“The chains of marriage are so heavy that it takes two to bear them, and sometimes three.”-Alexandre Dumas .
Meet married couple Adina and Lavar Jackson; two attractive sluts with zero f*cks to give and a bone to pick. It’s no secret that revenge served cold is their favorite meal, along with a side of disrespect and jealousy. Soon a third place at their dysfunctional table is set, when the couple discovers they’re sleeping with the same person. Games are played. Hearts are broken. Love is renewed. And a tragic price will be paid. How did this sh*t show even begin? Coffee. It all started with a cup of coffee.

A Wild Ride

Where could I even possibly start? I haven't read a book of fiction that hadn't involved a magical element to it in a while. But my friend, the author of the book just dropped this one and I've been meaning to read some of her work. So here we are release day and I grab the digital copy on my kindle.

It was a quick read but the story was an absolute page turner. Married couple Lavar and Adina Jackson have some fidelity issues. He's got a side piece and she's got a line up. They're still together for the money and businesses they make but neither are happy. They both meet a woman named Jei who turns their infidelity into a competition and all hell breaks loose.

A few thoughts came to mind when I started this book. Earlier this year I'd read a real life story about a couple down south who'd been sleeping with the same man, that ended nothing like this with the exception of it ending up on Facebook somehow.

The next thing that came to mind was, these two were stupid. It was an amazing story from start to finish but the misunderstanding that caused the shit show could've easily been avoided by a little communication.

My favorite characters are gonna be Jei and Collandria for the win. Jei as a main character is well thought out and crazy as hell. I love a good toxic character and even felt a little bad for her at the end of the story.

Collandria is a great bestfriend, she isn't in the story much but her presence is felt and she actually saves the day which I'm gonna be honest, I never saw coming.

Final Thoughts: I need to see more of the Jackson's. They were moving so I wonder where they'll move to now. I would loooove a prequel to Jei's story.

I haven't read a book that kept me guessing like this in a long time. Still processing it but this book is definitely a favorite of mine.

"It all begin with a cup of coffee" so simple but true. This book will test every moral compass that one has.

The characters are so true to themselves no matter how extra. It is a story of love and lust. I could not put my Kindle down on this one.

I couldn't help but to say poor Keyla & Jei. Them damn Jacksons are way too much. Then I found out Callendria is more live than TiTi.

Also what happened to Brill? Ultimately, once I finished this book I'm like yeah no more coffee for me. Just tea. And I'm making it home with the Keurig!

What a ride. First, let me start out by saying I love novellas because they get straight to the point. The extremes that love and rage will take you to is all displayed in this book. This will have you thinking twice about making decisions out of lust and hurt. I enjoyed this quick read. I have the physical copy 108 pages. This is a stand alone novella. This is my first read from the author who I had the pleasure of meeting at about book expo. I’m looking forward to starting the Love Ain’t Sh*t Trilogy next.

Callandria for the win!

The sub character, Callandria, was the most level headed of all the characters. Whew chile! 🤦🏽‍♀️😆 This book had a lot of drama and foolishness. There were a lot of eye-rolling moments for me. However, it intrigued me enough to make me keep reading. I needed to see how this mess the characters had gotten themselves into was going to end. Talk about a wreck tangle.

Dangerously Good!

It’s been years since I’ve read a fiction book so this was a pleasant surprise. From the very beginning, the author had us hooked and painted the characters so clearly, they were easy to imagine in beautiful shades of brown and black. There were several twists and turns, but I admire the main characters, Adina and Lavar’s commitment to their marriage. I highly recommend this book for the open-minded reader.

All of this author's books are usually a 4 or 5 star read for me, but this one didn't live up to my expectations. It was a decent read, but a little all over the place for my liking. And for me to enjoy a book, I usually have to like AT LEAST one of the characters, and I didn't like any of them. You win some, you lose some. This was an okay read for me.

wowwwww

That ending was intense. I don’t want it to be lost on the readers that there are so many lessons to be gleaned from this story. It was very interesting and the plot, subject and characters were all written and developed well. A five star read indeed.

This was a really good quick read

This was truley a wreck tangle. Jei was really crazy. Adina and Lavar didn't know what or who they were involved with. This was a really good book. A must read.

If you like Messy stories then get ready for this one because it WILL NOT disappoint.

This story is a romantic thriller with multiple POVs. This is a story of marriage, sex, and revenge. Our married couple Adina and Lavar both have side pieces. Keeping it real, Adina has an entire roster!

This is a couple that is well aware of the other's actions but chooses to stay together and keep up apperences and it works for them. Until it doesn't. Until they BOTH end up catching feelings for the SAME side piece.

That's when things get crazier. It becomes a battle OF & FOR the side chick
