grayson answered questions from term 2.
We learn some exciting information about arctic fox shifters, that hopefully will be answered in term 4!!
Wren is even more badass Still love Damien Kian and Rhett are 🥵
I can not believe that I pre-ordered this book. The writing is juvenile. The relationships are crass. Wren is this sad little doll. I made it 40 pages in and had to just stop. This RH is just not worth the time.
This was amazing. I loved it. The guys are so sexy and there love her just makes me want to melt. I need to read the next book like right now. Loved it!
Lyra did it again! The heat has been turned up in this one! I'm so in love with all the main characters and their journey so far. The main character showed so much growth this time around. We also got some sweet justice in this term, I love it so much. I highly recommend reading and falling in love with this series!
This books series is amazing and a comfort read for me. In this book we see wren continue to become more confident in herself and her powers. The book is real because it talks about the trauma that comes with being in war. I love that all the soulmate bonds snapped into place! The spice is awesome and the cliffhanger has left me screaming.

Term 3 has started and Wren ,Rowan, Damion, Rhett, Alister, Kian, Thorn, and Lachlan are getting stronger together and I love there dynamic. The character development of these characters and the relationship are done extremely well. The twists and turns keep coming. Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book.
I was lucky to receive an ARC of this book to read. I am glad there was more action and Wren grew more as a character in this book but I am really hopeful in the next book she will really come into her own strength with but also without her mates. I would love it if she kicked some dragon ass next book!
It's a toss-up between 3 and 4 stars, so I'm settling for 3.5 stars. The reason for the higher rating is the characters and how well-built they are. I may even miss them!
Why would I want to give a lower rating... well it's all just smex smex smex, don't get me wrong I like a good smexy smutty book. But I've read too many who have managed the balance of the smex, character, relationship, and plot development better than this series.
Overall I have enjoyed the characters and their antics, Damion and Shade...I'm looking at your psycho and inappropriate selves 😏
The story in this book...more war, some revelation although it doesn't feel like a big one to me. Grayson the evil gooey rejected mate. More crystals. More apologies as they work out the relationship. More bonding, in and out of bed...mostly against other surfaces. More brother mates giving in to Damion and his just knowing they love his crazy shadow demon arse.
Just when you thought that things couldn’t get any more intense Lyra Winters comes in with a plot twist.
It’s amazing seeing Wren grow even more! One of my big icks is when a character just wants others to do “the dirty work” and just sit there and look pretty. Wren is definitely not like that!
There’s a lot of reflection on wrens growth, when she first started at the academy. Wren was this tiny little fox that just wanted to melt in and just be nice. (She was kind of a push over not gonna lie. But honestly I used to be the same) Now she is this strong (“little”) Arctic fox that is fierce and almost fearless when it comes to her mates.
I love that we get to see all the bonds evolve and not stay the same? Sometimes when reading “fated mates” types of books things get repetitive and I don’t know how Lyra does it but the spice and the dynamics never get boring! You get to see how Wrens mates handle each other and they all get used to having to share wrens love! (Sounds weird but you get it)
(Damien is of course my favorite 😏)
Don’t think you can “just read one more chapter” because all of the sudden there’s a new thing that you just neeeeed to read😂 LOVE IT
All the “Fate Hollow Academy” books end on different notes in my opinion so the book doesn’t get repetitive. 70% plot 30% smut/tension/longing I suppose? But the spice gets so much better with all the emotions behind it! ( My opinion ok?)
Term 3 does not disappoint at all. Wren’s bonds and relationships with all of her mates have grown so much this term and her magic has definitely grown and strengthened enormously. There are so many new things discovered in this book. Everyone is still recovering from the war with humans but also preparing for more to come. Wren learns more about her parents and finds a few others that knew her parents well. There are also answers to some questions that there have been throughout the three terms so far. I can’t say enough about this series. I absolutely love Wren and all of her mates. There is plenty of spice throughout this term too! The whole story keeps you addicted and wanting more. I am so excited and just can’t wait for the conclusion to everything in the next term!
I absolutely adored this next installment of the Fate Hollow Academy Series and gosh I'm so sad it ended! Ugh how I wish I could erase my memory just so I can start this book over and reared it AGAIN because wow. Just wow.
