I met Jennifer last year on a river cruise we were both taking with our husbands. I did not get to spend a lot of time with her but she shared her book Go Make Ripples with me. I was excited to read it because in talking with her, it was clear she is was so enthusiastic about how God has changed her life. This book is engaging, encouraging, and challenging to the reader. It is her story of how she became a Christian and her passion to help others find Jesus too. She shares the many creative, practical ways she has found to share the Gospel message to a hurting, needy world. The ideas are useful in passing on the Good News to those we meet every day. After I finished the book, I followed through with her request to pass the book on and start making ripples too.

I hesitate to say anything negative because I loved seeing the author's heart and there are some great ideas in here! It just seemed like the personal stories dragged on with unnecessary details and information. And I had to read with caution as it could cause a focus on "works" and I started to feel bad that I am not doing this or that or all the things!! But generally, I believe the Holy Spirit leads each of us in our unique situations and seasons to do the works God has prepared beforehand for us to walk in...and that might look very different from person to person.

All that said, the author seems lovely and I was encouraged from her passion and love for evangelism.

3.5 stars. Really encouraging book for any Christian looking for practical ways to make an impact,

The editing bothered me. Simple things like “a lot” or the wrong “it’s”…several other mistakes.

She recommends Eggerich’s Love & Respect book, and while I haven’t read it, I’ve been warned there are too many Christian women who stay in abusive relationships because of that book.

But overall it’s a good read. I wish she had a recommended reading list because she mentions so many interesting books she’s read. And if she sold packs of her “ripple” cards, I would buy them!

I adored reading through her story. It was if you were sitting down over a cup of tea chatting with Jennifer herself. You could tell she poured her heart and soul into her writing and is passionate about sharing the Lord with others!

The heart behind this book is there, and I absolutely hate leaving an iffy review on a Christian book….but this read like an Instagram caption and it was just not for me
