It's been over a month since the apocalypse began, and there are no signs of help on the way. While some are battling to stay safe and alive, others plot their path to power. With both rotters and humans to contend with, not everyone will survive this cruel new world.
Hayley Anderton is an author, reader, baker and crazy cat lady, born and raised in the North West of England. She strives for diversity in her writing, and believes that books can change the world. She graduated from John Moores University in 2017, and is now searching for her next adventure.
Sacrifice is book 4 of the Apocalypse series by Hayley Anderton and Laura Swift, and it is just as suspenseful and engrossing as the first 3 books.
I’m not even going to go into how I don’t normally read zombie books, blah, blah, blah because by now, you know I love this series even though it’s a zombie series and I love it because it’s more than a zombie apocalypse series.
As with books 2 and 3, Sacrifice is a smooth continuation of the apocalypse without a lot of rehashing. It’s not the same ole thing on repeat but an evolution of events. For that matter, it’s an evolution of the characters, as it should be. This story has so much going on I could not put it down. It’s so evocative there were times I almost did so I could collect myself.
Sacrifice has new twists, new confrontations, and new horrors to make you physically and mentally tense up and cringe and then exclaim out loud. I am so invested in this story and these characters that I can hardly wait for the next one.
Sacrifice is the fourth book in the Apocalypse series and like the three books before it, it was just as intense with lots of zombies. The world-building for this series just gets better and better.
It has been over a month since the apocalypse began. Everyone is starting to realize that help may not be coming anytime soon if at all. They are beginning to think that it may be time to start fixing up a more permanent and safe place to stay.
Tragedy hits when the crew decides that it is time to go out and find the supplies they need to make their living quarters more of a permanent place to live and safer from the zombies.
Sacrifice has enough zombies to keep those pages turning. The more I read in the Apocalypse series the more it reminds me of my favorite TV show The Walking Dead. The characters seem to be all great people well except for the exception of this one dude who is just looking out for himself.
Someone who I believe is just fooling himself as well as everyone else as to the person he really is. But I do believe that this guy will get his due justice one day soon as karma will more than likely take a bite out of him. Well, that is if a zombie doesn’t do it first.
The tension and the excitement become more and more intense the closer to the end. The more I read the more I wanted to read. I became so enamored with Sacrifice that the world around me no longer existed as it slowly faded away.
I love zombies and end-of-the-world type of stories and can’t seem to get enough of them. Let me tell you Sacrifice did not disappoint me in any way. Sacrifice went above and beyond anything I may have expected in a zombie story.
As with each book before it, I highly recommend Sacrifice to all and any zombie fans! Grab your copy of Sacrifice today!
This was a very very hard book to write, and I'm glad it's over in some ways, because it emotionally drained me! But that doesn't mean I don't love it with all of my heart! This is a turning point in the series, so I hope everyone is ready for the new era of Apocalypse!
My favourite zombie series is finally back!! Sacrifice, as with its predecessor, continues to up the ante as the group struggles to deal with both the implacable rotters / biters and the more insidious threat of humanity itself!
Speaking of which - the depths that the leaders sink in order to maintain their grip on power is bone chilling, with both Alby's and (especially) Ross's increasing instability being exposed in horrifying fashion as they do whatever it takes to stay in control, but sowing serious doubt in their allies in the process.
The personal relationships of the characters continue to flourish and are so easy to get invested in, with a diverse and colourful cast from various walks of life.
The titular victim completely blindsided me and knocked the wind out of my sails! Masterfully done and the impact of their death will outlive them for multiple books to come!!
Oh nooo! Why would the writers decide to kill the only person that was an absolute sweetheart! ( I know zombie book and peolple die, but why him?). My favourite series so far. Its so emotional and exciting to read, im cant wait to get into the next books in this series.
Overview: I've read this series from the start and every time a new book is released I have that excited feeling and dreaded feeling...because it's a zombie apocalypse, which means people are going to die. It's inevitable, but it still hurts! Let's just say I was not mentally prepared for the end of this book 😭😭😭
Good points: The characters make these books. If you've read them from the start then they will feel like old friends. I love the relationships and the banter and the arguments. Most of them are still kids and trying to survive day to day is making them grow up quick. There wasn't as much zombie killing in this one as previous books and I didn't mind that because by this point it's all about the characters and whether or not they will survive.
Not so good points: Nothing major to point out at all. I enjoyed the book very much. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is I didn't think there was a strong plot in this book. I didn't really see where it was going.
Highly recommend this zombie series, but be warned...it's graphic and brutal and characters you love will die!
It's been over a month since the apocalypse began, and there are no signs of help on the way. While some are battling to stay safe and alive, others plot their path to power. With both rotters and humans to contend with, not everyone will survive this cruel new world. The fallout has arrived. Chaos has been unleashed. Sacrifices must be made. This is the apocalypse.
I can’t believe how easily these kids have taken to the apocalypse. They just roll with the punches and plan for the long-term future. I love it. Oops not so fast. I was going to write a long review, but I can't. I need some time to process the ending. I'm so invested in these characters that my heart is broken. This book is a more complicated story than the previous ones. It gets into the dirty, all-too-real side of life. It might not be as cozy, but I still loved it, except well, you know. Read it and you'll understand. Wow. Anyways, this is definitely a book series I recommend reading. And, um, authors, please hurry with the next book. Pretty please? Here is the reading order so you can catch up:
Apocalypse: A Zombie Thriller Fallout (Apocalypse Book 2) Chaos (Apocalypse Book 3)
Well, that escalated quickly! The series steps up with this book, as the tensions rise across each POV and cracks start to form in each group.
I enjoyed the suspense building across all of the characters, as they all realise their current situations are not sustainable, and start to take risks.
The ending was heart-breaking and wonderfully written, really nailing the emotion as we lost one of my favourite characters. I’m interested to see what the impact of his death is in the next installment.
The fight for survival continues on, each group is still blissfully unaware of each other, we have survivors at the School, Farm and Outdoor Store with some of the survivors daring to venture out.
This part of the series more so focused on emotions, we start to see the strain of relationships, corruption and heartbreak.
I look forward to seeing if the groups ever encounter each other and what will happen if they do!
The fourth instalment of the Apocalypse series. More and more is happening and we are currently following three storylines that are separate but linked at the same time. The ending was sad but as with all of the others makes you ready to dive into the next book. The characters are also starting to develop and we are getting to know them more!
Wow, I was not prepared to SOB!! Just because of that fact alone I have to rate this book higher than the others. This book was good at showing emotion and seeing into glimpses of characters we haven't learned much about yet.
Okay, this one broke me. I have now bought the rest of the series. These are so easy to read, and the characters are just amazing! I read this on the plane on the way to my holiday and I was left reeling by the ending!! No one is safe!
This book leaves you wanting more. I loved the groups survivalness coming out and you're seeing the characters learn more about the apocalypse. This book leaves you thinking about who to trust and who to not trust. Overall, I liked this 😊