Term three picks up where term two left off and I have to say the growth Wren and her men in this book was everything I hoped for and I can't wait to see how their story continues to progress. Their relationship was top notch and Kian was so adorable I just want to squish him!
I enjoyed the relationship between each of the men and Wren and yeah, the spicy definitely amped up in this book I had to pause in between scenes. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I'm definitely tempted to give it another read while I wait to get my hands on term four!
To get the disclaimer out of the way, I have received an arc copy of this book so this is a arc review. The book will be releasing this coming august.
ARC Review of Fate Hollow Academy Term 3 by Lyra Winters * * * * * It's back and it's just as spicy and wild as ever! Your dose of supernatural reverse-harem steaminess is delivered in this hot read that is amping up the drama in the love and evil department.
After the end of last term that was filled with great loss and the discovery of what the humans are planning - experiments and mutation on creating super soldiers, and not to forget the dragons going wacko! You thought the crazy would dwindle? Nope. The last of the bond starts to fall into place, the bedroom department is on fire...literally, it is that hot. There is still the issue with two stalkers and the threat against Wren from them and her former horrid mate, but let us not worry as the boys have her back. Then, there are a bunch of shocks and baby surprises and some hope for Wren in the search for someone she thought was killed.
OMG! I cannot get over how good this book is. It picks up right around when book 2 finished. The character growth in Wren is absolutely beautiful to witness. Not to mention the growth of her men! Seeing Kian’s confidence with Wren get stronger was amazing. Damien is still our favorite obsessed demon. The new information we learn through out the book had my head spinning. The spice through out the book is absolutely 1000/10. I cannot wait to read the next one! I would HIGHLY recommend reading!
This book is just phenomenal!!! I can’t even begin to describe, how much I love this book! I receieved an ARC in exchange of an honest review. Honestly, I can’t say anything else than this book is my new obsession! Lyra Winters has an amazing talent to move along the story at just the right pace. The characters are amazingly well written and you can see them evolving and changing. Each character is incredibly detailed and so different yet they compliment each other. I love all the men in the harem and in this book we can get to know them even better. The spice though! The spice has been amped up this book and I am here for it!! The spice is soo good!!! I read it in one sitting and I already can’t wait for the next book! 12/10 would recommend, people around me are already tired of me raving about this book. So so so good!!! Ho read this book immediately if you love RH and even if you don’t, this book will make you fall in love with RH. You’ll thank me!
This is the third book and starts to show the issues that Wren is going through. We get to see her deal with the mate bonds and how they snap into place. We get to see how her mates respond to her and what she is willing to do for them. This is a great story, and the spice is perfect for Wren. We see her become what her mate know she already is. Rowan is absolutely the best first bond for her.
I get that 7 mates is a tad much but I've never seen an author pick favorites/least favorites in a harem. Damien is the favorite and Kian the least favorite based on the behavior of the FMC and the number of scenes. It's weird and uncomfortable. Like they aren't real people and I feel bad for the guy she doesn't hang out with too often.
Moreover, raise your hands if you think this could have been like 2 books instead of 4. It drags. Not enough plot to spread around. Series fatigue is a thing.
Book three of Fate Hollow packs the heat, or maybe the cold?? We get ALLOT of action as Wren and Thorn barely avoid war when they travel to Thorn's home to be confronted by Nate's parents after what took place at the end of book two. But that's not the only surprise everyone gets. If you thought Damon was a little of kilter in the first two books but adored his character any way, wait till you see what he loses this go round! But the best part is the continued character growth for not just Wren but each of her mates. We see a change in all of them. Whether it's building confidence, becoming more gentle or patient, even just more relaxed. And even though there are so many great main characters Lyra still finds a way to write fantastic side characters that I love, like Damon's parents and the old witch from town. I can not wait for book four. I have voluntarily left this review.
This book allows you a peak into each mates life more. You watch Wren grow into a strong woman who is not only to be strong mentally but physically. But there seems to be more tricks and turns she will have to take to learn about herself and protect the ones she loves.
This book picks up after the second book. Wren is trying to figure out a way to defeat Grayson for good but is struggling with everything. She finally completes the bonds with the remaining two of her mates. There are some answers to things that have been happening and some are taken off the board. This was really spicy and there was a lot of group activities which I enjoyed. I can’t wait to read the final book!
